Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Tenten's Sealing Techniques

Chapter 102: Tenten's Sealing Techniques

"Tenten, is Hyuga Neji usually hard to get along with? Seeing how arrogant he acts toward Hinata, he seems really full of himself," Ino quickly found a topic they could both chat about.

Tenten was busy cleaning her ninja tools. Like a ninja version of Doraemon, she pulled out hundreds of kunai and shuriken in the blink of an eye, meticulously cleaning each one.

Ino, on the other hand, even counting everything in her backpack and waist pouch, didn't carry more than twenty kunai and shuriken combined.

As her ninjutsu grew stronger, these tools had become less useful to her.

Tenten put down the tool she was cleaning and thought seriously for a moment before giving Ino a somewhat strange look.

She spoke bluntly, "Actually, I think you and Neji are quite similar. Both of you come from prestigious families, have strong talents, are smart, and train extremely hard. Plus, you both carry a lot of expectations personal hopes, the rise and fall of your clans, and the future of the village."

As she vented, she shook her head. Ino waved her hands repeatedly, trying to show that she was easygoing and didn't have the airs of a genius.

Tenten pouted, "Maybe it's because of your backgrounds. Neji is from the branch family, while your Yamanaka clan doesn't seem to have those kinds of issues."

Ino casually made something up, "Our family just sells flowers. We can't compare to the prestigious Hyuga clan."

Tenten wasn't entirely sure what the Yamanaka clan did, so she cautiously asked a few questions. Ino steered the conversation toward flower shop chains and monopolizing the flower market.

Tenten certainly wasn't going to betray her teammate for someone she had just met. When talking about Neji's abilities, she mostly gave general information things like his expertise in taijutsu, his calm demeanor, and his meticulousness all of which were details that could easily be found out.

Ino already knew enough about Hyuga Neji and wasn't looking to gather any crucial information from Tenten. After they got more comfortable, the conversation shifted to the endlessly passionate duo, Guy and Lee.

When it came to these two, the atmosphere immediately became more lively.

Tenten loved to roast them, and once she started talking about their antics, she couldn't stop.

It was then that Ino realized Tenten was a very pure-hearted girl.

While she found the passionate master and disciple duo's send-off at the village gate utterly cringe, her words still showed a sense of protectiveness toward them.

"Guy-sensei always says he's Kakashi-sensei's eternal rival. To catch up to Kakashi-sensei, who's known as a genius, he's put in so much effort."

Ino nodded seriously. Just because Guy nearly kicked Madara Uchiha (in his Six Paths form) to death, it didn't mean his daily efforts should be overlooked. It was precisely because of those efforts that he achieved such glory.

Ino herself worked hard, but she still couldn't compare to Might Guy.

Tenten then talked about Lee, "Lee is also an extremely hardworking person. In fact, I think he's a genius too a genius in effort!"

Suddenly, she became dejected, "Sigh! Being around such passionate people makes me feel so useless…"

"That's not true," Ino looked at her. "Tenten, you're too humble. You only see others' strengths and overlook your own. Your sealing techniques, in my opinion, are incredibly powerful. No one our age can surpass you in that."

She took out a sealing scroll and unsealed it, revealing some pots and pans that Choji often used. "See, I've also learned sealing techniques, but I can only seal things to this extent. But you…"

She pointed to the pile of ninja tools beside Tenten, "I can't even see your limits. In this area, you're more talented than all of us combined."

Bringing this up made Tenten sigh. She started venting her frustrations.

"Ino, you probably want to become a kunoichi like Lady Tsunade, right? Sigh… I want that too, but I just don't have the talent for ninjutsu."

She went on and on about her troubles.

Might Guy really didn't have much to teach Tenten, but he was a respectable teacher, and calling him "Guy-sensei" was no problem at all.

When he heard Tenten wanted to become a kunoichi like Tsunade, he went out of his way to beg a jonin to teach her medical ninjutsu.

He pestered the jonin relentlessly if they didn't agree today, he'd come back tomorrow. If they didn't agree tomorrow, he'd come back the day after.

The medical jonin, unable to withstand the pressure, gave her a few pointers.

Ino had ruined countless fish and pigs trying to learn medical ninjutsu without success. Tenten's chakra control was far worse than Ino's, and even with those pointers, combined with Guy's "if you don't learn this today, you won't eat" and "if you can't master medical ninjutsu today, do 3,000 push-ups" style of training, she struggled for a month and still couldn't even get a foothold in medical ninjutsu.

Hearing that Tsunade was skilled in summoning jutsu, she immediately switched to learning that, but still couldn't get it.

Then she tried to learn Tsunade's super strength, only to nearly break her hand.

Finally, she tried to emulate Tsunade's drinking and gambling habits, only to be thrown out by the shop owner. The outcome was utterly disastrous.

Left with no other choice, she focused entirely on sealing techniques. What she did wasn't even considered traditional sealing techniques sealing inanimate objects was just a small branch of sealing arts. But she had carved out a unique path in this niche field.

Ino shared some tips on chakra control, and Tenten taught her two sealing techniques at least some tricks for sealing ninja tools.

Soon, it was time to switch shifts.

Kurenai and Hinata came out to relieve them.

When Ino, Naruto, and Sasuke graduated, Kurenai had just been promoted to jonin. With her boyfriend being Asuma, who had the Hokage as his father, she was absolutely living her best life. This kunoichi was at the peak of her career enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, her proud genjutsu skills were utterly crushed by Itachi Uchiha. Later, she suffered the loss of Asuma, went home to raise her child, and didn't even participate in the Fourth Great Ninja War.

When Shikamaru visited, he said, "I'll protect you and your daughter."

An chunin protecting a jonin?

That didn't make sense. The Fourth War was a battle that determined the fate of the ninja world. For an elite jonin like Kurenai to stay home and raise her child instead of fighting on the battlefield?

It could only be said that Kurenai's mindset had taken a severe hit. After consecutive blows, she couldn't even bring out 20% of her strength and was in no condition to fight.

But the Kurenai of now was full of ambition. The more disheartened she would become in the future, the more enthusiastic she was at this moment.

"Kurenai-sensei, there's been no unusual activity from Hanare. I also didn't detect any ninja presence within a seven-kilometer radius," Ino reported during the handover. "We'll leave the rest to you and Hinata."

Kurenai nodded, "Alright, go rest."

Tenten and Ino each went into their tents to rest.

Ino left a shadow clone behind to keep up appearances, while her real body quietly left the tent to practice her Water Transformation Technique at a distant pond.
