Chapter 13: CHAPTER 13 – Mexico

Aurora looked at the clouds through the windows of the jet, as they were several feet high in the sky.

She was mesmerized. She had never flown before, and this dream had easily come true for her, just as Bianca had earlier said; she was lucky indeed.

"Never been in the sky before, I guess," Brynn asked, focusing on the iPad with him.

His seat was opposite Aurora's on the same side, while Luke's seat was opposite Aurora's on the other side.

"No." She replied.

'As a matter of fact, I never thought I would ever fly.' She thought to herself.

"Welcome to my world," Brynn said, still looking at the iPad, "And prepare yourself for more of these to come."

Aurora beamed like a satisfied child.

The journey was less than four hours, and the experience wasn't boring, but blissful for Aurora.

She talked and laughed with Brynn, she had hostesses serve her like a princess, smiling at her as though they were trying to please her, not to get on the master's bad side.

For a while, she had forgotten about her life back in Northern California; she had seen faces that looked embittered, angry, rude, and all sorts of uncomfortable looks, nothing like what she was seeing now.

If this was just the beginning for her, like Brynn said, then she was going to enjoy it to the fullest; it would probably be the best one month of her life, and she looked forward to it.

"Permit me to ask where we are going," Aurora said as the pilot announced that they would be landing soon.

She was so overwhelmed by the royal treatment she was getting that she forgot to ask a while ago.

"I have meetings with certain companies' directors to offer investments." He said, looking at Aurora, "I hear their pitch and take a decision whether or not to go in with an investment."

"Wow!" She said,

"You are not coming with me," Brynn said, "I already have men stationed here to give you a tour around Mexico."

"We're in Mexico?" Aurora's eyes lit up.

"Yes, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico." Brynn said, "You would go on a tour and be brought back in time for our departure."

Aurora grinned hard, holding her happiness back.

They both came down from the jet, and just as Brynn said, men were wearing black suits, looking like security guards for high-profile men, like the ones she sees in movies. They stood unmoved, unless they were given instructions to follow.

She was living the dream.

They were both escorted to two parked Rolls-Royce Cullinans. One was arctic white, while the other was deep navy blue, like a midnight sapphire.

Aurora's eyes sparkled; she had never imagined seeing such a luxurious car up close, not to mention riding in one.

"You would go in this," He pointed to the white car, "tour around and don't hold back. I want you to feel my world for the first time, and we will talk about it when next we meet." He looked at her.

"I don't know what to say," Aurora said.

"You don't have to say anything; this is me making up for lost time." He said, "Now off you go." He smiled a little.

"Thank you so much, Father." She said,

Her body itched to hug him, but words of thanks were all she could offer, and they both were led into their different cars.

A minute after they had driven, Brynn glanced at Luke, who seemed to have a lot going through his mind.

"Speak," Brynn said,

Luke sighed, "Master, I'm not one to ever question your decision. I see how you seem to cherish Lady Aurora, and I must admit that it's nothing but pure fatherly love."

"But?" Brynn asked, looking at his phone.

"Why, master?" Luke asked, head lowered a bit. "You favour the lady so much, when she isn't even your biological child."

A moment of silence filled the interior of the car,

"Is it because of the guilt you still feel for the late lady?" Luke asked.

Brynn sighed. He removed his glasses and stared out the lifted window of the car.

"You won't be entirely wrong if you think it's because of my guilt, Luke." He said. "I feel I have been given a second chance, and I will do everything I can to make atonement for my wrong in the past. I see my daughter in her, and I will do everything that I unfortunately couldn't do for my late daughter."

He looked back at his phone and put on his glasses.

"And the reason you took her out of the house today?" Luke asked.

"A huge announcement like the one I made this morning is certainly going to cause a ruckus." Brynn answered, "I took her out of the house to avert questions from her mother. I needed to give the mother time to take the news in before asking Aurora any questions. It would be too early for Aurora to answer."

"Understood, master," Luke said, bowing his head slightly.

Just when the car entered the main road, Brynn's phone beeped. He looked at his phone with furrowed brows.
