Wolf Kissed Soul

Chapter 8: "The Journey of Nightmare. Or maybe, a sign?"

 (Flashback....)

" Dazy darling, wake up now! You'll be getting late for college!"

Her mother's voice echoed from the kitchen.

Dazy groaned, rolling over in bed: "Alright, mommy... I'm up."

Still half-asleep, she mumbled to herself, "Why do mornings have to exist anyway..."

Dragging herself to the bathroom, she glanced at her reflection in the mirror. And there he was-- the face of the boy she loved more than life itself---Robin.

His image flooded her thoughts like it always did.

She smiled dreamingly.

"Ohh Robin.... when will that day come?

When I'll finally tell you how deeply I feel. I can't wait anymore..."

But the smile faded instantly.

"Oh no....his match is today!'

She panicked, rushing to get ready. In the hurry, she didn't even touch her breakfast.

"Dazy, at least est something!" her mother called often her.

"No mommy! I really can't be late today. Please eat on time and take care of yourself, okay? Bye "

She called out, bolting through the door.

Robin was the captain of the college hockey team, and today's match was important.

Dazy had been waiting for this day for so long....but somehow, she'd nearly forgotten.

She wore a soft pink short frock with a deep neckline, a delicate necklace with the letter R engraved on the pendant, and tiny jasmine flower pinned into her silky long hair. Her makeup was ligh and sweet, matching her gentle personality. Apple shaped earrings, wide emerald eyes, fluttery lashes, and fuller pink lips made her glow like a love struck fairy.

Her baby soft jawline, subtle collarbones, and cute pink cheeks could have charmed anyone.

But her eyes saw no one except Robin.

Sadly, she had no idea who he truly was.

"Hey, Dazy!"

It was Nick, approaching with a smile.

"Hi, Nick! Quick---do you know where Robin is?"

"I knew you'd ask that", he chuckled.

"He's in the cafeteria right now."

"You're the sweetest, thank you!"

She smiled and hurried off.

But as Nick watched her go, his heart sank.

"If only one day... your eyes would leave Robin and see me instead. Maybe you'd realize someone else is ready to love you with his whole soul..."

At the cafeteria....

Robin sat confidently on a chair, surrounded by a group of giggling girls.

He was the most popular boy in college and every girl had a crush on him. But beneath the charm was a heartless playboy who used girls like toys.

And yet, Dazy loved him blindly.

She saw the crowd around him and hesitated, sadness flashing across her face. But mustering courage, she stepped forward.

"Robin.."

Her voice was soft, p almost trembling.

He looked up. "Oh girls, look who's here!"

(He often insulted her publicly, sometimes even bullied her. But to Dazy, his cruelty looked like harmless teasing -- because love had blinded her.)

Robin scoffed, "it's my match day today, so I really didn't want to see you, Dazy..."

Her lips quivered, " I...I just came to s--say...all the best ...."

"All the best?"

He stood and walked towards her. Her feet instinctively backed away, cheeks flushing red as she lowered her gaze.

He pinned her lightly against the wall.

Dazy's eyes fluttered shut.

But instead of leaning in... Robin turned and kissed Emily -- her own friend -- right in front of her.

Her eyes flew open, instantly filled with tears.

Her best friend betrayed her..

Robin grinned darkly, "Aw, don't be sad. I'm not in the mood today. Come back tomorrow -- maybe I'll take you to my bedroom then.."

The girls around him Burst into laughter.

Dazy said nothing.

She simply turned around, tears burning in her eyes, and walked away.

Later, in classroom....

" Students, we have a new classmate today. Please welcome her warmly," the teacher announced.

A confident voice followed. "Hi everybody... I'm aliyah."

"Hi Aliyah!" the class responded in unison.

"Aliyah, please take the seat next to Dazy". Teacher whispered to her.

She moved toward the desk beside Dazy and smiled. "Hi beautiful.."

Hi, Dazy replied quietly, not looking up. Her eyes were fixed on her book, her soul still broken from earlier..

Are you an introvert?" Aliyah asked gently.

Dazy's voice was cold. "We should focus on the lecture right now."

Aliyah blinked in surprise: " oh... sorry to disturb you."

Scene shift---- Hockey match....

Despite what had happened that morning, Dazy cheered for Robin as if nothing has broken her.

She screamed his name louder than anyone in the crowd. Her heart didn't care that it had been shattered --- it only wanted love.

Robin's team won.

Dazy celebrated like she always dreamed to..

But aliyah sat in the stands, watching her closely.

Because Aliyah...had once dated Robin herself..

She knew his true face better than anyone..

And she knew what was coming for Dazy..

She wouldn't let another innocent girl's soul be destroyed.

After match....

The field buzzed with celebration. Girls surrounded Robin, like bees to Honey--- laughing. Flirting, desperate for a moment for his attention.

Except Aliyah.

She stood at a distance, her arms fold, eyes narrowed in a quiet disgust.

Robin swagged towards her, smirking.

"Hi sweetheart. Couldn't resist seeing me, hmm?"

He reached out to brush her hair behind her ear.

But Aliyah caught his wrist, midair and shoved away..

"Shut up.."

her voice was cold as steel.

"One thing you better remembered. Dazy is an innocent girl, or maybe more than innocent!

So don't you dare to take advantage of that.."

Robin rolled his eyes and scoffed.

"Oh, Com on! Darling. I'm not doing anything. She's the one waging her tail around me.

What do you expect me to do?"

SLAP!

The sound echoed through the field like a crock of lightning.

Aliyah's hand still trembled, as she glared at him.

"Mind your language. You bastard."

Gasps filled the air, the girls went silent.

Robin just stand their. Jaw clenched, cheek burning.

Aliyah turned and walk away, without looking back...

At Night...

"Mommy, I'm really tired. I think I'll just go to bed now." Dazy said softly.

Her mom smiled gentle: " Alright dear, sweet dreams."

"Love you mommy." Dazy whispered while hugging her mom, tightly.

"Love you too, my child."

In the quit darkness of her room. Dazy tossed in her sleep. Trapped in another nightmare.

"No---no, please... pleaseeeee.

Please, don't eat me. I'm begging you..

I----I want to live."

 Her body trembled....
