...

'Tch … What weird eyes'.

Looking at the young male perched on the distant branch, Levi clicked his tongue and uttered internally. Quite surprised at how his high-speed attack was evaded.

As a senior officer and Mankind's strongest soldier, Levi was extensively briefed on The Garrison incident.

Even if he wanted to, Erwin wouldn't have him miss a single detail. According to him, they could quite possibly be up against a dangerously hostile enemy. One who could match him in terms of speed and skill.

An outrageous possibility but one he was willing to entertain nonetheless. Hence, in the expedition, Levi had something to look forward to.

No one knew his own strength better than him. It would be interesting to meet this new superhuman Hange and Erwin claimed capable of beating him.

Now, it seemed that the report didn't carry a single exaggeration. Even now, he still hadn't figured out what method this … Opponent had used to evade him.

'It would be intriguing to find out'.

Levi thought, his face still expressionless.

"... If I remember right, your name Is… Seiji Uchiha. I'm really curious, how do you move so fast without any external help? Or is there, but I just don't see it?"

In response, Seiji played dumb. "... You are? …"

In that moment, a voice cut in.

"Cap-Captain Levi …". The blond male Garrison youth from earlier exclaimed.

"... It is. It's The Special Operations Squad Captain".

"Thank God. We're saved".

The Garrison soldiers all raised their voice, filled with a mixture of shock and relief. Just a moment ago, they thought they would die here. Now, with Humanity's Strongest Soldier, they could …

"Shut up, you cowards."

The words cut through the air like a blade.

Silence followed. The soldiers stiffened, eyes wide in shock as their momentary relief shattered.

To their expressions, Levi didn't even look at them.

"I'll deal with you later. Now …". He pointed to the Middle aged, armless man with his sword.

"…. Carry this loser and leave this instant. Before I kill you myself." his bland, indifferent tone sent shivers down their spines.

Their faces paled, realizing they were done for. Even an idiot would know their secrets were exposed.

Nevertheless, they didn't dare disobey.

Grappling cables shot out. The blond male with trembling hands, moved to take the injured comrade.

Instantly, Seiji frowned.

With a twist, a slight cloud of smoke appeared. Following which, a Kunai emerged in his hand.

Taking aim with his Sharingan, he raised his arm and threw lightly. The weapon piercing through the air, heading straight for the crippled middle-aged man.

The crippled Garrison soldier suddenly felt his blood run cold. An overwhelming sense of crisis flooding his nerves.

Nevertheless … CLANG!

The sound of metal striking metal resounded. In that moment, a sword appeared in the Kunai's path, collided against the bladed weapon and deflecting it.

The Kunai changed course, and hit the tree branch a few inches away from the Crippled Soldier's face.

His face twisted in fear and panic. The blond male youth beside him stiffened in shock, looking at the Kunai weapon and turned to look at Levi.

"Cap …" his words were caught in his throat. Seeing Levi's blade outstretched which had blocked the Kunai.

"… If you wish to live for a few more minutes …." Levi uttered, his eyes narrowing. "… I suggest you leave this Instant. Else, even I won't be able to protect you." The entire time he spoke, his gaze was fixed on the figure a distance away.

"… Uh … Yes sir. Thank you."

Nevertheless, his warning was enough.

The blond male youth grabbed the injured soldier man and leaped in panic. Together with the other Deserters, they grappled away fleeing.

"You stopped me from killing them. Why?"

Seiji did nothing as The Deserters escaped. His gaze fixed on Levi and his tone unreadable.

"…. Nothing really." Several seconds later, Levi replied. "Don't get me wrong. I don't care about the lives of those pigs. They'll pay for their crimes, but that should be done by the survey corps to avenge those their betrayal and cowardice affected…"

"Their fates rest in the hands of The Military. I can't have you killing them … before they are made an example of."

"…. I see …" Seiji said with a raised eyebrow. His tone equally nonchalant. "… It's too bad then. Oh well, yours should do just fine."

His words fell, the young Uchiha disappeared. Levi's eyes widened as a figure appeared before him before he could react.

BANG!

In that moment, Levi felt a tremendous force slam into his stomach, sending him flying backwards.

Levi Ackerman, Mankind's strongest soldier, was kicked from the Trees, and slammed into the earth.

Too bad, no one else was here to see it. Dust and debris scattered in all directions as Levi made contact. What followed was something he hadn't experienced in years.

Pain.

From his stomach and his back. The force sent throbbing sensations all over.

"… Ugh …" Levi groaned. Opening his eyes hastily. He was preparing himself to defend against the follow-up attack.

It came, but not from who he was expecting. Upon opening his eyes, the shadow of several figures lumbering into view fell over the Ackerman.

Turns out, the Titans beneath the tree hadn't gone anywhere.

In a split second, the grappling cables shot out of his gear, attaching to a nearby tree and pulling him away. Two seconds later, that area was slammed into by a Titan with its jaw wide open.

Pulling away, Levi flipped upright. Disconnecting one line before firing it upward. The Ackerman was pulled away from the Titans below to the safety of the trees.

Landing on a branch, Levi levelled his gaze into the distance. On the branch he had just been kicked out of, Seiji stood unmoving. Those ominous looking red eyes fixed with a touch of amusement.

In an instant, Levi's face darkened.

"Why, you little …" The grip on his weapons tightened.

'… It seems, Hange was right.' The Ackerman thought, his movements clearly guarded.

'This guy isn't like the others. Even with full concentration, I couldn't see his movements'. He analyzed.

'Tch, not good'.

He fired his ODM cable away and was pulled backwards. 'Just like when he dodged. Whatever he's using, it's so much faster than Maneuver Gear. This is gonna be tricky'.

Levi thought.

Of course, nothing was invincible. From his perspective, that kind of speed couldn't be sustained for prolonged fighting.

'In that case, I just have to find its weakness'.

He immediately took action, halting his movements and firing his cables upward, rushing into the treetops before disappearing in the leaves.

Seiji watched, the bloodstained sword still in his grasp.

"Not retreating, huh? …." he expected as much. Levi was humanity's greatest weapon even after Eren showed up. And probably remained as such until Season 4 of the series. After that? The answer was debatable.

Nevertheless, the point being that as the best option humanity had to offer, retreating after a loss in the first confrontation was unlikely.

"… If you aren't retreating. Then where are you …." It happened then. Seiji felt his ears twitch.

With conditioned reflexes, he raised his sword and struck towards his left.

CLANG!

In that moment, metal struck metal. Turning his gaze, both men could be seen staring at each other. Their gazes clashed.

'He even blocked that, huh?'

Levi thought. Instantly, he pulled away, making a flip over Seiji and striking again from the opposite end. The whole process was smooth, skilled and completed in a second.

'Gotcha …'.

CLANG!

Unfortunately, what he received was the sound he least wanted to hear.

'… What?' Levi's eyes widened.

ODM, standing for Omni Directional Mobility. The maneuver gear, like any weapon displayed different results under the usage of different people.

For The Garrison Regiment, It was a tool to climb walls, make turns and transverse long distances in the air. For the Survey Corps, its use was even greater. Making difficult turns, dodging attacks and switching directions.

In the hands of Levi Ackerman, that tool turned into something else entirely. Omni Directional Mobility. The use of Maneuver gear at its pinnacle could allow instant change of direction in any direction.

Left, right, up, down, curves, loops, It could take one from left to right in the blink of an eye. This tool, in the hands of Levi Ackerman, made him the strongest, fastest most efficient soldier in The Military.

Capable of killing Titans with extreme ease. After all, you can't eat what you can't touch. Levi was capable of impossible weaves, allowing him to move from point A to point B and strike an unguarded area.

The Female Titan in the Series didn't even last a full minute, with half that time spent desperately guarding her nape from being sliced apart.

In speed, Levi was unparalleled. Until today that is .....

Seeing his attack blocked yet again, Levi's brows furrowed even further.

'Tch …'. The man clicked his tongue as he changed direction and struck from another angle. This time applying much greater force.

It changed nothing. With his Chakra boosted physique, Seiji once again kept his sword at bay.

Once adapting to the insight brought by the Sharingan, one would be able to coordinate their movements to react in time to already predicted threats.

Understandably, The battle after became predictable.

With each passing second, Levi increased his attack speed, grappling from branch to branch, releasing a flurry of devastating attacks. The Gas in his tank burned at outrageous levels.

In an instant, the battlefield blurred with rapid movements and the sharp clash of metal. Levi struck from all angles, yet Seiji blocked each attack with uncanny precision.

The clash of blades lasted half a minute. No matter how many times he slashed, not one made it through.

Seiji stood in place, his eyes moving at a rapid pace. Following Levi's advance and retreat, every action, every shake, every movement of his muscles … It was all captured and interpreted by his eyes.

'Itachi … Madara … No wonder you could never shut up about Visual Prowess'.

Now he understood why. Frankly, It was intoxicating.

In terms of Insight, the boost Mangekyo gave was so huge that even Three Tomoe didn't feel like Three Tomoe.

Not anymore, at least. Few could understand the joy of anticipating an opponent's every move—and watching it unfold exactly as foreseen. It was like glimpsing the future.

No wonder the Uchiha were so arrogant.

CLANG! CLANG!

The sounds continued.

Levi retreated after yet another strike.

'This … Is unbelievable ..'. Levi didn't believe. Or rather, he couldn't believe it.

In the world of AoT, no matter how strong you were, unless you were a Titan shifter, then you would be useless without Maneuver Gear.

This simple law applied to all humans. The Ackermans, no matter how gifted they may be, weren't excluded.

No human could defend against an ODM attack without having an ODM gear of their own.

And yet, it was happening. Right before his eyes.

Not to mention, if that wasn't enough, then …

'… This too, huh? ….'. Raising his weapons, he was stunned to see multiple chips on his weapons.

The enemy hadn't made a single strike, yet his swords were getting damaged. 'What metal is his blade made of?'

From the initial blandness, to solemnity, Levi's doubts grew greater and greater.

The grappling line drew back. This time, Levi didn't follow up with another attacking flurry.

Instead, opting to stay on a tree at a far distance.

'… This is going to be much more difficult than I thought. He's not just reacting fast enough, he's predicting what I do before I do it'. His combat experience as an Ackerman couldn't deceive him.

During their exchanges, Levi could already see just what made this opponent so dangerous.

Superfast reflexes, not the slightest bit inferior to his. Greatly enhanced strength, enough to effortlessly block his attacks. Worst of all, a speed Levi wasn't sure how to react to.

'Throughout that battle, he hasn't moved from the Tree branch. Just where exactly did this monster come from?'

After Countless attacks, he couldn't land a single blow. This was bad …

Levi knew he was in possible trouble. Especially if …

It happened then. The moment The Captain disengaged the old blades to put on new ones, Seiji made his move.

Multiple Throwing weapons appeared in his hands at some point. Following which, they shot out in different directions.

Levi's eyes widened. The grappling cable shot out, latching to a nearby tree before pulling him. However, the weapons were already upon him.

The newly engaged blades shot out as Levi slashed and blocked. Out of Eleven Shuriken, Five missed its mark due to his rapid movement, and five were defended.

SQUELCH!

The last one, however, was unavoidable. Due to the collision of two unrelated Kunai, the weapon had deviated from its original trajectory, aimed from Levi's chest to his legs.

Piercing his flesh, and embedding itself into his thigh.

"Ugh". Levi groaned in pain. '… The attack deviated …'. Was it intentional or an accident? Levi didn't know. Nor could he spare the energy to think about it.

As he saw the figure of his opponent leaping in his direction. It was just a slight moment of distraction, so how did he get to him so fast?

'Move Dammit!' Levi yelled internally as he was pulled to one side.

Under his gaze, the opponent missed him by a fraction.

'Missed me. That was …'. His thoughts froze. As in that instant, he saw the Seiji that leaped at him burst apart into a cloud of smoke.

'… What the …'.

An object pierced through the air, cutting Levi's grappling cable before he could process it. The man looked up, just in time to see Seiji falling from above.

Time seemed to stand still. Then …

BANG!

Levi was slammed into by Seiji, shooting straight before crashing him against a tree bark. Pain shot up his body once again.

Even if he was superhuman, it wasn't by much. The force of the attack and the collision forced Levi to cough out a mouthful of blood.

"That was fun, but I think I've seen enough …"

A hand was placed on Levi's shoulder.

"…Now let's just confirm one more thing …" The words barely fell. The next moment, Seiji felt something rushing into his system.

To most people, it would be heard to detect. However, he was an awakened Ackerman. Also because, Seiji himself made no effort to hide it.

"…. Ugh … what are you …" The man reacted differently. Not understanding what was happening. Seiji however, didn't care.

"… I see. So that's what gives you your abilities despite having the same body structure …" he said, eyes lighting up with intrigue. Then, they lit up with something else.

Under Levi's gaze, Seiji's already abnormally red eyes, changed. Not in color, but in patterns.

For the second time, the young Uchiha activated his Mangekyo Sharingan.

'Genjutsu'. Levi felt a powerful force flow through his eyes and invade his mind, stunning him.

The cause of this, examined his reaction as he manipulated the infused chakra to take control over Levi's five senses.

This time, however, It was Seiji's turn to be shocked. His gaze turning incredulous as the Chakra infused into his Levi's system dissipating instantly.

His pupil power, seeming to be smashed with a hammer, as it collided with a mysterious force.

Instantly, Levi woke up from the trance.

"What did you do to me?"

Seiji's surprise lasted for barely a second. The next moment, his usually plain expression tuned into a full-blown grin.

"… I just hit Jackpot …"

Just after his spoke, Seiji acted again. Levi was shocked to see blood leak from Seiji's right eye. But the latter didn't care.

"… Mangekyo Technique: Junen No Sozoku".

------

Yeah, not what many people expected the Once In Ten Years Eye Technique to be used for. Most of you probably felt it would be better to get a Titan form. There is a reason why though. Will reveal in later chapters.
