When a God of Destruction Was Reincarnated in Tensura:

Chapter 212: Trials of the Dragon Queen

Milim Nava, the Celestial Tempest, once ruled the Dragon Kingdom with absolute authority. As a being of immeasurable power, she never needed a structured government—only her will and the fearsome presence of her dragons.

However, with her ascension as a Keeper, she could no longer rule directly.

And so, a new ruler had to be chosen.

But in a nation filled with proud and powerful dragons, selecting a leader was no simple task. Only the strongest, the wisest, and the most indomitable could take the throne.

Among Milim's most loyal subordinates, three stood above the rest:

Midray – A dragonkin warrior who was Milim's right-hand man, known for his unshakable loyalty and discipline. He was the most experienced leader and commanded the respect of the entire nation.

Reyza – A wild and unpredictable battle-hardened dragon who relied on sheer instinct and brute force. She was feared but also unpredictable.

Zodrak – A calm and strategic elder dragon, renowned for his wisdom and ancient knowledge. Though not the strongest in raw combat, his intelligence was unmatched.

Each of them had the strength, charisma, and willpower to rule, but only one could inherit Milim's legacy.

And so, the Trials of the Dragon Queen began.

Trial One: The Battle for Supremacy

A ruler must be powerful.

To prove their strength, the candidates had to battle against each other in a grand tournament—a no-holds-barred contest where only the strongest would emerge victorious.

The battlefield was set in the heart of the Dragon Capital, a colossal arena carved from volcanic rock. The skies burned with dragonfire as thousands of onlookers gathered to witness the battle.

Milim stood at the center, arms crossed, a fierce grin on her face.

"Alright, you three! Time to see if you're strong enough to be my replacement! No holding back! Fight like your life depends on it!"

First Match: Midray vs. Reyza

Reyza charged first, unleashing a torrential blast of draconic energy, trying to overwhelm Midray immediately.

But Midray, the calm and disciplined warrior, simply dodged with effortless precision and countered with a devastating punch, sending Reyza crashing into the ground.

Reyza roared in frustration, summoning all her power, her body glowing with red-hot energy.

She unleashed a storm of dragonfire, attempting to incinerate Midray.

But Midray simply walked through the flames, eyes glowing gold, completely unfazed.

"If this is all you have, then you will never rule."

And with one final punch, Midray knocked Reyza unconscious.

Second Match: Midray vs. Zodrak

Unlike Reyza, Zodrak did not rely on brute strength.

Instead, he created a battlefield of illusions, warping reality around Midray. The ground became unstable, and the sky turned into a vortex of shadows.

But Midray did not panic.

Instead, he closed his eyes, focused, and felt the real presence of Zodrak.

With one precise strike, he shattered the illusion and sent Zodrak flying.

The battle was over.

Winner: Midray

Milim clapped her hands, laughing loudly.

"Hahaha! That was amazing! But raw strength alone isn't enough to rule! Let's see if you can handle the next trial!"

And so, Midray advanced to the next challenge.

Trial Two: The Test of Leadership

A ruler must inspire their people.

For this trial, Milim presented Midray with a real-world problem.

A faction of rebellious young dragons, unhappy with the changes in the kingdom, were threatening to leave and start their own rule. If allowed to leave, it would weaken the Dragon Kingdom.

Midray had to resolve this conflict—but without simply using force.

Instead of immediately fighting them, Midray gathered the elders and representatives of the kingdom to discuss a solution.

"Strength alone won't unite us. If the young ones wish to rule, then let's challenge them the way dragons always do: through a fair battle. If they win, they can leave. If they lose, they will stay and obey the throne."

The rebellious dragons accepted the challenge but were quickly defeated.

However, instead of humiliating them, Midray offered them high-ranking positions under his rule, allowing them to grow stronger without abandoning their homeland.

Through wisdom and fairness, he secured the loyalty of the entire kingdom.

Final Trial: The Trial of the Sky King

The last trial was the most dangerous.

Midray had to ascend the "Sky Pillar," a titanic storm vortex that extended beyond the clouds—a place where only true rulers of dragons could reach.

The winds were powerful enough to tear flesh from bone.

Lightning struck endlessly, and the gravity was so strong that even the mightiest dragons struggled to move.

Many had tried to reach the top, but none had succeeded.

But Midray would.

Step by step, he fought against the crushing pressure.

Winds shredded his armor.

Lightning burned his flesh.

Gravity pulled him downward.

But he did not stop.

Dragons were watching from below, eyes wide with admiration. None had ever made it this far.

And finally, after a grueling day of climbing, Midray stood at the top of the Sky Pillar.

A golden light surrounded him, and a voice echoed in his mind.

"You have proven yourself worthy of ruling the Dragon Kingdom."

The Coronation of Midray

Milim stood atop a massive throne carved from dragon bones, watching as Midray kneeled before her.

She grinned proudly, placing her hand on his head, bestowing upon him a golden aura of leadership.

"From this day forward, Midray, you are the ruler of the Dragon Kingdom. Serve our people well!"

The dragons roared in approval, breathing fire into the sky.

Midray rose to his feet, eyes burning with newfound power.

"I swear to uphold the honor of the Dragon Kingdom and lead our people to a glorious future."

Milim laughed.

"Haha! Good! But if you mess up, I'll be back to kick your ass!"

The crowd erupted in cheers, and thus, Midray became the new Dragon King.

Milim watched from above, satisfied.

Her kingdom was in good hands.
