Writing a Diary in the Shinobi World, and the Kunoichi Are Shocked

Chapter 63: 063 The Future of Itachi

"Orochimaru."

Pain Tendou looked at Orochimaru standing there, his purple Rinnegan exuding an aura of cold indifference.

"Yahiko's death was orchestrated by Konoha's elder Danzo and Hanzo of the Salamander."

"So what?"

Orochimaru spread his hands, looking indifferent.

"Therefore, as a Konoha ninja, you must atone for Yahiko's life."

Faced with Pain is threat and the overwhelming pressure of those Rinnegan eyes, Orochimaru simply smiled faintly and uttered something shocking.

"Don't get me wrong, I left Konoha this time..."

Orochimaru said softly.

"...without any intention of returning."

Pain is expression showed no change, though the pressure around him slightly subsided. He turned to Konan and said:

"Just as you said."

Then, Pain walked toward Orochimaru, slowly extending his right hand, his tone icy.

"Join the Akatsuki. Our plan requires your power."

Orochimaru chuckled and shook his head, mockingly.

"So this is how the Akatsuki recruits people? How childish."

He then turned to Night Star, smiling.

"Night Star-kun, why don't you show them the proper way to recruit?"

Night Star glanced at Orochimaru and said calmly:

"If you've decided to defect from Konoha, the Akatsuki is indeed a good place for you."

"For one, you can closely observe these Sage of Six Paths' eyes."

"Additionally, by joining the Akatsuki, you can use their resources to uncover hidden truths."

"Deciphering the ultimate mysteries of ninjutsu that's your life's pursuit. Whether the Akatsuki can fulfill it, I can't say, but it is indeed your best option."

After hearing this, Orochimaru looked at Pain and Konan on the opposite side with an amused smile and shrugged.

"See? That's how you recruit someone. Your way is just laughably childish."

Fortunately, Pain was merely a reanimated body, sparing him from showing an embarrassed expression.

Compared to Night Star, their recruitment technique was indeed far inferior.

They focused solely on what the target could offer the Akatsuki, without considering what the Akatsuki could provide in return.

Since his encounter with Konan, Night Star had noticed this flaw and couldn't help but complain in his diary:

"The Akatsuki's recruitment methods are, as Orochimaru said, laughably childish."

"But thinking it through, most of the Akatsuki members have their own agendas anyway."

"Obito and Zetsu are just using Nagato to gather tailed beasts. Their true goal is the Moon's Eye Plan to create a false world."

"Kisame Hoshigaki was recruited by Obito."

"Itachi Uchiha is a spy for Konoha."

"Sasori of the Red Sand wanted to turn Konan into a puppet, and Deidara wanted to prove his explosive art to Itachi."

"Hidan is a lunatic and a murderer."

"In the end, the only one truly attracted to the Akatsuki was the treasurer, Kakuzu."

"Hidan, Kakuzu, Sasori, Kisame Hoshigaki?"

When Tsunade saw the names appearing in the diary, Hidan was the only one she hadn't heard of.

As for Kakuzu, she vaguely remembered Tobirama mentioning him he was a ninja from the Land of Waterfalls.

His most notable feat was throwing a shuriken at Hashirama Senju from 800 miles away, earning him the title of "the man who dared to assassinate the First Hokage."

It was hard to say whether Kakuzu was foolishly overestimating himself or extraordinarily courageous.

Tsunade also knew about Sasori and Kisame.

The former was a genius puppeteer from the Hidden Sand Village who had long since become a missing-nin.

The latter was the most outstanding talent in the Hidden Mist's younger generation, known for his vast chakra reserves and mastery of Water Release techniques.

What shocked Tsunade the most was seeing Itachi Uchiha on the list.

She wasn't the only one.

All the kunoichi reading the diary had the same thought.

That Itachi Uchiha...

Is he insane?

Forced by Konoha's elders to annihilate his clan and kill his own parents...

Only to join the Akatsuki as a spy for Konoha?

How could anyone mentally stable make such an outrageous choice?

"That traitor Itachi..."

Thinking about Itachi Uchiha and his future betrayal of the Uchiha clan, Izumi felt her emotions intensifying.

Gradually, a new pattern of tomoe emerged in her eyes.

Three scarlet tomoe spun, emitting a faint, menacing red glow.

At that moment, Izumi's mother entered with some fruit and gasped upon seeing her daughter's eyes.

"Izumi, your eyes..."

Izumi turned, and the three tomoe disappeared instantly.

"Mother."

"How could you... even awaken the three-tomoe Sharingan..."

Izumi's mother covered her mouth, shocked.

She wasn't happy about her daughter's remarkable talent of awakening the three-tomoe Sharingan at such a young age. Instead, she was deeply worried.

In Uchiha history, there had never been someone like Izumi, who awakened the Sharingan without experiencing any significant events.

Moreover, her initial awakening had already reached two tomoe, just like Obito.

Such an exceptional gift was bound to draw suspicion from Konoha's higher-ups.

"Izumi."

Her mother placed her hands on Izumi's shoulders, crouched slightly, and said solemnly:

"Remember, you must never reveal that you've awakened the three-tomoe Sharingan. If anyone asks to see your two-tomoe Sharingan, just say you awakened it but lack the chakra to use it fully. Do you understand?"

"I understand, Mother."

"Good, as long as you listen."

After her mother left, Izumi stared at the diary's content with a complicated expression.

Why must Uchiha clansmen hide even the fact of awakening the Sharingan?

Why don't the other ninja in the village face such targeted scrutiny?

Night Star-sama is right.

To save the Uchiha clan, superficial negotiations will never work.

Only by making the village feel real pain can anything change.
