Chapter 14: CHAPTER 14 - Phil

Aurora was blown away by the different sights she'd seen. If this were a dream, she didn't want to wake up. The master's world is totally her dream world, and she was going to savor as much as she could.

Aurora was passing by a shop and she saw the shelves of sweets and biscuits from the outside through the see-through glass that the shop was built with, she thought that a little sweet treat wouldn't hurt.

She went inside, and the guards followed, with one of them holding the door for her. "Thank you," she said as she stepped inside.

The shop looked exquisite, luxurious, and the welcoming workers, she felt like she was a princess, 'Brynn's princess.'

The workers were extremely nice to her, they were professionally dressed, too professional for people who work in a shop where snacks and sweet treats were sold.

When they asked her what she wanted to buy, so they would get it for her, she had told them that she wasn't sure, and that she would check around.

She checked the cookies shelves carefully, she saw varieties of exotic brands of cookies, she had never seen any of its kind before.

Then her eyes fell on a particular one, it was the same as the one she had that early morning in the kitchen of the mansion. She had loved the taste of it so much that she wanted another one, but unfortunately for her, it was the only one of its kind left in the fridge.

She happily grabbed it; that was enough for her, and then she added another pack, just in case.

She happily headed to the counter, and the guards followed silently, three steps away from her, trying not to invade her privacy too much.

"I'm sorry," She said, "I forgot to ask, I didn't have the chance to change my currency, so I don't know if you could help me."

"That isn't a problem, ma'am." The lady at the counter said, "You can pay with whatever currency you have; we just make calculations and convert the sum into the currency you have." She smiled.

"Okay," Aurora said, "that'll do. I use U.S. dollars, thank you."

She handed the items to the lady at the counter. After a few seconds of the lady touching the screen on the table, "That'd be one hundred and twenty dollars, ma'am."

"What?!" Aurora screamed with her eyes open.

She coughed, composing herself. "What?" She repeated, calmly.

"That's the price, ma'am," The lady answered, "The products we sell here aren't sold in regular markets, there is just one of this kind of shop in each country around the world. The products are sold exclusively to the wealthy elites like yourself." She grinned.

"Wow!" Aurora said, "I didn't know that it would cost so much." She started to feel bad for eating the cookies back in the house.

Just then, a hand reached out to the cashier, giving her a platinum card. Aurora saw the name written on the card, 'Master Brynn'.

It was handed out by a guard from behind her, and she was surprised.

"You don't have to do that." She said.

"Master Brynn's orders." The guard answered.

The cashier took her card and started the payment transaction.

"I didn't know it would be so expensive." Aurora blurted out in embarrassment.

"I had thought initially, what a human was doing here, they all say the same thing about this place being expensive." A voice came from beside Aurora.

She turned her head in surprise, wanting to see who had made that statement.

She saw a man, young-looking, probably a few years older than her. He was wearing a blue suit and black pants; his brown hair was neatly styled, with a single strand of hair resting on the side of his head. His eyes shone, and his handsome-looking face captured Aurora; if she hadn't been into Lucius, maybe this guy would be it.

At the thought of it, her stomach churned,

'You're not ready for a new face, Aurora, no matter how charming.' She thought to herself.

She was intrigued by his appearance, but wasn't swept off her feet.

He held a shopping basket filled with sweets and biscuits, and he was heading to the counter to make payments too.

"But then I see that the human had been guarded by wolves, my wolves." He said, walking closer to Aurora.

"Master." The whole guard bowed their heads in greetings.

Aurora, on seeing this, thought to herself that just as master Brynn was, back at the mansion, so is this man, here in Mexico. He definitely is a young master, compared to master Brynn.

"As you were." He said to the guards.

He turned to Aurora, "Which made me think that this is no ordinary human," He said, putting his basket on the counter, "You must be the daughter master Brynn came with, what a coincidence."

Aurora thought that his comment about the guards being wolves was because of how fierce they looked.

"They look fierce, I agree." She said, "And you are?"

"Master Phil, Alpha of the Nightshade Pack." He put his hand forward for a handshake. "And you are?"

"Aurora," She shook his hand, "I came with master Brynn, like you already know."

"I must be in luck to have run into you," He beamed, "You are unmarked, talk about a double luck." He said, after discreetly sniffing the air to find that aside from the human smell, she didn't smell distinctive.

"Unmarked?" Aurora asked, "That's awkward, do they imprint initials on someone in this part of the world or what?" She grinned in nervousness.

Phil, not knowing what she was talking about, dropped her hand and reached into his pocket.

"Let me get my card." He said to the cashier.

"I can see that someone likes their sweet tooth," Aurora said, looking at the contents of Phil's basket.

"You can say that again," Phil said, giving his card to the cashier. "My little sisters, Beth and Steph, are going to beat me to death if I don't get them something on my way back home."

"Wow!" Aurora said, "They must love."

"You can say that again."

"Well, it was nice chatting with you. I believe this is where I say goodbye."

"I would have loved to hang out with you a bit, if you don't mind." Phil said, "Like I heard, you are on a tour around. I could help; this is my territory, and that makes me a better tour guide than any of the guards here."

"You would do that?" She asked, surprised.

"Yeah, it would be a mistake to leave with just a glance of this face to hold on to as a memory." He said with a smile that Aurora found to be cute.

"What about your sisters?"

"They'll understand." He said, "And I know how boring these guards could be."

"Okay," She sighed, "That'd be great."

Their cards were returned, and the guards carried their bags as they headed towards the shop's exit.

"And you are right, the guards are boring," She turned to the guards behind her, "No offense, people." She nervously opened her teeth.

"Trust me, they weren't offended, they know it's true," Phil said.
