Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 176 On one knee

The ground shook violently, shaking loose the fragile ecosystem covering it. Tree roots thrashed desperately as the ground crumbled, leaving behind a dark green, viscous surface. Plants and trees, once teeming with life and color, now withered and rotted before our eyes, filling the air with a nauseating stench that clung to our throats.

The titan, with a majestic movement, drew its sword from the newly transformed ground, while the hollows of its eyes burned with an ominous purple glow. In a matter of seconds, the landscape transformed completely, turning a lush forest into a desolate wasteland, where death reigned instead of life.

Adelaide's Perspective:

The air became thick and oppressive, saturated with a deathly stench that I found unbearable. Although I'm used to dealing with poisons and acids in my daily work, this smell was different, more penetrating, more visceral. The presence of the titan intensified palpably, like a heavy weight on my shoulders, and I felt a chill run through my entire being.

Its domain expansion was taking place before my own eyes, and I had never witnessed such a phenomenon before. I felt tiny and insignificant compared to the unleashed power manifesting before me. I watched in fear as the titan's empty eyes gleamed with a purple flame that seemed to penetrate to the depths of my being.

Eleonor, beside me, remained motionless, her red eyes reflecting the same fear I felt inside. Although technically there was no real danger for us, as we were essentially virtual beings, our senses were pushed to the maximum, making us experience fear entirely real. The presence of the titan was tangible, its influence palpable, and the pressure it exerted on us was overwhelming.

Moments later, a deep darkness emerged from a corner, spreading rapidly to cover approximately a quarter of the titan's domain expansion. Eleonor and Adelaide perceived how the overwhelming pressure that enveloped them decreased slightly, relieving the suffocating sensation that had dominated them.

"Stay behind!" Anthony's extremely serious words echoed in the ears of the two girls, clearly indicating the seriousness of the situation. Everything changed in an instant: Anthony had been determined to defeat the titan before it could complete its domain expansion, but he didn't have enough time.

Normally, not all creatures possessed the ability to perform a domain expansion, but this event had been provoked by Professor Atenea. Knowing her reputation, it was evident that this wasn't an ordinary encounter with titans. Anthony frowned, aware of the gravity of the situation. He looked at the girls, who remained nervous, and shook his head with concern.

If they couldn't overcome their fear, the battle was lost before it began, for them, but Anthony couldn't protect them both at the same time.

Anthony hesitated for a moment, assessing the situation, but before he could say anything, his sense of danger was intensely activated.

The titan had grown in size to about 7 meters, its sword began to dance with purple flames, moving slowly, it began to walk around the three boys, its steps stopped, with an explosion the ground split its speed multiplied, Anthony's pupils dilated, he moved his hands and waved his sword, moving it into defense mode. Boom!!! Clannk!!!

The titan's enormous sword clashed against mine with a deafening roar, causing the ground beneath my feet to sink and forcing me to step back. The titan moved its colossal body with a majestic twist, while the clash of our swords echoed like thunder amidst the chaos.

The ground crumbled beneath us, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, while the black flames danced frenetically, as if they had a life of their own. From the shadows of the titan emerged more tentacles, twisting and wrapping rapidly around it, devouring it mercilessly.

Anthony gritted his teeth with determination. He knew he was facing a much greater force, but he had to keep his mind focused on tactics, looking for opportunities to counterattack. He placed a foot firmly behind him, while the black flames of his sword grew in intensity. Darkness closed in around him, forming a kind of cocoon that enveloped them both.

The titan's hollow eyes radiated a violet glow, but Anthony managed to connect his sword, making a deep cut in the colossus's chest.

A roar echoed through the air as the titan's mouth opened wide, and a powerful shockwave sent them both flying out of the darkness dome, shattering it into pieces.

Without wasting another second, Anthony activated his Shadow Step, moving with impressive speed. The titan, suspended in the air, sensed the young warrior's intention and, with a decisive gesture, plunged its sword into the ground, creating a straight line as it backed away. A large amount of earth piled up on both sides of the line traced by the sword.

In a quick and precise movement, Anthony advanced, directly challenging the titan. Without hesitation. As the titan bled profusely from its chest, a thick green liquid dripped to the ground, marking the impact of the battle. With each blow and each wound inflicted, the battle reached its climax, and Anthony knew that this was the decisive moment. It was now or never.

BOOMMM!!! BOOMM!!

Large fireballs exploded against the titan from its back, creating a rain of sparks and scorching heat that engulfed it completely. At the same time, a dense green liquid formed beneath its feet, like a deadly trap threatening to swallow it whole.

Out of the corner of his eye, Anthony caught a glimpse of the girls, who, despite still feeling fear, managed to move and join the fight, demonstrating an unexpected and crucial bravery in that critical moment.

This collaboration turned out to be exactly what he needed at that crucial moment. Anthony watched as the violet glow that once emanated from the titan's hollow eyes began to slowly fade. It was evident that the colossus was progressively weakening, its resistance to the relentless combined attack of Anthony and the girls crumbling with each blow and spell it received.

With the hilt of his sword firmly in hand, Anthony faced the titan with iron determination. Directing his gaze straight into the creature's hollow eyes, he made a quick and precise movement.

The titan's head separated from its body and fell heavily to the ground with a dull thud, while its body also collapsed, although the sword stuck in the ground left it kneeling on one knee, preventing it from falling completely.

Silence fell over the battlefield, interrupted only by the whisper of the wind through the trees and the crunch of debris underfoot. Anthony breathed deeply.
