Chapter 8: 8
The Feynapotter City
Chapter Text
"Haa..."
With a sigh, the middle-aged lady put down her pen and massaged her temples.
After a few short moments, the middle-aged lady lifted her head.
Looking at the man dressed in clean white shirt and black suit.
"I cannot believe Count Hebral would fall so low as to assassinate my husband."
"I was quite sure he wouldn't dare even if he was given the opportunity to."
Seeing the Baroness filled with doubt the tidy man spoke.
"May I offer you my opinion, madam?"
The middle-aged lady stopped supporting her forehead and looked at the standing man.
"You may."
"I believe he received a certain assistance. As you've said, he did not possess the mental strength to make such a low move."
The middle-aged lady hummed and looked back to the papers in hand.
"What do you think about the 'guests' my daughter brought?"
After pondering over his words, the man carefully spoke.
"The young man has extraordinary strength and instincts. He appears to be quite good at pointing out small details, but also often fails to interpret them in a correct manner. He lacks a great amount of knowledge in many aspects but is able to understand social cues. Strictly speaking, he's very daring but knows when to hold back."
The middle-aged lady nodded, as if making mental notes.
Seeing the middle-aged lady not intervening, the man continued.
"The young girl is both perceptive and curious. But, she too, knows when to hold the reins of her curiosity tightly. She also seems to learn quickly, but her thinking is often too straightforward. She seems to be aware of her appearance and is quite confident. Although her knowledge is not broad, she does specialize in certain areas. This means she often relies on others to fill the holes in her judgments."
The middle-aged lady listened with interest before frowning lightly.
Moving her hand up to stop any further explanation, she asked.
"If the young man lacks greatly in knowledge and the young girl knows many things only in certain areas, how do they effectively get around. Does my daughter contribute to this?"
Hearing the middle-aged lady's question, the man respectfully shook his head.
"No madam. From what I've seen, it is not the young Lady who completes their knowledge. It is the third guest."
Upon hearing this, the middle-aged lady pondered for the moment.
"The little girl? Around 10 years of age?"
The man respectfully nodded.
"That is right, madam."
Hearing the middle-aged lady hum, the man continued.
"The small girl is quite intriguing indeed. She holds great amount of knowledge in many areas. It was discussed between the servants, and I myself have witnessed it. The small girl was educating the young girl and young man about the etiquette and it is said she assisted with the wearing of the high-class clothes we have provided."
The middle-aged lady winced slightly.
"Truly? I assumed it was the young girl or help offered by the hand of my daughter."
The man, once again, respectfully nodded.
"It is indeed the case. The small girl was informing the young man and young girl about most important dining etiquettes and she herself was quite good at following them. Her every action during the meal was precise and she hadn't made singular mistake or misstep throughout."
The middle-aged lady gently brushed through her hair.
"Fascinating, I have failed to notice it."
The man slowly nodded at the middle-aged lady.
"She seems overly cautious for a child her age. She even managed to notice my observations, although she didn't react in any obvious way."
The middle-aged lady mumbled in thought.
"Could she be of noble birth?"
Seeing the middle-aged lady glance at him, the man answered.
"It is very unlikely. Her manner of speech and other tendencies do not match those of the nobles. Also, when she was asked about the intelligence's origin, the little girl simply replied that she has read many books, which did not strike me as false. She simply holds the knowledge and is able to utilize it."
The middle-aged lady tapped the desk with her palm lightly.
"Fascinating."
Seeing that the middle-aged woman had no further questions about the matter, the man continued.
"The young Lady seems to have changed slightly, this could be connected to the assault and death of the Baron, but the changes go deeper than simply psychical changes."
The middle-aged lady sat up straight her face wearing a frown.
"Continue."
The man respectfully nodded.
"I have taken the initiative to observe her actions while in solitude. The young Lady seemed to have gained Beyonder abilities while she was away."
The middle-aged woman's expression froze for a moment before speaking thoughtfully.
"Was this the result of her meeting with the three guests?"
Her voice was slightly raised, but still within the acceptable limit.
The man gently shook his head.
"I am unable to say that for sure, since I have yet to catch them speaking about such matters. They are very on guard against me and the other servants. Especially if the little girl is accompanying them."
The middle-aged woman relaxed slightly.
"Should I speak to her in order to seek answers?"
The man stayed silent for a reasonable amount of time.
"I do not believe that will be necessary, madam."
The middle-aged lady leaned forward slightly.
"Why do you say that?"
The man lightly glanced at the door before swiftly explaining himself.
"I simply believe that the young Lady will come inform you herself."
Before the middle-aged lady could speak again, a light knocking sounded from the door.
"Madam Mailey, the young Lady seeks to converse with you."
Sneaking a look at the man, madam Mailey answered.
"Let her in."
...
"I wonder what I should do..."
Dager, who just stuffed another dessert into his mouth looked at Airina in a questioning way.
Ellone, who just took a sip from her teacup, also failed to understand.
"About what?"
Airina looked at her with an unsure expression.
"I am a Beyonder now... I'm not sure if I should tell my mother."
She played with the biscuit in her hand, uncertainty mixing into the air around her.
"Just don-"
"Tell her."
Everyone jumped and looked to the side.
By a nearby table, Juny, at some point, stopped reading her book and turned to them.
"You should tell her, as soon as possible actually."
The two siblings were confused but chose to stay in the spectating role.
"Why? Won't she start limiting me?"
Airina asked, her eyebrows burrowed into a frown.
"Better being directly restricted than being secretly monitored. Just tell her. It will make things easier in many ways."
Hearing Juny, Airina thought for a moment before asking further.
"Why would I be monitored? I was never monitored in the past."
Juny looked at her, followed by the ceiling and then stopping at her book.
"That's because you weren't a Beyonder then."
Airina turned confused.
"But in her eyes I'm not a Beyonder."
She heard Juny click her tongue.
"As far as I know, she is already aware that you're a Beyonder."
"What?"
All three spoke up at the same time, Dager even spat out small pieces of cake which bought him a hit on the back of his head.
Juny looked at them and smiled, not elaborating.
Seeing this, Airina began thinking and her eyes widened.
"My mother is a Beyonder?!"
The two siblings's heads whipped to Airina and back to Juny.
Juny looked at her deeply before chuckling.
"No way, Beyonders aren't that easy to find."
Airina was about to heave a sigh of relief, when she heard Juny add.
"But your butler is."
"Pffft!"
Ellone spat out her tea while Dager began coughing, his lips curved into an amused smile even amidst choking.
Airina simply stared at Juny silently before reevaluating her views on life.
Juny simply shrugged.
"I was surprised too, it was especially annoying during dinner. He kept on staring at me."
"He was actually staring at you guys too. I'm not sure how you managed to stay oblivious."
With a happy expression, Juny turned back to her book.
"Anyway, if I was you, I'd tell your mother as fast as I can."
"You should trust your family so they will end up doing the same. That's how bonds work."
The room suddenly felt incredibly silent, even Dager stopped coughing.
Juny turned back around and clarified.
"I read that in a book."
...
Airina, who just finished talking, was anxiously awaiting her mother's reaction.
She has told her mother the whole truth about how she has consumed the Beyonder characteristic and was saved by Juny and Ellone.
She didn't mention anything about them being Beyonders, but it wasn't hard to figure out.
Madam Mailey stayed silent for a few moments.
She soon straightened her back and spoke.
"It would be false if I were to tell you that I am glad, but as long as you promise that you will be safe, I am willing to support you in any way you need."
Airina flinched lightly before locking eyes with her mother.
Her lips quivered slightly.
"Please do not fret, mother. The danger I am currently facing is extremely small and my powers can assist me at a critical moment."
'And my friends.'
She added inwardly.
Seeing her, madam Mailey nodded lightly.
"That shall be all. Thank you for trusting me, Airina."
Airina flinched after hearing her name, but soon smiled.
"Thank you, mother. I will see you at lunch."
She stood up and gave a curtesy bow.
"I will see you at lunch."
Madam Mailey nodded with a smile as she watched her daughter walk away.
As the doors closed, she first observed the butler for a moment before going back to her work.
...
"You'll be leaving?"
Airina, who just returned, couldn't help but exclaim.
Dager shrugged while Ellone looked at Juny.
Juny, still reading by the table, looked at them with a smile.
"We can't stay here, you should know that."
Airina froze for a short second before slowly nodding.
Juny turned back to her book and gently closed it.
"We have our own reasons for coming here, we can't do much if we're under a Baron's protection."
Before Airina could interrupt, Juny added.
"And even if we could, when we inevitably get found out, both your mother and you might be targeted."
Airina was silent, but she understood what Juny meant.
Her eyes slowly moved to the floor.
"Also,"
Airina looked back at Juny, who has now stood up.
"You have your own problems to solve. We'll still keep in touch, so we can help each other. Who knows, maybe our goals will end up aligning in the end."
Juny offered her an encouraging smile before giving her a small metal plate.
"If there's ever anything urgent, you can simply activate it. The Carving can last up to half a year, I'll come to renew it then."
Airina looked at the small metal plate with a strange symbol and nodded.
She has heard about Juny's tracking charms which alarm her when activated, she simply believed that this was a longer lasting one.
Juny nodded and looked at her clothes.
They have long gotten back their old and washed clothes.
'It smells better than when I use the RecoveryEnchantment...'
After a round of cleaning after themselves, they bid Airina and madam Mailey farewell.
Leaving the estate, they went to look for a place to stay.
"We should go and buy some fake ID's first."
Juny pointed out as they went over the housing notices.
Dager looked at her, thought for a moment, and nodded.
"I'll do that, making my age differ by one year is very simple and Ellone looks very mature anyway."
Ellone hummed.
"Mhm. We could act like a rich lady and her lover who want to start a new life."
"Ha! pft."
Juny choked on her own saliva as she held back her laughter.
'Ignoring the fact that you're siblings, just how much confidence do you have in your beauty?'
As she thought that, she scanned Ellone and quickly looked away.
'Beauties have it easy~'
Dager frowned for no more than a minute but soon nodded.
"That actually sounds quite plausible. I'll do the talking, you must act like a naive girl."
Ellone looked at her brother and slowly nodded.
"Yes, let's do that."
Juny watched this with a blank expression.
'Where did they learn... It wasn't from me, right? It couldn't be.'
Juny began seriously considering if her raising skills are so terrible.
'Wait, I am a child! I didn't raise them! Ptoey!'
Feeling her mind being thrown into disarray, she glanced back at the two.
Seeing Ellone already grabbing her brother by the arm, Juny didn't question it.
"Sure, good luck. I'll just make some friends I guess."
The two siblings whipped their heads around.
"Don't kill anyone!"
"Make sure to hold back!
Juny flinched, but then smiled.
"Oh please, I know how to be polite. I won't cause problems during the first visit."
With a smirk, she threw them two Enchanted metal plates.
"See you soon."
With that, Juny began walking away.
...
The man's face was bright red.
He stared at his cards, his self confidence wavering.
'Ace of cubs and Ace of hearts.'
Logically speaking, there shouldn't be a way for him to lose.
His eyes moved to the table.
'Four of hearts, Two of spades, Ace of diamonds, Four of diamonds...'
'Full house...'
Logically speaking, there shouldn't be a way for him to lose.
His eyes wandered to his opponent, whose chips were neatly placed in towers.
He then turned to look at the floor next to his opponent.
All the aggressive men who got angry after their loss were punched and knocked out in the worst ways.
If he himself hadn't checked it, he wouldn't be able to believe that his opponent wasn't cheating.
Noone saw them hide away a card or use the counting.
The dealers have also been changed multiple times.
And it wasn't like his opponent never lost.
They only got good cards once in a while, so it couldn't be said that they were lucky, they mainly just knew how to bluff with perfection.
He watched as the dealer revealed the last card: Three of spades.
'This...'
the man's heart jumped. He watched as his opponent tapped on the table and checked.
Soon, he pushed his chips forward.
"All in."
He watched as his opponent's eyes scanned him up and down before looking at the chips.
A few seconds of silence later, the opponent pushed their own chips forward.
Compared to his 'all in' it was a painfully small portion of their chips.
As the last one to raise, the man revealed his cards first.
"Full House!"
His voice rose slightly.
He watched his opponent sigh in discontent.
Feeling happy, he saw his opponent's cards and the slightly high-pitched voice.
"Four of a Kind..."
The voice didn't sound happy at all.
The man's eyes glazed over, but he didn't complain.
He did this to himself, he lost.
He lost like the rest of them...
To a child.
...
Juny watched as the slouched man walked away.
She felt bad.
That man was quite nice, he didn't get angry even when she bluffed.
He sometimes asked her to prove that she wasn't cheating, but that was normal.
The man wasn't even mean about it.
"He must have kids of his own..."
Looking down at her chips, she sighed.
'This is at least 10 000 risot... I really wasn't using my Beyonder abilities.'
She slowly stood up and put on her coat, which she took off to show her empty sleeves.
She didn't lie to the siblings, she didn't start a singular fight.
But she did end quite a few.
Seeing her stand up, the dealer heaved a sigh of relief.
Juny looked at him, but didn't blame him.
She never wanted to win so much, she just wanted to relive her past memories.
'Who'd think everyone is so easy to read now... it's not even fun..'
Juny put her chips away and began walking over to the counter.
"Wait."
Juny stopped, feeling exasperated.
'Can't I even leave in peace?'
She turned around to see a tall man.
Not too tall, but tall enough for her.
"Yes sir?"
She spoke calmly and respectfully, like she has been speaking this whole time.
The man looked at her chips, at the dealer and back at her.
"You new around here?"
Before she could reply, the tall man added.
"I think I'd notice you before if not."
Juny nodded in understanding.
"I'm often told that I stand out. And yes, I have arrived today."
The man looked at her chips, but before he could say anything the girl spoke.
"I didn't cheat."
She knew that over explaining is the cause for suspicion, but she also felt like she needed to over verify it.
The man nodded at her.
"I know, we checked."
'So you know I'm a Beyonder but also know I haven't used the powers to my advantage... cool.'
Hearing him, Juny's head turned to look behind the man.
He saw a lady, she was also taller than normal, but not quite.
Juny would compare her to Ellone.
She then looked back at him.
"I don't plan on playing anymore. I probably won't come back either."
The man nodded again and spoke.
"You won't be allowed to play anymore, but you can always come back."
'Oho? You're opening your information to a kid? Gutsy aren't we.'
Juny's eyes widened before frowning slightly.
"Excuse me for saying this, but you're quite strange, mister. I usually have to punch people to be invited in."
The woman jumped slightly before covering her newly appeared smile with her hand.
The man looked at her and smirked.
"It's good that I came then, the name's Degster."
Juny noted the name and nodded.
"I see, thank you. Allow me to wish you a good day."
Juny said, bowing her head before turning away.
"Sure."
...
Soon, Juny met up with the siblings again.
They have already found a house to rent.
The house was by the edge of the city where it was never too busy.
The rent was 10 risot a week, which was very acceptable.
The house had an open living room with a connected kitchen.
There were a total of three rooms.
A room for couples with a big bed, a singe room and a single room connected with a study.
After a bit of bickering, Dager, who actually needed to sleep, would be in the room with a large bed.
Juny honestly had no need for such a gigantic room, so she went for the one with a study.
Ellone felt a pinch about losing the big room, but came to terms with it after losing an argument with her brother.
"Can we pay yearly rent?"
Juny asked as they munched on some of her earthly cooking.
Swallowing a bite, Dager pointed out.
"Wouldn't that be suspicious?"
Juny looked at him.
"How would it?"
Ellone, understanding where Dager was coming from, spoke up.
"Well, where would we get the money? Don't forget our cover."
Juny looked at her strangely.
"Yea... a rich lady running away, wouldn't she take as much money as she could? Acting like you don't have the money will make it suspicious when you start acting like you have it."
The two siblings looked at each other and Ellone nodded.
"I'll talk to the Landlord tomorrow. I'll say that we just wanted to check it out first."
Juny agreed and took another bite.
...
The next few days were like a one big deja vu.
Dager walked the bars and underground markets.
It was interesting to see the difference of a few kilometers.
The bars and casinos were very different than in the Inizio city.
Ellone was a bit more confused than Dager.
The streets were wide and the amount of stray animals was also much bigger.
She has already tamed a short-furred black cat.
She also gave Juny quite the headache.
Ellone kept asking strange questions like: 'can I make a cat into a Vampire' or 'is there a way to make an animal into a Beyonder'.
Although Juny felt that Ellone's questions were unbelievably bizarre, she still searched the books in the Dimensional Space.
Surprisingly, she learned that turning an animal into a Beyonder was possible.
But the chances of it failing were very high.
Seeing Ellone talking to the cat as if she had gone crazy, Juny finally asked the question.
"What Pathway do yo- i mean, does she want to be?"
Ellone was very strict when it came to referring to her tamed animals.
Ellone thought for a moment before asking.
"Which would be the most useful for a cat?"
Juny was silent for a second. Gulping down her discomfort, she spoke.
"Spectator?"
Ellone thought for a moment before looking up and asking.
"If I gave her the Seer potion and she became a faceless, would she be able to turn into a human?"
Juny watched the excited Ellone with a strange expression.
"I- I'm not sure... but probably not? She could maybe turn into a baby though."
"Also, I think that's very unethical. I don't think a cat with paws can make proper divination and at the Clown Sequence her already extreme balance would only strengthen. And how would she throw papers? It just isn't worth it."
Ellone looked at the very serious Juny and nodded.
"Spectator it is then."
Juny sighed.
"Ellone... You know that she might die, right?"
Ellone flinched and looked at the black cat.
She then looked up at Juny.
"She won't, she's a smart cat."
Juny stared at Ellone for a long minute before making her way into the Dimensional Space.
'I can't believe I'm really doing this...'
Juny's movements were very sluggish.
Picking up the ingredients, she complained.
'This is crazy... I can't believe I'm really doing this.'
She walked out of the Dimensional SpaceShe walked out of the Dimensional Space and looked down at the cat.
"Do you think she'll learn how to speak?"
She looked at the excited Ellone who just asked another weird question.
Putting the ingredients down she shook her head.
"Probably... I mean, she technically could. The potion will boost her intellect after all."
She slowly conducted the potion.
Pouring it into a bowl, Juny couldn't help but confirm.
"You sure you want this?"
Seeing Ellone nod and the cat meow, she truly felt that the cat was smart.
Juny put the bowl down and took a step back.
Watching the cat walk forward and, by her own will, drink the potion, Juny felt strange.
Finally, the bowl was emptied and the cat sat down.
She looked at Ellone who was smiling.
"Hello Kiki!"
The cat stared for a while before her mouth opened.
But no meow came out.
"Hello Ellone."
Juny's mouth dropped.
'That fast?'
She then looked up at Ellone who seemed super excited but not surprised.
'Is this normal? Or is the cat just a genius.'
Kiki stretched before looking at her paws and back at Ellone.
"I don't like the name."
Ellone froze for a moment before nodding thoughtfully.
"That makes sense. What name do you want?"
The cat looked at her and shook her tiny head.
"I don't know."
Juny felt like this conversation was out of this world, but then she remembered that she was in a different world.
She quickly changed her viewpoint and spoke.
"The name is too pet like? Do you want something more neutral?"
The cat looked at her, Juny felt uncomfortable but didn't turn away.
"Yes."
Juny once again held back her discomfort at the talking cat.
Juny wondered for a moment and asked.
"Is there a sound you like?"
The cat pondered for a second and then nodded, mimicking humans.
"I like the starting sound of that human man."
Thinking for a minute she finally understood the cat.
"Da? The start of Dager? Do you want a name that starts with Da?"
Ellone watched this and felt perplexed.
'How is Juny so good at understanding animals? I thought she would need a while to process it.'
Seeing the cat nod, Juny began her thinking.
'Daisy is the first that comes to mind. But the Da in Daisy is different from the Da in Dager. Uhhh. Darmine? Is that too long? Da... Da... Daphne? That's plagiarism... Hmm.'
Juny looked back to the cat.
"Darmine or Daphne?"
She saw the cat's ears flinch before tilting slightly.
"I like that. I like the first one."
'Really, Darmine? What a strange taste you have.'
"Sure."
Juny nodded and looked at Ellone.
"You made the decision so you have to teach Darmine. Let her learn how to read and teach her more complex words. I won't take part in it."
It was Ellone's turn to be absolutely stunned, but she nodded nonetheless.
"Sure. Darmine, come. I'll show you the map first."
The cat Darmine, wasn't opposed to it.
Juny watched the two walk away.
'What a smart cat...'
She grew sentimental once again.
'It kind of makes me miss my kitty... No! Juny! Your cat was gray! There're absolutely no similarities between them!'
'You can't get depressed over every little detail! You dimwit!'
Laughing, Juny walked out of the house.
...
Ed was laughing and chatting with his friends.
It was a calm evening, they played a few rounds of cards but noone lost more than 5 risot.
It was satisfying to have a good day for once.
The doors opened and a few guys casually looked towards it.
A young lady walked in, she couldn't be over twenty.
She had short brown hair with brown eyes.
Ignoring the familiar lady who often visited this bar, Ed turned back to his beer.
Not long after he went back to chattering, his attention was caught again.
The commotion was slowly getting louder and the man couldn't help but turn around.
Surprisingly, the familiar lady was being grabbed by the hand.
The muscly guy who held her was a new and unfamiliar face.
Ed, who has been coming here for little over two weeks, frowned.
His body moved to stand up before he heard a snort.
He looked at his friend with a frown.
Seeing Ed look at him, John pointed at the muscly man.
"He's must be new around here."
Ed, who was also new didn't understand this sentence.
'And what if he's new? Shouldn't we help the lady?'
Noticing the gaze, John laughed out loud.
"That's right! You haven't seen it yet."
Ed was now even more confused.
Another one of his friends, Ricksaw, spoke up.
"This kind of thing is not something we should intervene in."
John nodded and pointed to the bar with his chin.
"Look."
Turning around, Ed saw a figure slowly jumping down a bar stool.
The figure was alarmingly short and dressed in a strange manner.
"What?"
Ed exclaimed, still filled with confusion.
His two friends looked at each other and snickered.
"You're lucky. We're in for a show."
Ed just gave them a perplexed look.
...
Juny slowly walked to the man and stopped right next to him.
The man has yet to notice her.
She looked at the lady who frequented this bar.
"Good evening Jen! How are you doing?"
She spoke in awfully high-pitched voice, alarming the man.
The lady, Jen, looked at her and smiled.
"I'm in a bit of a predicament."
The man shot Juny an angry glare.
"Who are you? Mind your own f*cking business!"
The man' face was bright red.
Juny didn't look at him and continued to smile at Jen.
"Do you want me to help?"
Her voice was in no way aggressive. If anything, it sounded extremely childish.
This only further angered the man.
Jen looked at Juny, her lips twitching slightly.
"Yes please."
Juny gently nodded.
The man, now completely enraged, let go of Jen and instead reached for Juny's neck.
Just then, he saw the girl's eyes turn to him as she continued smiling.
Before he could retract his arm, the girl's hand moved.
Her fingers wrapped around his wrist as she took a step back.
Juny put some strength into her legs as she effortlessly lifted the man by the arm and slammed him over her head and into the ground.
She still tightly held his twisted wrist as she kicked the side of his head.
The man's body instantly went limp. His face still slammed into the ground.
Strangely enough, nothing around him was destroyed, even the floor remained fully intact.
Juny grabbed the man by the neck and dragged him towards the door.
She saw a man stand up from one of the tables and walk towards the door.
The door creaked and the man held it open for her.
She smiled at the man.
"Hi John, how are you?"
The man holding the door, John, smiled and nodded.
"Great, just having a drink with some friends."
Juny lightly threw the unconscious body out of the bar and onto the street as she nodded.
"Glad to hear that."
John chuckled before nodding his head towards the table.
"My friend, over there, is new."
Following his gaze, Juny saw a man whose mouth was open wide.
Juny smirked and looked back at John.
"Does your friend with a loose jaw want a drink?"
Hearing this, Ed quickly closed his mouth.
He was now confused why this girl, as small as a mouse but with the strength of a bear, was offering him a drink.
Ricksaw quickly explained.
"Juny always buys new ones a drink."
An unknown man from a different table spoke out.
"That's right, when it first happened, she bought a drink for the whole bar."
The guys around the man laughed.
Ed, who came to an understanding looked at the girl they called Juny and nodded.
"A beer."
He saw the girl smirk with amusement.
"You got it."
She then bid them goodbye and walked back to her bar stool.
Not less than a minute after, she placed a beer before him.
After giving him a smile she walked back, not offering a second glance.
...
That night marked one and a half months since Juny arrived in the Feynapotter city.
A little after the one month mark, Juny fully digested her potion and, with some minor trouble, advanced to a Sequence 5 Spell Maker.
The ritual was to be in a place with no light, no sound, no temperature and no space.
It sounded overly complex, but it really wasn't.
As she expected, the Dimensional Space had an area exactly for that.
Taking a deep breath, Juny stepped into the darkness.
While inside, she silently watched the entrance close before disappearing.
Looking around her, Juny felt overwhelmed by the lack of light.
She felt that she finally understood the meaning of 'no space'.
There were no walls, no floor, no ceiling.
There was just endless darkness.
Juny pulled out the potion and gulped it down.
At first, it was like a cold jelly, but as it flowed down her throat, she felt as if she has eaten a hot pepper.
She flinched lightly.
Looking down at her hand, she saw that it was radiating bright light.
She felt her body heating up and glowing with great amount of light.
But nothing happened.
Juny was not blinded, nor was she hot in the sense of almost dying.
She could feel the air around her vibrate.
She was sure that it was heating up, but she felt nothing.
Because the space Juny was in had no temperature.
She couldn't be blinded because all light was immediately consumed by the space with no light.
She saw her body glow in different colors and stop at blue.
Juny felt connected to the space around her.
She felt the coldness which was affecting all the empty darkness around her.
But again, no freezing occurred.
The coldness was consumed as the neutral temperature stayed unaffected.
The coldness which should've killed her and the heat meant to boil her, didn't exist.
Juny's connection with the space around her grew.
She felt that every smallest corner of the spaceless space was just an another limb of hers.
The space shrunk. It shrunk so much that if she were in a room, the walls would've crushed her.
But she was unaffected.
Both the shrinking and the extreme expanding did nothing.
In a place where space wasn't present, there was nothing to affect.
Understanding this, Juny slowly began controlling the space around her.
She used her spirituality and allowed the glow to mix with the darkness.
Soon, her body had no more light left and the space around her came under her full control.
In a sense, her advancement to Sequence 5 was easier than the advancement to Sequence 6.
Very soon, Juny felt the space and herself become one.
She allowed the space to tear and the door leading outside appeared.
Feeling relieved, Juny went over her additional powers.
She was very pleased.
'Spell Maker: my Space Awareness is enchanted to the extreme.
My Space Manipulation is greatly boosted with a range of 250 meters and limit of 90 kilograms.
I can also create an area of effect which I can expand, shrink and change the temperature of.
There is an interesting aspect of the expansion and shrinkage. I can only do so to a certain extent or else I will suffer a backlash like my bones shattering or my insides twisting... This is very similar to my fight against the gang leader Chasm.'
'My Space Solidification can last up to 2 hours. The Pocket Dimension can open up to 5 meters wide and has a space of 20 cubic meters.'
'My Runic vocabulary is a lot wider. I can now mix the runes connected with Enchantment to create more complex ones. So if I connect Strengthen and Recovery, I can use two Enchantments without the problem of overlapping. I've also learned another Enchantment Rune: Isolation. This just isolates any entity which makes contact with it. Isolation means that it cannot interact with others but also cannot be interacted with... like becoming a ghost. This is good for fighting without destruction.'
'Sorcery Runes... this is where the broader vocabulary comes in handy. I can use Rune Carving to carve out Runic symbols and create one-time spells. So like, if I combine multiple Runes, I can create a teleportation spell to a certain place. But it's only one time and it will disappear immediately after. If I want to make teleportation based Magic, I need some sort of item from the Door Domain. This can be blood of a person from this Domain or a Beyonder ingredient/characteristic. Mystical item also works.'
'With this comes a Spell Scroll. It's a paper which one can Carve into. As long as I Carve the Isolation Rune anywhere onto the Spell Scroll, I can make it unable to dissipate. When the spell is used, the Spell Scroll will immediately vanish.'
'Domain Infusion. This is similar to an Artisan. I can create a Mystical Weapon. If I have a Beyonder Characteristic, I can use Domain Infusion to merge it into a weapon.'
'The thing is... a Mystical Weapon is not a full Mystical Item, which makes the negative effects very mild. But the characteristic will also try to separate from the weapon. To stop it, the Mystical Weapon has to be infused with spirituality every eight days.'
'I can use Isolation for the scabbard though. That way, I'll be able to reduce the time till the separation happens. Infusion is needed every 2 months with the scabbard.'
'Last power is Space Isolation. This is a large Area of Effect ability. It's like creating a Space into which I can forcefully Isolate any entity or a group of entities. The area ranges from 500 to 3000 meters. This is literally just for fights. No destruction or death will happen in this area.'
Juny nodded to herself and left the Dimensional Space.
With a smile, she looked at the towering buildings outside her window.
'The fun is about to start.'
Thinking that, Juny went to bed.
From now on, it was time to hunt the evil lurking inside the Feynapotter city.
