Chapter 7: Can Be Trusted?
"Do you want to stay here?" asked Ellie, who was confused by Gerald's behavior, as he did not seem to want to move from his position.
"Is there something we can do here?"
Ellie's cheerful laughter became an answer from Gerald, who was busy blinking his eyes in confusion.
"It's just in this zone that we are not limited to any zone," Ellie said with great confidence.
Actually, Gerald didn't understand Ellie's words at all, all he knew was that there were many survivors who should be there, it was just difficult to find them, and he thought the reason for that was the size of the zone, even the young man didn't suspect at all if there were subzones within the zone.
"Just follow me, you should have more knowledge while you are here," Ellie said casually.
For a few seconds he blinked his eyes and followed Ellie's footsteps.
He really didn't know, or rather, he seemed to be blind to the situation.
Gerald, who was a new passerby, of course did not know the situation and did not want to know anything about his surroundings before meeting a girl like Ellie in front of him.
His footsteps were only busy following Ellie, who was now a guide for him.
Slash!
Suddenly, Ellie pulled back Gerald, who was almost cut by a knife that was quickly thrown at them.
'Shit! That was close,' Gerald complained to himself.
He hadn't expected the transition zone to lead to unexpected things. Shouldn't he be in danger if he was in the transition zone?
Hadn't the game started yet if he was there?
Things like that were of course on Gerald's mind, who was honestly still reluctant to be there.
Oh come on, he still hadn't enjoyed the game that made him feel trapped there.
Unlike Gerald, Ellie actually twisted her eyes lazily, as if she knew the owner of the flying knife that had almost hurt her or Gerald.
"That's enough Fey, introduce you to our new friend, don't scare her," Ellie said casually and resumed her steps.
'Fey? Does Ellie know her?' Gerald was shocked in his mind.
Gerald swallowed his saliva roughly. He had not expected to meet other people there besides himself and Ellie.
A teenage girl in a t-shirt and shorts suddenly appeared in front of Gerald.
"Are you new?" Fey, a girl with a tomboyish style, asked Gerald without hesitation.
"You should be polite to him, Fey."
Fey looked at Gerald for a moment while clucking in displeasure at Ellie's previous words.
She really didn't like meeting new people, she thought meeting new people just made it harder for her to move.
The teenager was quite introverted, so she didn't like it when Ellie introduced her to new people.
Wait...
Every time?
Then where are these people?
Only Ellie and Fey knew some of the secrets of the Zone, including the side of the Transition Zone.
"Ellie, I want to talk to you privately," Fey said suddenly.
Ellie realized that of course Fey wouldn't just allow someone to be with her, it was just that there were some big reasons why Ellie decided to bring someone other than the two of them.
"What's wrong?" asked Ellie after the two of them had turned away from Gerald's presence.
"It's too risky," Fey said simply, without any explanation or refusal from the teenage girl.
Ellie was silent for a moment before she said anything to Fey. Ellie knew it was risky, it just couldn't be bad if she tried again to get a chance, right?
That was what was going through Ellie's mind, of course.
"We won't know if we don't try, anyway it's worse when it's just the two of us, Fey," Ellie said at the end.
Fey knew exactly what Ellie meant, it was just that she felt uncomfortable being with this new person.
"I'm sure the outcome will be different," Ellie said, suddenly grabbing both of Fey's hands to calm the teenager down.
Fey didn't respond, just gently brushed Ellie's hand away. Honestly, it felt like Fey wanted to confront Ellie hard, but with Ellie speaking her mind, Fey could not refuse her anymore.
After all, she personally didn't like having a long argument with Ellie, the first person to help her while she was tied up in a game that she didn't know when it would end.
Ellie smiled for a moment when she saw that Fey finally gave in and stopped arguing.
"I hope your hunch is right."
Afterwards, Ellie returned to Gerald, who was unaware of the situation between the two.
One thing he did know was that he was not accepted by the teenage girl he had just met.
"So how was it? Did I disturb you?" Gerald asked cautiously to Ellie, who was already standing in front of him.
Ellie shook her head and grinned. The girl patted Gerald on the shoulder and said that everything had been solved by her, so he didn't have to think too far, after all Fey's attitude had a good reason.
"You can be trusted, right?" Ellie asked Gerald teasingly.
Gerald awkwardly and confidently nodded his head and said that he could be trusted.
"That's enough," Ellie said with a sincere smile.
'Ugh, why is she be--'
Gerald immediately shook his head lightly, dismissing what had just overshadowed his thoughts, which was actually Gerald's attitude, attracting the attention of Fey, who was still standing behind the two of them.
"Let's continue sweeping the zone."
Fey and Gerald only agreed to Ellie's words, who seemed to be the leader among them.

"Wait!" cried Elina, noticing the abnormality of the sound of the voice that was successively giving information about the survivors who had fallen.
Alexi also paused for a moment before reminding the other that the zone he was in now needed to keep moving.
The two slowed their steps and tried to discuss the irregularities.
Isn't it too strange if the survivors fall at the same time?
Alexi, who was beginning to adjust to the 'universe', immediately looked up at the sky and noticed the numbers listed there.
"Sixty five! Crazy, that is half of the survivors we saw before," Alexi said.
Elina bit her lip. She realized that Zone Two had been modified this time, which meant she would have to move quickly to find the last door of Zone Two.
"This doesn't look good, we should find the last crate as soon as possible."
Alexi nodded, agreeing with her.
"Come on, think fast! Orange... Doesn't that mean a sunset? Is there a sun here? Wait!'
Alexi's glowing eyes tried to look in all directions, where his current position was only covered by tall plants that were bigger than him.
"Over there!"
Elina, who was standing next to Alexi, immediately followed the direction of the young man's hand.
A reddish light that she was sure was not a natural sunlight that made the sky change color, but a color reflection effect that made it so.
'Ah, right! That's why the sky was orange back then'. Elina's monologue made one thing clear.
"You're right, let's go there," Elina said again and held Alexi's hand again, trying to jump quickly.
'Oh my God!!!'
