Chapter 7: 7

Aristocracy

Chapter Text

Juny calmly watched the landscape outside of the carriage change.

With the speed they were moving at, they would arrive in the Feynapotter city in around two days.

With that knowledge, Juny began to miss quick transport, like cars and busses.

Normally, if they wished to travel to a big city like the Feynapotter city, they would take the train.

But, the thing was, there was no train leading to the Feynapotter city from the Inizio city.

This left them with two choices: they either take a carriage to a different city and then take the train, or they take a carriage that goes directly to the Feynapotter city.

And since their group was very... young.

They decided that directly taking the carriage was the safest option.

Other than the three underage and one 18 year old girl, there were a couple more people inside the carriage.

An older man, a young lady with a black hound, a mother with a young boy and a young man with an adventurous vibe to him.

The carriage was actually very lively, the mother was quite talkative and the young lady was bored, so she spoke as well.

Ellone and Airina joined in many times while the male part of the carriage stayed silent.

And Juny, she felt that a 10 year old joining the conversation would simply make others uncomfortable.

She decided to stay silent throughout the entire travel, only.

"Tomy, why don't you go play with that cute girl, she seems around your age."

Juny's world instantly shattered as she instinctively looked at Dager, who sat opposite her.

He was covering his mouth and clearly trying very hard to hold back his laughter.

'I don't want to play with a kid...'

Unlike her wishes, the boy seemed more than happy to have someone he could play with.

Walking over, the small boy spoke.

"Hi! Want to be my friend?"

Juny flinched.

'Too straightforward! You're being way too straightforward!'

Juny's brain was on overload thinking of a way out.

Looking at the boy's expectant eyes, Juny secretly sighed.

'I am a child, a child... How should a child act in this situation?'

'S-Should I be straightforward as well?'

Juny showed a very happy expression and made her voice very high-pitched.

"Sure!"

"Pft!"

Juny's gaze whipped up at Dager.

'What are you laughing at? How else am I supposed to act?'

Ignoring her distaste, she patted the place next to her on the bench.

Unlike what she was afraid of, the kids's conversation was completely led by the boy.

'How long did he have to travel to have so much to say...'

It was quite obvious that Juny was the first 'child' his age the boy has seen in a while.

"I'm going there with my mom! That's my mom! Where's your mom?"

"..."

Juny's smile froze for a second. The image of her own mother and miss Mari flashed through her mind.

'Buried underground? No, I cannot say that...'

'I can't go around trauma dumping on little kids.'

With a smile, she spoke.

"My mommy is in the city! I'm coming to visit with my... older siblings!"

The three young adults flinched but didn't speak out.

Juny decided to make this more interesting as she began pointing.

"This is my oldest sissy, that's my second oldest sissy and that's my brother."

She then leaned closer to the boy and whispered. It was the kind of whisper that actually wasn't a whisper at all.

"He's very strong and he's got a ton of cool stories!"

The boy's eyes sparkled as he looked at Dager.

"Really?! Can I hear some?"

Dager shot Juny a glare but she just sticked out her tongue before showing a childish smile.

"Yes! He always likes to tell stories!"

She then turned to Dager.

"Isn't that right, Brother~?"

Dager's whole body shook, but he flashed a smile.

"Sure."

He could see his sister snickering by his side and Airina hiding her face by looking outside the carriage.

Dager complained inwardly, but there was no going back now.

His mind boiled as he thought up some random story and began talking.

At some point in time, he was the only one talking in the entire carriage as everyone seemed interested.

He was just describing his fight against Hader but in a child-friendly manner.

His sister, who was present during the fight, couldn't help but start eyeing him out.

Suddenly, Dager stopped mid-sentence.

His gaze moved outside the carriage as he frowned.

He was not the only one who did this.

Juny, Ellone and even the male adventurous man all looked in the same direction with a frown.

Thinking quickly, Juny looked at the confused boy and spoke.

"Friend?"

Seeing that he turned to her, she continued.

"Could you to back to your mom? I want to ask by cool brother something."

The boy seemed dejected, but still walked back to his mother without complaint.

Juny jumped off the bench and spoke to Dager.

She used Space Solidification to make a transparent and soundproof wall, that separated the four and the rest of the passengers.

"At least 4 Beyonders, they have a Sequence 6, or a Mystical item of the same Sequence."

Dager looked at her and nodded.

Looking at the passengers, Juny continued.

"I'll stay behind and provide long distance support. Airina, you stay behind too, you don't have any fighting skills."

She then slowly pulled out a gun from her Pocket Dimension and handed it to Dager.

He took it and quickly hid it away.

Juny looked at Ellone.

"What do you need?"

Ellone's eyes moved from the particular spot and looked at Juny.

"My throwing bottles and maybe a knife. I've never used a gun before, so that wouldn't work out."

Nodding, Juny pulled out Ellone's stuff and quickly went back to sit down, retracting the soundproof wall.

Mare seconds later, the carriage stopped and loud shouts could be heard outside.

"Make everyone come out if you want to leave unharmed!"

Soon, the carriage door banged open and the carriage driver stood outside, shaking.

This wasn't a carriage with any goods, it was purely a carriage with passengers.

The older man and adventurous man walked out first, followed by the mother with the boy and the young lady with a hound.

Then Juny with Dager and last Ellone with Airina.

Juny quickly activated Material Vision and whispered to the three around her.

"Four Beyonders, one Sequence 6, the leader I assume. One Sequence 7 and two Sequences 8... this is no ordinary bandit crew."

Juny heard Airina gulp as Dager asked.

"Can you tell which pathway?"

Juny stayed silent for a second before giving a hypothesis.

"The leader is way too tall, I'm guessing a Dawn Paladin of the Twilight Giant Pathway. He's very battle oriented. The Sequence 7 has pale skin and red irises, for sure a Vampire. The other two... it's hard to guess, but one is quite muscly and tall maybe also the Twilight Giant Pathway? A Pugilist. And the last one... no idea."

Dager nodded and looked at his sister.

"I can take on the Vampire, I'm prepared."

Hearing that, he sighed and wondered.

'Will I have to try and battle the Sequence 6? But, even with Juny supporting me, can I really fight a Dawn Paladin specialized in combat?'

Seeing Dager's indecisiveness, Juny spoke up.

"I'll fight him."

The three looked at her with dumbfounded eyes.

"What? I just told you they're no normal group of bandits, and they picked a random carriage with no goods, only people."

"The chance they're looking for someone is very high, and the possibility of that someone being Airina is even higher."

"Not to mention, I'm a really good match for the Twilight Giant Pathway. We're both specialists in combat and weapons but I am better at magic. I have an advantage against him."

Seeing the three slowly nodding, Juny looked away and slowly began taking her Enchanted knives and papers out of her Pocket Dimension and hiding them inside her coat.

The four of them walked all the way outside and saw that in front of the carriage stood another group of people.

Juny sighed and turned to Dager.

"You take the two Sequence 8s, Airina will try to protect the passengers."

As she said that, she walked closer to Airina and gave her a gun.

Airina's hand flinched away but she took it in theend, sliding it underneath her clothes.

"Don't attack immediately, let's see what they want first. We will use the surprise to our advantage."

Juny's inner coat was already filled with Runes and Enchantments.

She was strict when it came to the saying 'What can go wrong, will go wrong.' and thus was always prepared for a fight.

The total of five adults, three young adults and two children stood in front of the group of eight men and women.

The leader, suspected Dawn Paladin, swiped his eyes across the passengers before stopping on the young lady with the hound.

He looked her up and down before moving his gaze over to the adventurous man.

He kept his eyes still for a total of 5 seconds before moving again.

He did this with everyone before frowning.

Finally, his eyes landed on Juny.

She felt chills, Juny felt like something monstrous was looking at her.

Her hair stood on end her spirituality instinctively seeped out.

Her fingers tingled and she took a defensive stance.

The three young adults surrounding her noticed this change and began to feel suspicious.

Juny watched the Dawn Paladin's frown ceased and his lips twitched.

Juny immediately understood.

She opened her mouth.

"He knew."

The three seemed confused.

Juny elaborated, still in defensive mode.

"He knew there was a Sequence 6 on the carriage."

The three flinched and looked at the tall man.

Technically, there wasn't a reason to feel like that was strange.

Juny could do it, why wouldn't the Dawn Paladin?

But Juny's reaction threw them off.

Juny's hands were sweating.

'They must have it, someone with Material vision.'

Acting quickly, Juny tapped her fingers together and scanned the Beyonders.

She knew it was impossible. Except for the Dawn Paladin and the Vampire, there were only two other Sequence 8s and they couldn't have Material Vision even if they were of The Void Pathway.

Her heart was beating fast, she scanned the people again, but saw nothing.

Her eyes moved to the nearby forest edge as she tried hard to catch a glimpse of something.

Then, she felt it. The blood inside of her felt it.

There was a being in that forest. A being that consumed what is shouldn't. A being that saw what it shouldn't. A cursed being.

She pursed her lip as her eyes stayed on the forest.

She couldn't see it, but she could instinctively feel it.

Her blood boiled.

Her pupils grew larger but thinner. Like a lizard's.

Something inside of her was reacting and Violet-black flames appeared at the tips of her fingers.

She felt rage, remembering miss Mari, she felt rage.

She didn't know why, but she despised anyone who was of the same Pathway.

This was because she knew. No, she didn't actually know anything, but she felt it.

That person was not of the Lapis bloodline. That person was cursed.

That person was cursed to be unable to show any hostility towards her.

Juny's throat throbbed.

"There's another Sequence 7. We can't fight, it's too risky."

She whispered, just enough for the three around her to hear.

The three looked at the trembling youth and followed her eyes towards the forest.

Airina couldn't help but ask.

"What are we going to do then?"

Juny's eyes darted from the forest back to the Dawn Paladin who continued observing her in silence.

"We have to flee, this is too dangerous."

The three were confused but still nodded.

Juny's hand slowly moved to the Lapis necklace hanging on her neck, only...

"You."

Just then, the Dawn Paladin pointed at her and spoke.

"Can we have a chat?"

His voice was deep but not overly oppressive.

Juny couldn't help but flinch.

She kept her hand on the necklace as she stared at the man.

All of the carriage passengers were now looking straight at the 10 year old girl.

Juny didn't bother with their gazes and answered the man.

"I'd rather not. I'm easy to befriend but I'm also not an idiot."

The Dawn Paladin's smile widened.

"Is that so? You want to escape and leave the others to perish?"

Juny's eyebrow twitched.

"You've got some nerve. Chat or not, the others aren't involved. What you want to do to them won't change no matter what decision I make."

Before the Dawn Paladin managed to answer, Juny added.

"Also, how do you know that I don't have a way to move everyone away at once?"

The Dawn Paladin flinched and turned to look at the three surrounding Juny and then back at her.

He seemed to be weighing something.

A moment passed before he looked at the carriage driver.

"You can leave, but those four are staying behind."

The three young adults jumped and turned to look at Juny.

She wore an uncertain look.

Looking at the three young adults around her, then at the Dawn Paladin, then at the carriage passengers and finally at the foreset.

Her eyes narrowed.

Her hand slowly moved away from her necklace.

"Something strange is happening."

She pointed out, still cautiously eyeing down the Dawn Paladin.

Although the driver and the passengers were all unsure, they didn't question and boarded the carriage.

Ellone finally spoke out.

"I'm confused."

Dager and Airina looked at her before nodding.

"Me too."

"So am I, I thought we were running away."

Juny ignored them and waited for the carriage to move far away before speaking.

"They're dying I presume?"

The three's mouths gaped.

In this bizarre situation, who's dying?

The Dawn Paladin moved his gaze up before nodding.

"That's right. Although we don't know why."

Juny felt the need to scoff.

'Of course she's dying, she was cursed without being provided with the preservation ritual.'

"How long ago was it?"

She asked again, still cautious.

The Dawn Paladin looked towards the forest and then the Vampire next to him.

The pale man exhaled and answered.

"Five months and three weeks ago."

Hearing that, Juny's body froze in place.

She, slowly, opened her mouth.

"And they're still alive?"

She felt that it was unbelievable.

The Void Pathway curse was very complicated and there were many rules that applied to different circumstances.

There is one that states that if a living being were to consume a Beyonder characteristic of The Void Pathway that has been cursed, they must receive a preservation ritual.

This ritual will allow the being to survive and also become a Beyonder of The Void Pathway.

The ritual must be done by a direct descendant of the Lapis family while that said person must be of the same or a higher Sequence.

The being can survive up to four months after becoming a Beyonder of The Void Pathway even without the ritual.

Once the time runs out, the Beyonder characteristic will be forcefully removed and transported back into the Dimensional Space.

There is a large possibility of this extraction taking away the being's life.

During the absence of the preservation ritual, the being can sense their 'hope', meaning those of the Lapis bloodline.

And those of the Lapis bloodline can also vaguely sense the curse.

This is only at the instance that the Material Vision is active on both parties.

Technically speaking, there shouldn't be a way for a Beyonder of The Void Pathway to survive without the preservation ritual for longer than four months while also keeping their status of a Beyonder.

Which is what made Juny so confused.

The Vampire was caught slightly off guard by her surprise but he soon came to realization.

"We've kept her spirituality sealed to slow the separation. But it's wearing off."

Hearing that, Juny immediately snapped back.

"Then when it does separate, she'll end up dead no matter what."

The group behind the Dawn Paladin all frowned but didn't speak out.

The group behind Juny though, was simply very confused.

"The longer you keep it out, the worse the backlash when separating."

The Vampire was silent for a while before sighing.

"That's what we figured as well."

The Dawn Paladin spoke again.

"Can you help?"

Hearing the man, Juny's face noticeably contorted.

It twisted so much, that the entire group behind the Dawn Paladin jumped and instantly moved to get their weapons.

The Dawn Paladin lifted his hand to stop them and continued to look at Juny.

Juny, on the other hand, had a bad taste in her mouth.

"Even if I could help, why should I?"

The trio behind her moved slightly closer to her.

They feared that the Dawn Paladin would get angry and attack.

But that didn't happen, the Dawn Paladin was calm, as if he anticipated it.

"She might not be the most righteous but that doesn't mean she deserves death."

Juny quickly snapped back.

"I'm not giving her death, I'm leaving her to die. There's a huge difference between the two."

Without letting the man to interrupt her, she continued.

"She consumed something she shouldn't have, that's not on me, nor will I feel bad for leaving her."

The Dawn Paladin frowned and spoke.

"You're wrong."

"What?"

He sighed.

"She didn't consume the Beyonder characteristic. It was a potion."

Juny froze.

"A potion? That's not possible."

The Dawn Paladin explained.

"It was given to her, she didn't conduct it."

"Who gave it to her?"

Juny's mind was overwhelmed with questions.

The Dawn Paladin didn't fault her.

Instead, he looked at the three surrounding Juny and spoke.

"A lady, she calls her 'mentor'. More than a year ago, the mentor gave her a sequence 7 potion and told her to drink it when she was ready."

"The bottle seemed strange and the lady pointed out that it was 'Isolated' and that the potion would stay like that for at least a year."

"She told us that she would come to finish the ritual around this time, but she never appeared."

Hearing this, Juny's memories stirred.

"W-what did the woman look like."

She stuttered, getting a bad feeling.

The Dawn Paladin didn't exactly understand her reaction but spoke nonetheless.

"Not too tall with long black hair. Not too long but not very short either. She often wore pants with a dress. She also always wore a black necklace with blue..."

The man froze mid-sentence and quietly looked at the girl.

The girl was staring at him with wide eyes, her lips were trembling.

Juny's mind was currently filled with the memories of a dead body. The body was covered in snake scales and short fur. It was covered with gruesome meaty cracks. Its dress was torn-up and it was missing a heart.

The dead body was not too tall, her once beautiful hair, as black as night, was stuck to her face with dried blood.

Her lips were curled up into a gentle smile with her eyes wide open, like a lizard's.

Without thinking, Juny grasped the Lapis-blue decoration on the black necklace.

"Fuck..."

No one spoke for a while, watching the 10 year old girl shake and lightly curse.

Soon, very soon, the trembling stopped and the girl's eyes turned emotionless.

As if nothing ever happened to her.

She looked at the Dawn Paladin and spoke in a calm voice.

"She's dead."

For a moment the Dawn Paladin looked surprised before nodding, as if that's what he had guessed as well.

The girl stayed silent for a while, she was playing with an accessory hanging from her neck.

"I'll do the ritual."

She finally concluded as she stopped playing with the necklace.

"Juny?"

Dager couldn't help but notice understand Juny's sudden change in decision.

He could guess that it had something to do with the woman, but he was unable to make a stable connection.

There was only one possibility that seemedThere was only one possibility that seemed to add up, but he couldn't seem to accept it.

Juny looked at him, her eyes as calm as a lake.

"It was my mother."

She spoke, not too loud and not too quiet.

Everyone heard it, everyone heard that sentence, even the Dawn Paladin.

Only then did they look at closer at the black necklace hanging from the child's neck.

It was identical to the woman's.

The Dawn Paladin couldn't help but feel extremely bad for the girl.

He suddenly got the impression that he owned the girl and apology.

"...We didn't know she had-"

"Let's make this quick, we have somewhere to be."

Juny interrupted the Dawn Paladin and began pulling out materials from her Pocket Dimension.

"... Sure."

The Dawn Paladin exhaled and began walking towards the forest, Juny followed closely behind.

The rest of the two groups didn't move.

As they walked the short but excruciatingly long distance, the Dawn Paladin tried to speak up.

"By the way, I'm-"

"I don't want to know."

"..."

Feeling the intense emotions erupting from the girl, the Dawn Paladin kept quiet.

Juny, on the other hand, just felt that miss Mari was making her do something troublesome.

'Who knew she had a student all along... Why do I feel hurt? Sigh... She could've at least informed her own daughter about it.'

As they reached the forest's edge, Juny saw a lady.

The lady couldn't be under 20 years old.

Her eyes narrowed but she kept her mouth shut.

The lady was covered in snake's scales and her pupils kept changing their shape.

Juny could immediately tell that the lady's spirituality was chaotic.

She greeted the lady and immediately began preparing the preservation ritual.

For the ritual, quite a large amount of blood from the Lapis descendant was needed.

Juny flinched but still cut open her wrist.

The Dawn Paladin and the lady watched this scene in silence.

After a while, the lady couldn't hold back anymore.

"You're Kalia? My mentor used to talk about you a lot."

Juny hummed in acknowledgment but that was all.

"Y- You look very different from how she described you."

Juny stopped and looked at the lady with a strange look in her eyes.

"My mom died and I am hunting or being hunted. How am I supposed to look?"

Getting back to the ritual Juny felt that the lady was asking inappropriate questions.

'You should at least ask me how my day was first...'

The lady began to feel bad but she still didn't stop talking.

"You're right, sorry. Could you tell me how long ago was it."

Juny's hands stopped as if she was recalling something.

"About ten months ago."

Juny was truthful, but she also genuinely wanted the lady to stop asking questions.

Thinking, the lady looked at her dumbfounded.

"How did you manage to become a Sequence 6 so fast? I heard her say that you were just a normal human something over a year ago."

Juny slammed the candle down and shot the lady a glare.

"I ate my mom and survived."

Het tone was clear and unbothered but her eyes could spit poison.

"..."

Getting the cue, the lady zipped her mouth.

The three stayed quiet for a while longer until the ritual preparation was done.

Getting up from the ground, Juny patted her clothes and turned to the lady.

"We can begin."

The lady slowly nodded and walked over to the middle of the ritualistic circle.

Taking a deep breath, Juny infused her spirituality into the circle.

After the preparations were in place, the ritual really wasn't that complicated.

Soon, the ritual was finished and the lady's scales quickly receded.

The lady smiled, wholeheartedly thanking Juny.

Juny, of course, accepted her thanks and cleaned up the ritual.

As she bid them farewell, she started walking away and back to the trio.

Juny didn't feel good about what she had just done, but she also felt like she needed to do it.

Even if miss Mari wasn't her real mother.

Even if she was just a figure from memories.

Even if she was long dead.

She was still a person who deserved respect.

And Juny respected her.

"Wait!"

Juny felt her eye twitch as she looked back.

Seeing her look back, the lady asked.

"What should I do if I wish to advance."

Juny's statue froze and she answered coldly.

"Don't."

This statement left the lady frozen in place.

Juny turned away from her and clarified.

"You were my mother's student, not mine. I simply corrected my mother's mistake. I don't plan on taking on her burden too."

"The dead will stay dead."

The lady trembled at the sentence but didn't voice her complaints to this 10 year old girl.

She just nodded and didn't pursue the matter.

Heaving a sigh, Juny met up with the young adult trio.

"All done."

She ignored them as they looked her up and down and began walking away.

They were still two days away from the Feynapotter city by carriage, but Juny was quite sure she could sprint it in half a day.

But looking at Airina, she soon gave up on that.

"Are you good with walking?"

She couldn't help but ask this rich girl.

Airine looked at her and slowly nodded.

"I'll be fine. Although I'm not exactly a runner, I'm still quite active."

Juny nodded.

"It would take two days on a carriage, so that's about three days on foot. As long as we don't take breaks or sleep."

Hearing her, Airine shuddered.

"Can't we make it faster?"

Juny's eyes wandered as she pointed out.

"Someone could always carry you as we run. It would take only about half a day then."

After becoming a Vampire, Ellone's constitution was strengthened and so was her speed.

Dager's Pathway had Physical Enchantment since the beginning.

Juny also had her speed, strenght and stamina enchanted early on.

This meant that Airina was the only one who wouldn't be able to keep up.

Understanding this, Airina wondered.

"Who would be the one to carry me?"

Thinking for a second, Juny quickly crossed herself out.

'I'm too small... and although Dager had his body enchanted, it's still at the sensible level.'

"Probably Ellone."

She concluded.

Ellone first flinched before nodding.

"Yes, that would make the most sense."

"..."

The two girls locked eyes, but neither moved.

One was too embarrassed and the other enjoyed the other's suffering.

After staring each other down for a while, Airina exhaled.

"Ellone, would you please carry me?"

Ellone smirked.

"Sure."

And with that, the quartet began moving.

Three running, one feeling embarrassed.

...

Two hours after the sun set, four silhouettes appeared before a three-story mansion.

Ringing the bell, they waited patiently before a man with a tidy look walked out of the house.

"Young lady? You're well! Praise the Earth!"

As the gates to the luxurious garden opened, the man couldn't help but praise his goddess.

Airina nodded at the tidy man who was also the butler and explained.

"Yes. Theor, call for my mother, I wish to speak with her."

"Also, these are my guests. Show them to a guest room."

The man, Theor, looked at the three strange people standing behind Airina with suspicion, but he daren't to express it.

"Right away young lady."

With that, Airina walked into the garden with the butler following behind her.

The other three quietly tailed behind the butler.

"So she was rich rich- ow!"

According to the hierarchy, Juny walked dead last and watched the beautiful relationship of the siblings before her.

'I miss my brother...'

Remembering her time of bursting into her brother's room and slapping his head for no reason, Juny felt depressed.

She suddenly felt really sentimental and turned her head away.

She first observed the butler. Her instinct kicked in, but she didn't mention it and began looking around.

Admiring the beautiful flowers, Juny entered the house with ceilings that were unreasonably high.

Juny saw a woman quickly walking towards them with a maid in toe.

'The Madam and her Lady in waiting...'

'Thank the gods I read so many historical Manhwas before this.'

"Oh, Praise the Earth! Airina, I'm so glad you're alright!"

The madam first pulled Airina into hug before kissing her forehead.

"I have gotten the terrible news mare weeks ago! I was so terribly distraught!"

Airina smiled and held the madam's hand.

"I am quite alright now, mother. But I must talk to you, what happened to my father was no simple incident!"

Hearing this, the madam flinched before frowning.

"My dearest daughter, let's have a talk over dinner, you must be exhausted from the long travel."

Airina suddenly felt bad for the three people standing behind her.

After all, she only had to be carried while the three ran all the way here without any breaks.

But, since saying that would only raise questions, she nodded.

"Yes mother, allow me to wash up first."

"My, of course, I'll call for Mel."

"Thank you mother."

With that, the madam turned to the three people covered in dust.

"Theor, help these... guests into their rooms."

"You may give them connected quarters."

The three raised an eyebrow but stayed completely silent.

"Right away, Madam."

Flashing the three a look, Theor began walking.

Juny noticed Dager's hand clenching into a fist and couldn't help but smirk.

After arriving in front of a medium sized door, the three stepped inside the room as the butler shut the door closed.

After making sure he was gone, Dager couldn't help but murmur.

"What was with that tone, and look.."

Ellone flashed him a smile.

"Did you see yourself? You look like a beggar."

Juny giggled.

"I was quite sure she was gonna say 'peasants'."

Ellone looked at her before widening her eyes in realization.

"Yes! That pause was giving 'peasants'! How did I not notice!"

Dager sighed in exasperation.

"You too seem very happy about being seen as peasants."

Juny's smile widened.

"Aren't we?"

Dager flinched and gave it some serious thought.

"We probably are, aren't we..."

Ellone scoffed at her brother.

"We grew up in an orphanage, we are as peasant as one gets!"

The three joked for quite a while before finally taking a shower.

Looking at the spare clothes given to them, Dager couldn't help but stutter.

"I- I have to wear this?"

"If you don't want to be naked."

Ellone sneered before looking at her clothes with the exact same expression as her brother.

Juny did the same. She wondered if she should just get her clothes from the Pocket Dimension.

'That would be too suspicious...'

Her face contorted as she picked up the overly complicated dress.

"Are these lace and frills? Could someone tell these aristocrats that more doesn't necessarily mean better?"

Juny couldn't help but complain out loud.

"Although the color is quite elegant and soothing... I'd guess that this is on the more expensive side... Did they give me Airine's old clothes?"

Dager looked at Juny with a strange expression.

"Why do you know so much about dresses? It just looks like random fabric stacked onto itself."

Juny looked at him as if he was mentally unstable.

"What nonsense are you spouting? You don't see the clear difference? Even the textures are different!"

Dager smiled.

"Well I care about more important things. Like how to overpower people twice my age."

Both Juny and Ellone looked at him silently, waiting for him to wake up.

Soon enough, Dager's eyes scanned Juny up and down before coughing into his fist and looking back at the clothes.

In the end, he forced himself into it but ended up fighting with the tie.

Juny, who was tying a ribbon around her waist kept eyeing him.

Finally, she just couldn't take it and directly asked.

"What are you doing?"

Dager, who was trying to snap the tie in half so it would fit, jumped.

"Tying a tie?"

Ellone snorted while Juny raised her eyebrows.

"No you're not. I don't know what you're doing, but it's not tying."

Dager, who somehow tied a an actual knot, blinked a few times.

Then he frowned and complained.

"They look at and treat us like beggars but then give us nobles's clothes! This is illogical!"

Juny thought for a moment before looking at the beautiful Ellone who, although she was laughing at Dager, was in reality also fighting with the layered dress.

"Maybe they want us to embarrass ourselves?"

She guessed.

Juny didn't have much of a trouble because of her adoration for historical fashion.

Not once has she watched fun facts about aristocratic fashion but she also learned some of the rules and etiquette.

'I somehow still remember stuff like: 'a maid should never bring anything into a room with her hand' or 'a wealthy lady should never wear the same dress in public twice'. I think this is thanks to the boost of my memories.'

Hearing her, Ellone nodded.

"That must be it! They tinkered with the clothes, making it impossible to wear them in he right wa-"

"..."

She checked Juny's especially complex dress, which was currently being perfectly worn by the young girl.

"No... I'm sure that the clothes are completely fine..."

Juny spoke awkwardly, feeling the two's confused and hurt stares.

"Traitor!"

Dager spat out while tying another knot on the tie.

Juny looked at him in exasperation.

"Guys... I'd love to entertain you, but we have only few more minutes before we'll really be late."

Juny pointed out, feeling attacked by the two siblings.

Ellone's brows furrowed.

"Yea, sorry. Let me just break my ribs a bit faster."

Juny watched the scene with dead eyes before sighing.

"I'll help you..."

Clicking her tongue, Ellone turned around and allowed Juny to tighten the dress.

Juny then moved to Dager.

"Gimme the tie."

Looking down at his chest, Dager tried to use his fingers to untie the knot he made.

After half a minute of him struggling, Juny's eye twitched in irritation.

"Let me do it."

Juny used Space Manipulation to easily untie it and then skillfully tied the Windsor knot.

Patting the tie Juny looked up at Dager.

"There. And please brush your hair a bit, so that it doesn't look like a bird's nest."

Dager grunted, but ended up moving to the table and started messing with his hair.

She then looked at Ellone and couldn't help but warn.

"Be careful down the stairs."

Ellone looked at her blankly but nodded in acknowledgment.

Soon, they heard knocking on the door as they made their way down to the dining room.

The servants, who expected their failure, seemed stunned.

The beautiful Ellone with a stunning dress gave off a sense of superiority and elegance.

The servants with an inferiority complex quickly began minding their own business.

"Is this what it means to scare others with beauty?"

Dager mumbled and Juny couldn't help but nod in agreement.

"Won't the madam be mad that a mare peasant looks so much better than her?"

Juny watched as Ellone's smile grew wider.

'Who wouldn't enjoy so many compliments...'

Looking straight, the three arrived before the dining room and saw Airina waiting for them.

Immediately, all three showed the same exhausted expression.

Airina smirked, feeling entertained.

"You don't have to worry about any etiquette, I already informed mother and she's fine with it."

Juny had the extreme urge to reply sarcastically, but seeing the emotionless butler, she shut her mouth and smiled.

'We should probably still bow as a greeting, no?'

Thinking over all the Manhwas she has read, Juny couldn't help but have newfound admiration for the noble ladies.

As they entered the Dining Hall, they noticed that the madam has yet to arrive.

The two siblings were slightly confused.

Feeling bad, Juny whispered.

"It's hierarchy. The Lord or Madam of the household enter the Dining Hall last. If we were to arrive after the Madam today, it would be seen as extremely disrespectful as if we thought of ourselves as more important."

The two siblings looked at each other and once again showed confusion.

"How do you know so much? You even knew how to tie different tie knots and asked me which one I wanted."

Dager couldn't help but speak out.

This caught the attention of Airina who expected the three to struggle.

Juny simply shrugged.

"I read a lot."

With that, she followed Airina's lead and sat down, waiting for the madam to arrive.

They had a casual talk while Juny and Airina made sure the siblings wouldn't do anything too disrespectful.

Like eating or sitting down before the madam or scratching the plate with the utensils.

"Gods forbid you sip the drinks and soup. You can't, under no circumstances, do so."

Juny warned before the door opened and the madam stepped in.

All four of them stood up and did the necessary greeting.

The madam was clearly very surprised with their current appearance.

She seamed especially interested in the beautiful Ellone.

Dager was pretty much afraid to even pick up the utensils, in fear of breaching the etiquette somehow.

Ellone was also a bit nervous at first, but even though she made small missteps, she was quickly forgiven.

'The power of beauty is immense...'

Juny, like any normal child, ate.

She looked normal, but she could for sure be considered a professional.

Juny didn't make a fuss about it, but she noticed that the neat butler seemed to be observing her very closely.

Feeling strange, Juny ignored the man and finished her food.

She listened to Airina's retelling of the assault as well as the reason for her delay.

Soon, the conversation ended and the four left the dining room.

Dager still felt wary, while Ellone seemed exhausted.

Juny, who enjoyed a very good dinner for free, was overjoyed.

After getting a tour from Airina, they returned to the connected room.

Although Juny enjoyed her privacy, she also wasn't one to complain about such a things out loud.

The three were finally freed from the tight clothes and changed.

Juny and Dager went to sleep while Ellone, who was a Vampire, had to stay up.

Even so, she continued to lie still in the bed.

Her mind kept wandering around.

She seemed to have experienced a new side of aristocracy.
