Chapter 211: The Trials of the Crimson Throne
The Ice Continent, once a frozen wasteland dominated by endless blizzards and treacherous storms, had transformed under Guy Crimson's rule into a bastion of demonic power and civilization.
But now, Guy could no longer rule directly.
With the decree from Beerus, he had to step away from his throne. However, choosing a successor would not be simple.
Guy was the strongest Demon Lord, and his kingdom was built on power. Only the worthy could rule.
Among all his demonic subordinates, three stood above the rest:
Mecha – A cold and calculating warrior, known for his intelligence and efficiency.
Raza – A fiery and unpredictable fighter, with a brutal, war-driven mentality.
Gord – The quiet but most physically powerful of the three, known for his monstrous endurance and strength.
Guy called them to his fortress of frozen obsidian, where he sat on his throne, his aura radiating absolute dominance.
The three demons kneeled before him, awaiting his decree.
Guy leaned forward, crimson eyes glowing like burning stars.
"You all know why you are here. The Ice Continent needs a ruler, and I can no longer be that ruler.
One of you will take my place. But only the strongest will sit on my throne."
He stood up, his aura flaring. The pressure was enough to make lesser demons crumble to dust.
"The Crimson Throne is not given—it is TAKEN. Prove that you deserve it."
The moment those words left his mouth, the trials began.
The trials would test three core aspects that a ruler of the Ice Continent must possess:
Strength – To dominate the wild demons and beasts of the land.
Tactical Prowess – To command armies and make war.
Willpower – To endure the Frozen Abyss and emerge unbroken.
Each trial would push the candidates to their limits.
First Trial: Strength – The Arena of Eternal War
The Ice Continent was home to countless demons and primordial creatures, some of which even Guy himself had once tamed through brute force.
For this trial, Guy had unleashed the wildest, most uncontrollable monstrosities in a colossal arena of ice and lava.
The Rules:
Mecha, Raza, and Gord must survive for an hour against endless waves of enemies.
The longer they last, the stronger the creatures become.
They are not allowed to help each other.
Mecha used his tactical mind, eliminating enemies with precise strikes and using their own movements against them. He fought like a master assassin, weaving through enemies and never wasting energy.
Raza fought with pure ferocity, laughing maniacally as he tore through the beasts with raw force. Every time he was injured, his rage only made him stronger.
Gord, unlike the others, didn't dodge. He stood his ground, tanking every attack with his unbreakable body. With each blow, he only grew more monstrous, adapting to pain like it was fuel.
As the trial neared its end, Raza began to falter, his reckless energy burning out.
Mecha was still efficient, but the battle was taking its toll.
Only Gord stood unfazed. He crushed the final beast beneath his massive claws, standing victorious.
Guy nodded approvingly.
"Hmph. Not bad. But raw strength alone isn't enough to rule."
Two trials remained.
Second Trial: Tactical Prowess – The War of Shadows
A ruler must command armies, not just fight alone.
For this trial, Guy created a massive battlefield, summoning two separate armies—one led by Mecha, the other by Raza.
Gord, having won the first trial, was given a unique challenge—he would fight ALONE against both armies.
The Rules:
Mecha and Raza must outmaneuver each other in a war simulation.
Gord must survive against their combined forces.
Mecha's army was fast and efficient, using ambush tactics, outmaneuvering the enemy at every turn. His troops moved like shadows, executing orders with machine-like precision.
Raza, on the other hand, led with reckless aggression. His army overwhelmed Mecha's with sheer numbers and brutality.
But then there was Gord.
Against both armies, he fought alone.
Instead of dodging or running, he broke through their formations, crushing entire battalions with monstrous power.
The battle lasted for hours, and in the end, Mecha emerged victorious in strategy, while Gord remained unbroken in raw force.
Raza… lost.
Final Trial: Willpower – The Frozen Abyss
The last trial was the most brutal.
Guy banished all three into the Frozen Abyss, a dimension of endless ice and eternal torment.
"Whoever emerges last is the winner. Simple."
Days passed.
The Abyss tested their minds.
Mecha's intelligence could not save him from the endless void of frost. He emerged first, knowing he had reached his limit.
Raza, for all his fury, could not endure the stillness. Without battle, he broke, screaming in madness.
But Gord never emerged.
A week passed. Then two.
Finally, after a month, Gord stepped out of the Abyss.
He had not broken.
He had become stronger.
Guy sat back on his throne, watching Gord kneel before him.
"You endured what the others could not. You crushed them in strength. You survived against two armies alone. You have earned the Crimson Throne."
Guy placed his hand on Gord's forehead, and a surge of demonic energy erupted, shaking the entire Ice Continent.
The Crimson Mark appeared on Gord's chest—the mark of a ruler.
"From this day forward, you are the new Demon King of the Ice Continent."
The demons of the Ice Continent roared in approval.
Mecha: "I accept this outcome. But if you fail, know that I will take back the throne myself."
Raza: "Tch… whatever. Guess I'll just have to enjoy causing chaos under your rule instead."
Gord: "I do not desire the throne… but I will bear this burden, because I am the only one who can."
Guy: "Hah! That's what I like to hear. Now, show me if you're worthy of keeping it."
And thus, Gord ascended as the new Demon King of the Ice Continent.
Guy watched from above, knowing that his kingdom was now in capable hands.
