Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Purging the Filth
Meanwhile...
New York Continental Hotel.
Winston stared at the approaching Adjudicator, knowing his attempt to divert danger elsewhere had failed. Though disappointed, he had already prepared for war.
The Adjudicator walked up to Winston and coldly asked:
"Have you chosen your successor?"
Winston looked at the Adjudicator solemnly and replied:
"I refuse."
During the past week, Winston hadn't sat idle. He had summoned many assassins from New York who either owed him favors or were bound by blood-oath contracts. Only those loyal would dare oppose the High Table with him.
Hearing Winston's refusal, the Adjudicator responded:
"That is your decision."
Then she turned and dialed the Management Division:
"I wish to update a contract. Adjudicator 3C434A21. New York Continental Hotel: decommission."
After hearing confirmation from the other end, she hung up and turned back to Winston:
"Winston, this institution is now decommissioned. Work may now proceed within the hotel."
"Since you refuse to step down, your life will be taken."
"High Table enforcers will arrive shortly to erase your existence from this building."
"Good night, Winston."
Without another word, she walked away. Winston muttered to himself:
"No longer a safe haven."
He then called Charon:
"Our war with the High Table begins now."
After hanging up, he moved toward the hotel's weapons cache and panic room.
Soon, an announcement echoed through the hotel:
"Ladies and gentlemen, please be advised the Continental Hotel is now closed and temporarily decommissioned."
"We apologize for the inconvenience."
"Please proceed to the nearest exit."
The Adjudicator entered the hotel lounge and addressed Zero and his disciples:
"You may now carry out your work inside the hotel."
Before leaving, she added:
"We will send elite support shortly."
Zero smiled:
"Good, very good."
She returned to her room, awaiting the result of the judgment.
Soon, two armored buses stopped outside the hotel. Dozens of fully armed assassins, wearing specialized bulletproof gear, disembarked in tactical formation and entered the Continental.
The bloodshed had officially begun.
Elsewhere...
Assassin Alliance HQ – The Textile Factory.
Three armored buses approached and were immediately met with gunfire.
Ratatatata!
But the bullets had little effect. The buses were reinforced with armor and bulletproof glass.
They crashed through the textile factory gates with a BOOM, halting inside as armed assassins stormed out and returned fire.
Kira and Caine exited the vehicles wearing bulletproof suits, covering their heads.
Mr. X, from the rooftop, used a special weapon to enter bullet time, sniping High Table enforcers in the unprotected neck and face areas.
Despite full armor, they were no match for Mr. X's precision. The kill rate was slower, but consistent.
As losses mounted, the High Table pushed deeper into the factory, forcing Mr. X to reposition.
Meanwhile...
Smith Dole and his team arrived at the elder's main base, located deep in the desert within a rare rocky region. The facility was underground, taking advantage of the stable terrain.
Smith checked his power detector. None of the underground forces registered above 5 points. He understood why this elder was so fixated on John Wick.
He turned to Fox:
"Notify everyone to begin the attack."
Fox nodded, immediately calling Cross and the Gunsmith.
Upon receiving the order, Cross and the Gunsmith led their teams to attack Gamora and Gramont.
Following the elder into the base, Smith released Pool to assist and minimize casualties. Pool, though not as powerful as Smith, was a top graduate of the Transformation Academy and still formidable.
"Kill!"
At Smith's command, the elder was the first to fall.
Smith charged in, bulldozing through the enemy. Bullets were useless against him, and his Rōgafūfūken (Wolf Fang Fist) left no opponent standing. With the power detector, no one escaped.
Wesley and Fox went into dual-gun mode, killing without pause. John Wick, ruthless as ever, made sure to double-tap every non-headshot.
Soon, alerts of the elder's death and requests for help from Gamora and Gramont spread.
Smith's team wiped the base clean, not a single survivor. All hidden foes were detected and eliminated.
Despite Smith's might, his team still suffered losses. Eight injured, including John Wick, and three killed—all by grenades, not bullets.
Surveying the cleared base, Smith declared:
"One High Table seat eliminated. Take our fallen brothers. We withdraw!"
This battle showed John Wick just how powerful Smith Dole truly was—rivaling even Captain America. The strength of the Assassin Alliance was now clearer than ever.
Elsewhere...
With three elders attacked simultaneously, the High Table convened an emergency meeting. Only nine of the twelve attended.
