Whispers Of The Blue Moon

Chapter 14: Chapter 14 – The Blood of the Forgotten

In the Realm of Heaven – Ren's Chamber

A soft glow from the celestial lamps cast flickers of light across the grand marble walls of Ren's bedroom. The scent of healing herbs hung in the air, and the silence was broken only by the rhythmic beating of his heart as he sat beside the bed.

Fiona lay there, wrapped in silken sheets, her breaths shallow but steady. Her skin was pale, and her forehead shimmered with sweat. Ren had stayed by her side since she collapsed, refusing even the counsel of the High Council to leave.

As the first light of dawn trickled in, Fiona stirred. Her lashes fluttered open, revealing tired yet determined eyes. She saw Ren gazing at her with quiet concern.

"I have to go now..." Fiona whispered, slowly sitting up.

"You can't," Ren replied, his voice low but firm. "Look at you. You're still weak."

Fiona shook her head and pushed away the cup of medicine he offered. "Don't stop me. I have to go… I have to find answers." Her hand gently pushed Ren's away as he tried to hold her.

Ren's hand remained suspended in air, helpless, as Fiona's body shimmered with divine magic—and vanished.

"Fiona…" he breathed, voice laced with sorrow.

Moments later, Lia entered, holding a silver vial in her hands. "I brought the medicine for Fiona—" She paused mid-step when she saw the empty bed.

"She left," Ren murmured, standing slowly, but his body betrayed him. His knees buckled.

Lia rushed forward and caught him. "Ren! Are you okay?" she cried, supporting him gently. "You've exhausted your energy taking care of her."

"I'm fine…" Ren said faintly, still staring at the bed. His thoughts spun with unease. "Lia… back when Dylan choked me with his demon magic… do you remember a girl appeared—like a light piercing the shadows?"

Lia looked up, confused, but then her eyes widened as realization dawned. "It was Irin…"

Ren stiffened. "She… she dared to save me?" he whispered, his voice mixed with disbelief and awe. "Where is she now?"

"With care, I saw… Heaven Ancestor brought her back here, to Heaven," Lia answered softly.

Ren's heart thudded. "Irin… why?"

In the Purple Demon Palace

Dark and cold, the throne room of the Purple Demon Palace echoed with silence. Liora sat regally on her midnight throne, her eyes locked on a rectangular glass piece floating above her palm. Its surface shimmered with swirling magic, revealing a fading memory.

A young woman with warm eyes, playing with a little girl in a lush valley. The woman laughed gently, guiding the child's steps with love and warmth. That woman—was Liora.

And the child—her daughter.

Liora smiled faintly. Her hardened face softened for a fleeting second… until her assistant entered the room.

"We couldn't find her yet, my lady," the assistant reported nervously.

Liora's smile vanished.

"Search for her!" she snarled. "I want my daughter back… at any cost."

The glass cracked slightly in her tightened grip, but she didn't care. The memories would not be enough. She needed the child of her past—alive.

In a Mortal Village Hidden Beneath the Cliffs

Fiona, her robes dirtied from travel, knocked on the door of a weathered old hut at the edge of the village. The sky above was cloudy, and the air heavy with suspense.

The door creaked open, revealing an old woman with silver hair and sharp eyes. She blinked, examining Fiona from head to toe.

"I need your help," Fiona said with urgency.

"You… you're from the Heaven Realm?" the old lady whispered.

"Yes."

The old woman quickly pulled her inside, slammed the door shut, and whispered, "Why are you here? What do you want?"

"I need to know how to break the seal in the Great Lava Underworld," Fiona said without hesitation.

The old lady gasped. "I-I'm just a mortal. Why would I know such—"

Fiona reached into her satchel and revealed an ancient scroll. "Don't lie. I know who you truly are. The one who served Heaven and kept the records."

The woman's eyes widened in shock.

After a moment of silence, she sighed. "Only the blood of an Old Ancient Demon can break the seal. But that blood must be collected in a special vessel—an Ancient Glass Globe—so its power isn't lost to time."

Fiona's eyes glinted with new resolve. "Thank you."

Before the woman could ask why she needed such knowledge, Fiona vanished into thin air, leaving behind only a rustle of wind.

In BlueMoon Palace – Dylan's Chamber

Dylan lay in his royal bed, still and pale, but the dark wound across his stomach was slowly sealing. His breathing had returned, though faintly, and his face bore the marks of pain and confusion.

Ruther and Xizi stood quietly beside the bed, accompanied by a demon doctor draped in gray robes.

"He is getting better," the doctor said.

"But he hasn't awakened yet," Ruther replied with a worried frown.

The doctor looked up. "A Dragon Dagger does not kill unless the one who stabs is the bearer's true love. If not… it cannot pierce the soul completely. His wound is healing because of this."

Suddenly, Dylan's fingers twitched. His eyelids fluttered.

"Irin…" he muttered, voice hoarse.

All eyes widened.

He slowly opened his eyes. "Where is Irin…?"

No one replied. Their silence screamed louder than words.

To be continued…
