Chapter 2: 2
In Style
Chapter Text
Juny spent at least 8 hours reading, taking notes midway.
She now understood the concept of: Cogitation, Spirit vision, Ritualistic Magic, The External and Spirit world, The Bodies Layers such as the Spirit body, Charm making, Beyonder ingredients, Sequence potions, Acting Method, The three Beyonder Laws, Mystical items/artifacts, Official Beyonders x Wild Beyonders, Orthodox churches and more.
After an especially long section, she finally finished learning about the 22 standard Pathways, only that...
"22 Standard Parhways: Seer - Fool Pathway, Marauder - Error Pathway, Apprentice - Door Pathway, Spectator - Visionary Pathway, Bard - Sun Pathway, ... Arbiter - Justiciar Pathway."
"..."
"Where-"
Once again reading through the list, Juny couldn't believe her eyes.
'It's not there.'
"The Void pathway is not there!"
No matter how many times she read the list or how many pages she flipped there was no mention of the Void Pathway anywhere.
"How is that..?"
Getting up, Juny walked over to the 2nd Bookshelf and pulled out another book.
Once again flipping through it, she read: 'There is a total of 22 Standard Pathways: The Seer Pathway, The Marauder Pathway, ... and The Arbiter Pathway.'
"Nothing.."
She shoved the book back and took out a different one.
'In total, we have 22 Standard Pathways: ...'
"Nothing."
This repeated many times, with the same result.
There was no information on the Void Pathway.
She stood rooted in place for a moment before coming to a realization.
Putting all the books into their rightful place, Juny turned around and walking towards the official information bookshelf.
She skimmed through the titles before finally grabbing one: 'The Void Pathway's Origin and Curse, by Empty Star.'
Ignoring the strange name of the author, Juny skipped to the desk and started reading.
'The Void Pathway does not belong to the Standard 22 Pathways. The Void Pathway's potion formulas do not originate from the First Blasphemy Slate, but from The Queen of Cosmos, The Goddess of Galaxies and The Master of all Creation.'
'We, the Lapis family, are the descendants of The Queen's dearest Blessed. We have the duty to shield and protect the secrets of The Void Pathway that The Queen bestowed upon us. After The Queen sacrificed 'Her' life for the deletion of all records of The Void Pathway, we have wowed to forever guard the Pathway's Beyonder Characteristics.'
'We have taken the initiative to place a curse onto The entire Void Pathway as well as all Beyonder Characteristics in our possession, including the Beyonder ingredients, this includes those inside as well as the outside The Void Pathway. The curse states that anyone, who is not of the Lapis bloodline, cannot be made aware of The Void Pathway's potion formulas. If they do come to hold this information, they will experience excruciating pain, followed by an immediate and forceful extraction of said knowledge. This curse is irreversible and cannot be, in any way, bypassed. The Queen herself allowed us to use 'Her' remains to conduct this curse.'
'This curse also affects our Bloodline as well as the Beyonder ingredients in our grasp. If a person outside the Lapis family were to consume The Void Pathway's potion, or potion from other pathways that has been conducted using the ingredients stored inside the Dimensional Space, the curse would activate. If the person dies through normal death, their Beyonder Characteristics would warp into themself to teleport into the Dimensional Space. If they were to die due to losing control or their Beyonder Characteristic is corrupted by an evil existence, the remains will morph into themself to teleport into a fully enclosed and isolated space behind the usual storage area in the Dimensional Space.'
'If a creature outside the Lapis bloodline, that has consumed cursed potion were to consciously and by their own will wish harm or attack a Lapis descendant, while they are in recognition that the person is a descendant of this bloodline, the curse would activate, forcing the Beyonder ingredients or Characteristic that has been cursed to be extracted from the creature's body. This process is very painful and a Lapis bloodline descendant that has bestowed this cursed Beyonder ingredient/Characteristic upon the creature will be alerted through the Dimensional Space.'
'If a person of the Lapis bloodline were to try and disclose the potion formula, or any information concerning the potion's conducting, to an outsider, the curse upon our Blood would activate, crushing the person's heart and destroying their spirit. If said person is a Beyonder and has consumed a potion made out of a cursed Beyonder ingredients, the Beyonder characteristic would be extracted and moved into the Dimensional Space as per previously stated rules.'
'If a person of the Lapis bloodline were to die due to suicide, their Beyonder characteristics would not be immediately morphed and teleported into the Dimensional Space. This is due to a rule of Bloodline preservation.'
'Only at an instance, when all Lapis Bloodline members have perished, will the curse be weakened enough to allow for it to be destroyed.'
'In that instance, the Dimensional Space's holster charm would immediately self destruct, causing the Dimensional Space to collapse into itself forever sealing the Dimensional Space in a deep cosmos made out of The Queens leftover Spirituality. All cursed items will then be wiped out and forced to disappear using The Void's uniqueness.'
As her eyes moved she almost couldn't believe her eyes.
Her mother and maybe even herself were being hunted because of this 'curse'.
"But why would they hunt us? Even if they kill us, they wouldn't get anything we own. It would all disappear and automatically seal itself."
"Although I understand the Law of Beyonder Characteristics Indestructibility, sealing and making them disappear doesn't count as destruction, so it's possible. Especially when a God's remains are included..."
Juyn couldn't help but tap her finger on the desk to collect her thoughts.
"That is unless they are unaware of the second half."
She soon came up with a hypothesis.
"Maybe, they only managed to learn the part about the destruction of the curse before the informant died. And since the spirit is automatically destroyed, they never learned the second half of it..."
The more she thought, the clearer her thoughts became and the more she believed that her theory must be right. Or at least very close to the truth.
"Well, that clears the fog. Also, I now understand the reason why its called 'The Void Pathway'. To think The True God of this pathway can create Void to make things disappear..."
Heaving a sigh, Juny stretched herself.
"Time to go out. I'll have to pray for my survival.."
She grabbed the Lapis colored decoration on her neck and started infusing it with spirituality.
In her mind, she imagined a map that miss Mari once showed her, she imagined a particular place. It was a small city in the southwest direction from her house. She imagined a particular forest located 5 km from this city as well as 13 km from Kaila's house.
Taking a deep breath she stepped through the newly-created door.
On the other side was a dark forest. Completely unfamiliar.
Satisfied, yet still on a very high alert, Juny walked out.
She could sense the fresh air with a natural smell.
From what she could understand, It was around 23:00.
Juny didn't have a watch or anything similar.
Figuring out the vague direction, she began walking.
In her mind, she was trying to gather information about the Feynapotter Kingdom.
'It was founded in the Fourth epoch and is currently the third strongest Kingdom on the Northern continent. The main religion is the Church of the Earth Mother which worships the Earth Mother. Their enforcement division is the Fertility Order. They are mainly in hold of the Mother and the Moon Pathways. ...I think there was something about their tendencies of recruiting the Sanguines? Which are technically just vampires.'
'The Church of the Earth Mother has some level on influence in the Loen Kingdom, but it's very limited. These guys value both life and death as a cycle.. so they are fine with death to a certain extend. Hmm... The book also mentioned something about the difference between The Blessed and The Favored of the Earth Mother. Which I'm not fully sure of what it means.'
'The symbol is a sleeping baby with wheat growing around it. Also... uh. How was it again? Pressing their hands in front of their noses? I think that's right. The church is pretty much equal to men and women. It's just that it's more centered about reproduction..'
'The main city is the Feynapotter city. A little on the nose but I respect it. The main language is Highlander from Ancient Feysac and the currency is in ten-base denomination. Its: 1 risot equals to 10 setta and 1 setta equals to 10 negan.'
'Honestly, as long as you have good genes, you don't need to be attractive.'
Juny couldn't resist shaking her head with a smirk.
'The people really are influenced by The Church, now that I think about it. Women here go after men with robust bodies because they are suited for reproduction. That's just sad for those born small...'
As she thought that, Juny couldn't help but look down at her small body.
"Well, I am a child, so it doesn't matter.."
Justifying her petite build she kept on walking, not in a hurry, but not in a leisurely manner either.
After a few hours of walking, she finally reached the forest edge.
Looking out, she saw the city.
It was quite small, yet not a village either.
It had tall houses, with an average of at least 4 floors. In the surroundings were multiple roads leading out with houses stationed on both sides.
Juny cautiously followed the road on the sidewalk, making sure to be on a lookout for any passersby.
She still had a deep impression of her terrifying looks.
'At this time, someone might actually mistake me for a zombie... What would I do if they call exorcists on me?'
With a self-deprecating laugh, Juny mainly kept in the shadows and walked down the dark alleyways.
At his point, she has already buttoned up the coat, making sure to cover the torn-up dress.
After maneuvering and climbing a street lamp for the fifth time, she began to curse.
"How is it that a Pathway that's all about space has no way of creating illusions?!"
She felt herself getting more self-conscious, now even eyeing the windows.
...
Finally, she found the shopping district.
Although the only opened buildings at this time were the bars, casinos and brothels, Juny didn't need someone to open in order to get clothes.
"Thank the Gods cameras don't exist here."
Walking to a clothes-store, Juny cautiously looked around before using Space Solicitation to create a key right inside the keyhole.
She quickly opened the door and stepped inside, closing it behind her.
After she made sure that it's firmly locked, she looked around.
Acting quickly, Juny moved over to the coats. Surprisingly, there was a broad range of styles to pick from.
Feeling glad that she picked the right store, she grabbed a particularly loose one.
It was Cold black in color with stylish vertical lines on the inside and elegant lace on the ends. The sleeves were long and stuffy but not uncomfortably loose or the kind that would hinder her.
Not to mention, it would hide her actual build quite well. Although there was nothing she could do about her height.
Looking around, she also saw ones without lace or ones without sleeves.
'What a particular clothing style. Although it's very sympathetic for me, I don't think it's a very favored style in this world and age...'
'Maybe that's why it's rather cheep.. only 20 risot for one...'
With a thought, Juny picked another two in the same style before turning away.
Acting with great familiarly, Juny walkedover to the section with pants.
Her eyes scanned them before contemplating on their practicality.
In the end, she grabbed 3 Intense black in color. They had a particularly interesting design. They were very tight from the knees down, yet loose from the knees up.
'10 risot and 5 setta for one.'
Just as she was about to leave the store to look for a proper shirt, her eyes got stuck.
Next to the male-styled pants, there was a multitude of fashionable high-waisted skirts. A particular skirt looked especially stunning.
It was plain black skirt with multiple layers. What truly caught her eyes was the thick belt around the waist as well as the multitude of other belts hanging from it.
Unable to hold herself back Juny grabbed four. Very sure that she would never have the chance to find anything like this again.
'One only for 5 risot 8 setta? This shop is being robbed!'
"..."
"I'm not talking about me robbing them, I'm gonna pay!"
Shaking her head, Juny opened her Pocket Dimension and stuffed the clothes inside.
As she spent more than 8 hours reading about mysticism and Beyonders, she would be an idiot not to learn at least some basics about her own powers.
She took out her wallet and pulled out ten 10 risot notes, two 5 risot notes, four gold coins and seven setta. Leaving her wallet with four 10 risot notes, eight 5 risot notes, 13 gold coins, 120 setta and 87 negans.
And of course a 10 pound note and two 5 pound notes. Although, she still had no idea what to use them for.
As she placed the money down, she suddenly had a thought.
'Should I leave a tip? I mean... Technically, I'm stealing right now and a robber wouldn't leave a tip..'
"No, wait! A thief wouldn't pay to begin with! I'm actually shopping!"
"Yes!"
"I'm shopping after the closing hours!"
With a laugh, she took out one more 5 risot note as an apology for trespassing.
Juny was never one to care much about money. She wasn't rich, but she was never poor.
She didn't really mind having small reserves.
'The world's an asshole, so why stress about money?'
In a good mood left over from her jokes, Juny walked over to the backdoor.
'This is much better than using the main entrance.. why didn't I think about this before?'
Exhaling, Juny walked out before locking the door behind her and bowing her head at the shop.
It was unknown to her why or to whom she was bowing. She just felt that it was right.
Looking around cautiously, Juny began searching for her next target.
"I need a shirt, shoes and some bag to carry stuff in."
'I can't just go around pulling stuff out of my ass...'
Thinking of using a small leather bag as a mask to hide her Pocket Dimension, Juny turned the corner.
Suddently, her eyes widened. A male chest appeared right in front of her face.
Juny knew that if she reacted, even though she could, it would be too suspicious.
She only turned her head down so that she would bump into the man with her forehead, not her nose.
And with that, she felt her forehead collide with a surprisingly hard chest, pushing her backwards.
Acting like an introverted child her age would, she covered her forehead as she let out a grunt.
With the way she looked in mind, Juny decided to act like a pitiful little girl.
That is unless these guys would try to kidnap her.
"Oh, sorry."
Her ears pricked up as he heard the man.
'Loenese?'
With a nervous expression in her eyes, she looked up.
"I eim svory!"
She purposely stumbled over her words and made her pronunciation bad.
'A small, poor child for sure wouldn't know Loenese well. The only reason why I spoke it is because both Highlander and Loenese come from Ancient Feysac, so it's not too weird that I know some of it.'
'If anything, it would make me look more pitiful. Making me pass off as someone who apologizes so much they had to learn to do so in different languages.'
With a smirk on the inside, she controlled her face 'nervously' scanning the man's face.
He had deep, yet oddly handsome features. He couldn't be older than 25. He had dark brown eyes with profound look. His hair was slicked back and he was wearing a formal suit.
A familiar feeling seemed to be emanating from him.
'A beyonder?'
Juny quickly 'trembled' under the man's gaze as she bowed in an apologetic way.
"Would you look at that, you know Loenese? That's rare."
Although Juny couldn't see his expression, she could hear a smile from his tone.
'Uuu, looks like my acting skills got better after transmigration! Or is it that noone really suspects small children?'
...
The man stared at the small girl that kept trembling from just a look.
He felt slightly amused but he also pitied the child.
'How often must've she been beaten near death to have to learn apologizing in foreign language?'
The girl's looks only added to his speculation.
She had no shoes and she walked the dirty streets filled with all kinds of shards with bare feet, having only slim pair of socks to warm her legs, not to mention they were soaked and very obviously old.
She was wearing an extremely rundown coat, the man figured that she must've found it in a trashcan somewhere.
The little girl's face was stained with dirt and dried blood.
Her lips had a bluish shade, probably from the cold, and they were ripped.
'She must've bit them to suppress her pain.'
The more he studied her the more his heart stung.
Her eyes were sunken with dark circles underlining them. He could see tear burns by the corner of her eyes.
Her hair was clumped together with dried blood and mud.
Unable to handle it, he pulled out his wallet, desperate to give the girl a chance at a better future.
He pulled out two 10 risot notes.
Stealing a glance at his companions. He saw them wearing the same look as him, also secretly taking out their wallets.
With a secret sigh of relief that he wasn't the only one with such a thought, he turned to the girl.
"Don't worry about it, the coat was stained to begin with."
This time he was speaking in Highlander. His accent was slightly rugged, but nothing more.
Seeing the little girl flinch he smiled before reaching out his hand.
Before he spoke, his companion gently tapped his shoulder and handed him a 10 risot note.
He wasn't the only one, some gave him one 10 risot note, some two. One actually gave him three. It was a friend of his who deeply supported charity.
A total of eight 10 risot notes appeared in his hand.
He nodded at his companions before looking at the nervous girl before him.
She was still bowing deeply. Her head even lower than it was before, she was also shaking a lot more now.
With a breath the pitying man spoke.
"Here you go, buy yourself a nice pair of shoes and find a nicer workplace."
The petite girl looked up at him. She had a dumbfounded expression, her lips quivered.
She looked down at her feet before biting her lips and, with a bowed head, she reached out and grabbed the money.
The man heard a weak and hoarse voice. It spoke in a bad Loenese.
"T- Trank vou verly musch."
At this point, she already held the notes close to her chest, trembling.
The man smiled before nodding at his, also seemingly satisfied, companions and said goodbye to the pitiful girl.
As he walked away, he noticed that the little girl stayed in the bowing position, still trembling.
He couldn't help but praise himself and his companions.
"That money will surely change the girl's life."
A round of approving voices sounded all around him. They all wore proud and hopeful expressions.
His friend, who greatly supported charity, looked especially pleased.
"There are many pitiful children like her."
"They are all fighting for their life almost every day."
...
Just a few meters away, Juny truly was fighting for her life.
Trying not to laugh.
'DON'T LAUGH! DON'T!'
'T- They mean well! You, pft- You are just a wonderful actor! That's all!'
"Kugh."
A strange sound left her throat as a result of her suppressed laughter.
Her body was in pain from how hilarious the situation was.
If she wouldn't be able to bend over to hide her face, she for sure would have long been found out.
She was good at hiding her true feelings and covering her expressions. Just not THAT good.
'I- I can't. They can still see me. I can't lose it yet.'
Trying her very hardest to straighten her body, she took a step.
Staying in character, she started running.
Where? She herself didn't know.
But that's what a small, poor child would do if they suddenly got a lot of money.
They would run.
As she distanced herself, she ran into an alleyway and crouched down.
And finally, she laughed.
She immediately felt relieved.
Calming down, she stood back up and pulled out her wallet.
As she stuffed the bills inside, a shadow suddenly covered the gas lamp's light.
Juny's eye couldn't help but twitch.
"What do we have here? I think we just caught a petty thief, didn't we, Brother?"
Juny looked up and saw two rather tall and buffed guys.
The one who just spoke wore an unbuttoned shirt, revealing a scar across his chest.
He seemed quite proud of it.
The other one wasn't as tall but instead had quite the width.
She scanned them, but felt nothing, making her feel relieved.
'Quite lively around these parts, huh?'
'Where were y'all when a particular store was being robbed?'
She narrowed her eyes.
'No, wait. I didn't rob it... I paid.'
The wider guy answered the scarred man's question.
"We sure did, she seems to have stolen our money."
Juny's mouth twitched.
'Oh? Is that how we're gonna play it?'
...
Jeff looked at the small girl with a wallet that stood before him.
Her hair covered the upper-half of her face, making it impossible to see her eyes from his position.
Although she tried her best to not seem scared, he could clearly see her lips twitch.
With a smirk, he took a step closer.
Keeping his back straight to tower over the girl, he laughed.
"If a little thief like you plays nice, you might just be worth a nagat or two."
He grinned widely, showing his yellow teeth.
Then, he heard the girl speak.
"...Who are you?"
He couldn't help but furrow his brows.
The girl's tone was cold and staid, as if talking to an ant.
'How dare she speak to me like that?!'
His thoughts were in synch with Karl, his 'Brother'.
He saw Karl take a step forward, making sure to stop next to himself.
"Do you not understand your situation?! You are just a little sh*t!"
The man, Jeff, moved his hand, stopping his 'brother's' antics.
"If you comply quietly, you won't be in too much pain. Don't worry~"
He kept his confident and unbothered smile. Inwardly, he mocked the girl who tried to act tough.
He heard a sound, it was a strangely terrifying sound.
For some reason, his instinct of a thug that has been through a lot of fights, was alarmed as the girl sighed.
The sigh was deep, unlike anything a child should be able to produce.
Karl also felt something amiss, but unlike his 'Brother', his intuition stopped at the word thug.
"What'cha sighing at? Who do you think you are you b*tch! Just you wait-"
Jeff watched as Karl took a step forward and towards the little girl.
He watched as the girl's head tilted slightly up, allowing him to see her eyes through the strands of hair.
His heart sank. Jeff didn't fully understand this instinct.
As he watched the little girl with cold eyes move, Jeff panicked.
She moved fast, too fast.
Before he realized, the girl appeared in front of his 'Brother', who didn't even manage to change his expression.
The girl's arm flew forward, her fist landing like a thunder on his 'Brother's' nose.
He heard the sound comparable to a metal pipe striking human bones.
It was a sound he often heard.
Just as he registered his 'Brother's' teeth fall out and his nose spill blood like a fountain, he saw the girl's eyes again.
They were cold and emotionless. Dispassionate, like a hungry beast who has found an easy prey.
Jeff believed he was never easy to deal with. He saw himself as a very strong guy. Even in his gang, he was quite well respected.
Even so, the only thing on his mind was to find a way.
A way to escape this beast in a girl's skin.
He tried, he tried very hard to move.
He used his experience and leapt to the side.
But before he could get away, he felt something grab his wrist.
It was small, so small that it couldn't even envelop his wrist fully.
The fingers were soft, nothing like a fighter's.
Even thought the palm was small, the grip was strong. So strong that his bones were creaking.
He felt his body being flung back.
His head spun before he immediately felt pain, his head got smashed against the wall.
He heard his nose break. As something strongly pushed on the back of his head.
His arm, that was previously caught, was held firmly to his back. His muscles screamed in pain.
He tried to move his other hand, only to feel it getting crushed.
His body was throbbing and his face grew numb.
...
Seeing the man try to lift his other arm, Juny clicked her tongue and angrily stomped down on it, pinning it back.
She made sure to pin the man's head beneath her eye level.
Meaning? His legs were limply lying on the ground behind him and his stomach was bending in a rather uncomfortable way.
'Seems like he's got the strength but not the flexibility.'
She smirked.
Strengthening her grip around the man's wrist and pulling his hand higher, she heard the man scream in pain.
'Oh, he's up.'
After thinking for a second about how to look intimidating with a little girl's face, Juny chose to remain emotionless.
"Let me repeat myself, who are you?"
She made sure to sound bored and irritated that the guys made her have to repeat her previous sentence.
She was not worried about the other guy.
With the amount of strength she used, he'll be asleep for a while.
'Or dead. I'm not sure..'
The man's body naturally trembled as she heard him groan and grasp for air.
Sighing out loud, she added pressure on the man's hand with her foot.
Juny could swear she heard cracking sounds.
Another pain-filled scream later, the man seemed quite pleased to talk.
"I- I- I'm Jeff! The Bloody Jeff! And that guy's Karl! He- He doesn't have a nickname, but everyone calls him Gluttony!"
Juny couldn't help but frown.
'Did I ask for your nickname? Also, The Bloody Jeff? Really? You have one scar and that makes you bloody? Are all thugs complete morons?'
As her thoughts mocked the guys' embarrassingly bad naming skills, the man grew nervous.
He felt that he was in great danger.
If he doesn't do something, he would die at this girl's hands.
His pride simply couldn't stand for that.
"Y- You're gonna regret this! I- I'm a high ranking member of The Crimson Brotherhood!'
"..."
'C- Crimson Brotherhood? Are you nuts? What kind of name is that? I'm now seriously concerned for this world's future.'
"..."
She stayed silent but pressed the man's head deeper into the wall.
"Kuak! Huff, Huff! Y- You aren't getting away with this! They're gonna find you! No matter where you run The Brotherhood will- ugh!"
'Get to the important part! Aren't you supposed to start saying all the bad things your gang does?'
Recalling all the films she watched, Juny quickly acted.
"Why should I be concerned with the likes of you?"
'Damn, that's cool!'
Her lips irreversibly twitched upward.
But the man couldn't see that. His eyes long burrowed inside the wall.
"Ugh."
The man's throat produced a sound, but he didn't speak.
Suddenly getting an idea, Juny quickly used Space Manipulation as well as Pocket Dimension.
She pulled out a piece of paper with dark red word written on it in Runic Language: Harm.
As she closed the Pocket Dimension, the paper was immediately infused with spirituality and the symbol glowed.
Using the Space Manipulation, she placed the piece of paper on the back of the man's neck.
Almost immediately, blood chilling scream spread through the alley.
Happy with the effects, Juny kept her cold voice as she probed.
"Well?"
...
Jeff's heart shrank in fear.
He didn't know why he suddenly felt so much pain, maybe it was some sort of psychological effect.
But he could clearly hear the girl's amused tone.
She was laughing at him.
With gritted teeth he began yelling like never before.
"Th- They'll kill you in the worst way you can think of! I guarantee that!"
"H- He, the boss is almighty! H - He can use fire and- and create spears and fire balls! Real huge and terrifying! And that's not all"
"The Guillotine Hader, He'll tear your heart right out! He's the toughest man I've ever seen and- and nothing can ever get him down it- it's like he's got armor a real armor instead of skin! He'll crush your head! E- Especially if he's drinking, he's the strongest when he's drunk!"
The man was getting desperate. He spouted whatever came to his mind, trying to save himself.
Maybe it was because of all the pain, he was hysteric.
"Le- Leyah will crush your skull, I swear! That guy's as strong as a bear! Not just strong, he's got the power to break your brain! You can't win in a battle of minds or muscles! S- So you better back off!"
He finally yelled out.
The place suddenly became quiet.
Just as he saw hope that the girl was spooked, he heard a voice.
A happy and innocent sounding voice.
"Is that so?"
The girl gripping his head chuckled, sending shiver down his spine.
He had a bad premonition. As if, instead of saving himself, he just dug a deeper hole.
The girl spoke again. No longer cold and monotonous.
It was a shrieking and high-pitched voice. It resonated through his ears.
"Sound's fun!"
It was an entertained voice, an anticipating voice.
A voice of a child who has found a new toy.
He felt his hand being released.
He wasn't glad. Because he knew-
He knew that the fact that his hand was free meant that girl's was too.
Before he could even flinch, his vision grew dark and he lost consciousness.
...
Hitting the man's neck, she heard a crack.
'Uh...'
Juny released her grip on his head.
She watched as the man's body slumped down, hitting the ground.
"C- Crack?"
Gulping down her unease, she crouched down.
The man's nose was heavily bleeding with no signs of stopping.
She gently placed her hand before the man's nose and mouth.
"..."
'Nothing...'
Juny gulped, quickly tapping her middle and index fingers with her thumb twice, activating her Material vision.
She made the activation and deactivation possible with both hands. As long as she tapped her index and middle fingers with her thumb on either hand, the Material vision would activate or, in turn, deactivate.
Looking at the man, she saw his spirituality dissipating and his aura grow numb.
'I- I killed him? T- that's not what happens in the movies...'
She looked around frantically before flinching.
Her eyes stopped on the wide man.
'H- He's dead too?'
'I- I just punched him lightly, didn't I?'
Shaking, Juny took a step back, moving away from the bodies.
'W-what next? I can't just leave them here, what if they become ghosts?'
'I read it, they must be purified! B- But I can't just bring two dead bodies to the cemetery! What would I look like?!'
"Oh!"
Getting an idea, she took a deep breath, stretching her neck.
She put strength into her vocal cords.
"Ahhhh!"
She screamed at the top of her lungs in a high-pitched voice that, with her enchanted body, spread across the streets and alleys.
Alerting everyone who was close-by or awake in the span of multiple blocks.
Before running off, Juny took off the beautiful balck necklace and threw it around.
Then, thinking quickly, she used Space Manipulation to mess with the surrounding spirituality, shoving it away to make all divinations on the fight futile.
She only kept some, so that if a divination were to happen, they would only see her screaming in horror before running off.
After messing with the dead's spirits, she leapt away at a normal girls' speed.
Getting out of the divination range she picked up her pace, sprinting at a rapid speed.
She kept running into alleys, and passing the streets.
Before she knew it, she arrived at a familiar location.
'The shopping district... I made a circle..'
After catching her breath, she looked around and sighed.
"That's good, I still need to 'buy' shoes, a shirt and a bag..."
Doing her best to forget her first and second murder, Juny went back to think about her future plans.
With thoughts running through her brain, she began observing the shops.
After a few moments, she stopped at a shoe-shop, wearing a particularly happy smirk.
"Time to shop! After all-"
She giggled, finishing her sentence inwardly.
