What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Shit! They used some kind of cloaked ship and they are already boarding us!

I still initiated the short range pulse scan anyway just to see if there were any other ships around us.

Lo and behold, aside from the two ships that were currently attached to us, four other red dots appeared on the map.

I leapt up to my feet, "Lea, Ries! Take care of those enemy ships! Amber, Mara! Get those boarders off our ship right now!"

"Aye, Captain!"

I rushed out of the bridge with the other two girls following behind me.

I'm sure either Mara or Amber alone could have handled whoever decided to board us on their own but… I don't have the mental capacity to send them there on their own especially since we don't know who these people are yet.

We ran straight to the armoury and I could already hear gunshots coming from behind the door, which was most likely coming from Ries's drones that were guarding the cargo bay.

Amber and Mara didn't need to take any weapons and all I needed was my shotgun and several spare shells since I already have my pistol and personal shield strapped to my waist.

The door slid open right as a drone crashed down in front of us, the drone riddled with bullet holes with electrical sparks around its body.

Looking to the airlocks, at both sides of the cargo bay, there were groups of armed men wearing black combat armour and were in the midst of shooting at the drones above them.

I flicked the safety off from my shotgun and started charging towards the group on my right, trusting Amber and Mara to be able to handle themselves.

I took aim at the nearest guy to me, the guy making the mistake of having his back turned to me as he was busy shooting at a drone zipping above him to notice me running up to him.

Looking at the combat armour they were wearing, I'm expecting it to have some kind of shield attached so trying to shoot at them from a distance would be useless.

That's why…

I ran all the way up to him before pressing the barrel of my shotgun on his back.

He paused visibly and was in the midst of trying to turn around to see what was pushing against him when I pulled the trigger.

The pellets shot out bypassed his shields and ripped through the armour, shredding his back into pieces and launching the guy forward from the blast.

One of his friends saw him fall onto the ground and his helmeted gaze immediately turned to me, most likely registering me as the one who did that.

I pulled out my pistol with my left hand and fired a few shots at the guy, only to see the bullets deflect off his shield and leaving him unharmed.

He also lifted his rifle to fire a quick three round burst at me but I trusted my shield to block it so I took it head on while I charged towards him.

He tried to back away but it was too late as I swung my right hand forward, bringing my shotgun up to have its barrel pushed up against his neck before I fired.

His neck was blown off and the head was separated from its body, leaving his headless corpse to tumble onto the ground with a loud thud.

The rest of them finally noticed me and my shield flared as bullets both kinetic and energy started flying towards me.

I leapt towards the nearest one before he could back away and I struck him across the side of his helmet with the handle of my pistol.

The strike caused him to spin around, leaving his back to face me and I took that chance to wrap my arm around his neck to use him as a shield, forcing the others to stop shooting.

Taking a moment to sling my shotgun behind my back to free my right hand, I reached forward and raised his hands to force him to start shooting his laser rifle at his friends instead.

The rounds quickly emptied as the remaining enemies scrambled to find cover but I focused fire on the slowest guy and his shield shattered before he could hide himself.

The next few laser rounds pierced through his armour and burned holes through his thigh, abdomen and torso before he fell over onto the ground, dead.

The guy I was holding finally recovered enough to try and struggle free but I shifted my hand with the pistol to press the muzzle under his chin before firing, the round blowing his head open.

His body slumped but I still held on to him to use the corpse as a shield while I fumbled with his rifle to reload it with one of the energy cells strapped to his chest.

Thankfully, despite him being dead, his shield was still operational as his friends started firing at me now that their friend was dead.

I was going to reposition myself when the group of them suddenly stopped shooting.

I would have thought they ran out of ammo but there was no way they would coincidentally all run out at the exact same time so I took a peek from behind my meat shield to see what they were doing.

All of them were looking in my direction and despite the helmets hiding their faces, I could somehow tell that they were all filled with fear.

"Psi… Psi… Psionic!! Run!!" One of them shouted.

I finally realised they were looking behind me and I turned to see Amber in the midst of floating towards us with fire balls floating around her.

Behind her, I can see Mara had already dealt with everyone on that side as all of them lay unmoving on the floor.

The people on my side tried to run through the docking hatch but all of them suddenly froze before they were lifted up into the air and floated back towards us.

Amber levitated until she was beside me and shot me a grin, "What should we do with them?"

"Do we know who they are?"

She nodded, "Mara already wrenched that information out of their minds. They're ex-military turned pirates after their unit was wiped out in a skirmish with some pirate lord. Now they work for that pirate lord based around this sector with their stealth unit to intercept ships moving along this route to rob them."

"So they were just really unlucky to run into us then? They weren't here specifically for us?"

"Hmmm~ Nope~ Although there's something interesting though… It seems like the pirate lord here is also looking for the same treasure as us."

I frowned a little at that, "They have the map as well?"

"Mmhmm~ A completed one, even. Mara's still getting more information from them so that would take a little while more."

I turned my attention back to the group of floating pirates in front of us, "In that case, we don't need this particular group to be alive for information, right?"

"Nope~"

"Then burn them all."

Amber giggled and snapped her fingers, prompting all of them to immediately burst into flames, they screams quickly snuffed out as the fire consumed them completely, leaving not even ashes behind.

Their armour and weapons then dropped onto the ground noisily and I realised Amber had specifically only burned people inside the armour and left everything else untouched.

Nice, we got loot then~ And their ships are still attached to us so we can also head in there and take whatever that's inside.

By now, I believe Lea should have also shot down the rest of their ships and--

My Codex let out a call notification and I tapped on it to see Ries's face pop up on screen.

"Boss? We've got a problem…"

I blinked at her, "What is it? More pirates?"

She didn't answer and simply switched the screen to show the outside of our ship.

There were a few wreckages of ships which meant Lea managed to shoot them down but three of them were still fully intact and floating a distance away from us, seemingly having dropped their stealth capabilities.

Despite staying still, Lea wasn't shooting them down and they weren't shooting at us either, the reason for that being clear as a large snake like creature was heading straight towards us.

I couldn't tell exactly how far away it was from us because it was so big that it blocked out most of the view outside the ship. For all we know, it might just be beside us.

Amber gasped, "A Leviathan!"

"Ries… Travel drives?"

"Already charged, Boss!"

"Get us out of here right now!!"

The snake creature opened its mouth and I was pretty sure with a mouth that size, it could have swallowed up an entire moon with one bite.

The three remaining pirate ships quickly flew off as well, disappearing into the darkness of space.

Right then, our Travel Drives activated and we were shot out into space once more, leaving the giant monster behind.

So that's a Leviathan huh…
