Warframe Voidwalker : Multiverse Journey

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Family Revelations

"Ahem... well..." Pietro shifted uncomfortably, "He's... my father!"

"What did you say?"

Hank's eyes widened in shock. How could Pietro be Erik's son? If so, why hadn't he acknowledged him during their previous encounter?

"I only found out later, during his speech that day," Pietro explained awkwardly.

Everyone fell silent. The situation was already complicated with Erik's wife and daughter present. This revelation made things even more awkward.

"Brother, are you also Dad's child?"

Nina approached Pietro and tugged at his pants, her face filled with curiosity. Why had she never seen this brother before, nor heard her father mention him?

Pietro looked equally confused. Who was this little girl, and why was she claiming to be his father's child? Could she really be Magneto's daughter?

"She is...?"

"Yes, exactly what you're thinking," Hank replied with a helpless gesture.

Erik's two children had unexpectedly met, though no one would call this good timing.

Is this my half-sister? Pietro wondered, studying Nina with a furrowed brow. Had his father started a new family?

Just as he was about to ask more questions, the sound of helicopter rotors filled the air outside the school.

"There's an armed helicopter approaching!!!"

A student rushed in to report the sighting of a military helicopter heading their way.

"Did you do something you shouldn't have?" Marcus asked, turning to Hank and the others. These people had been with Charles before his abduction—they must have done something to attract military attention.

"Well... before Charles was taken, we used the Cerebro to search for someone, but Charles seemed to be controlled and couldn't stop. Alex eventually used his energy pulse to destroy Cerebro, which finally halted the process. Perhaps someone controlling Charles did something during that time."

As Hank explained, Raven and the others nodded in confirmation.

Charles was controlled? Marcus thought. Without question, Apocalypse was behind it. He must have done something serious while connected to Charles's mind.

Everyone walked outside the academy to await the helicopter's landing. Meanwhile, a car slowly approached from another direction.

"We're back!"

Several young people climbed out of the car, singing and cheerfully greeting everyone.

They quickly noticed something was wrong. Apart from the students, everyone's expressions were unusually grim.

"What's going on?" asked a blue-skinned young man.

"I don't know, but it looks serious," a girl replied, hurrying toward the gathering crowd.

Thud-thud-thud-thud...

The helicopter finally touched down. Several soldiers disembarked, all carrying what looked like cannon-shaped weapons.

"I'm a CIA investigator!"

Seeing the armed soldiers, Moira quickly produced her identification and stepped forward.

The soldiers paid no attention to her credentials. The officer in charge gave some command to his men, and after a brief glance at the assembled group, he shouted an order to open fire.

BOOM!

The weapons discharged powerful sonic waves. In an instant, everyone collapsed unconscious.

Everyone except Marcus, who remained standing, observing the scene calmly.

Clap, clap, clap...

Marcus applauded the soldiers' efficiency, then raised his foot slightly and transformed into a streak of light, instantly appearing before the commanding officer.

"When facing mutants of unknown ability, your approach makes sense—but what happened to warrant military intervention?"

The soldiers didn't answer his question. Instead, they raised their weapons and aimed at him.

Ignoring the threat, Marcus stared at the officer and pressed further.

"What happened?"

As he spoke, a flash of energy sliced through the air beside him. All the soldiers' weapons flew apart, scattering as fragments across the ground.

The soldiers immediately reached for secondary weapons.

"Don't move!"

Energy swords materialized around Marcus, their points pressed against each soldier's throat.

Marcus's arm transformed, taking on the appearance of Excalibur [Holy Sword]. This was one of Excalibur's abilities: Javelin.

Faced with energy blades from all directions, the soldiers froze. They were just following orders—there was no need to die over this.

Seeing his men immobilized, the officer frowned and explained:

"Just now, countries worldwide simultaneously launched nuclear missiles. We traced the mental signature controlling these launches back to this location."

Suddenly, he drew a pistol and fired repeatedly at Marcus.

Unfortunately for him, Marcus moved faster. The moment the gun appeared, Marcus transformed into energy and rushed into the man's body.

After several shots, the officer stood motionless, his eyes vacant.

"Stryker? So you're the one who tortured Logan making him lost his memories."

Marcus saw Logan in Stryker's memories—this man had conducted countless experiments on him, eventually reducing Logan to an animalistic state.

"Now he truly has become the Wolverine."

Marcus felt deep sympathy for what Logan had endured.

The timeline alteration hadn't just changed history—it had caused Logan to encounter Stryker earlier, becoming a test subject in his hands.

After exiting Stryker's body, Marcus raised his hand and delivered light taps to Stryker and his soldiers.

BOOM!

Void energy exploded from his palm, rendering them all unconscious.

He needed to rescue Logan first. Charles could wait—he would be safe in the short term.

After restraining Stryker and his men, Marcus left a note for Hank and the others, then commandeered the military helicopter to fly to the experimental facility he'd seen in Stryker's memories.

Shortly after his departure, Hank and the others gradually regained consciousness, discovering the soldiers and helicopter gone.

"This is what Marcus left!"

Hank examined the note in his hand. It explained that Marcus had taken the helicopter and soldiers away. They should focus on securing the students and searching for clues about Charles's whereabouts.

...

Secret Experimental Facility

Marcus possessed Stryker's body again, walking unimpeded to Logan's containment cell.

Logan was imprisoned in a specialized cage. When the door opened, Marcus was startled by his appearance.

Logan was bare-chested, wearing only shorts, with control devices attached to his waist and head. He stared at the seemingly controlled Stryker with feral intensity.

SNIKT!

Adamantium claws erupted from between Logan's knuckles as he lunged at Stryker. The razor-sharp blades pierced "Stryker's" head, blood dripping along the metal.

Before Stryker's body was killed, Marcus exited and entered Logan's chaotic mind.

Stryker's damage to Logan had been profound. Logan's consciousness was fractured, reduced to something almost bestial.

"I'm back, old friend!"
