Chapter 31: Ten Thousand Swords Celestial Dragon vs. Nine Suns Burning the Heavens! Explosion!

“Not good—it’s someone from Blazing Sky Valley!”

Seeing Li Xun arrive with his magical compass in hand, both the six-tailed and three-tailed fox demons were alarmed.

For years, they had been on the run, like hunted animals, constantly pursued by Li Xun. On several occasions, they had narrowly escaped death at his hands.

“The Mysterious Flame Mirror!”

Li Xun’s gaze locked onto Xiao Yu, or more precisely, onto the ancient bronze mirror hanging at his waist. Engraved with incantations and adorned with a relief of a fire dragon, it was unmistakably the Mysterious Flame Mirror he had sought for so long.

Someone’s here?

Xiao Yu tucked the mirror into his storage pouch, his right hand instinctively gripping the hilt of his Lightweight Immortal Sword.

He had just finished extracting the poison spike from the six-tailed fox demon and barely had a moment to examine the mirror when Li Xun charged in, his avaricious eyes betraying his intent to seize the treasure.

“Immortal Master, thank you for saving me. Unfortunately, an old enemy has shown up, and I have no time to express my gratitude. Third Sister, let’s go!”

Sensing the dire situation, the six-tailed fox demon grabbed his sister and flew toward the cavern’s exit.

In the past, Li Xun had shown no mercy in hunting them. Yet this time, he didn’t attack or give chase.

His eyes remained fixed on Xiao Yu—or rather, Xiao Yu’s storage pouch.

“Young man, you must be from an immortal sect. I don’t care which one. Hand over the Mysterious Flame Mirror immediately, and I’ll overlook your meddling with the fox demons’ injuries,” Li Xun warned coldly.

Judging by Xiao Yu’s youth and his middle-grade flying sword, Li Xun assumed he wasn’t particularly powerful and dismissed him as a threat.

“If you want it, then you must prove that you have what it takes to claim it,” Xiao Yu replied, leaping onto his sword and flying toward the cavern’s upper reaches.

“Ungrateful fool!”

Li Xun roared in fury, summoning his Nine Suns Ruler to give chase. Simultaneously, he slapped his storage pouch, releasing six spears that hovered around him—each one a middle-grade magical weapon.

With a sharp whistle, the six spears shot toward Xiao Yu’s back, streaking through the air as crimson bolts of light.

Hearing the attack, Xiao Yu snorted coldly.

A fist-sized black stone shot out from his storage pouch, smashing into the six spears. With a series of resounding cracks, the spears were pulverised into fragments.

“So, this is the might of Blazing Sky Valley? Disappointing,” Xiao Yu remarked, shaking his head.

The Black Obsidian Spirit Stone, a rare and mutated spiritual stone, was as potent as a Nascent Soul-level treasure. The six spears, though fine weapons, were utterly outmatched.

“A supreme spirit stone! It’s actually a supreme spirit stone!”

Rather than anger over losing his spears, Li Xun’s eyes burned with greed.

If he killed this youth, he wouldn’t just recover the Mysterious Flame Mirror—he’d also claim a trove of other treasures.

“Compass of Heaven and Earth, attack!”

Li Xun hurled his magical compass forward.

As it flew, the compass expanded, growing to the size of a millstone. It plummeted toward Xiao Yu with crushing force.

“Pathetic,” Xiao Yu scoffed.

From his storage pouch, a jade seal emerged. Carved with a relief of rivers and mountains, the seal expanded into a towering hill that collided with the compass, sending it flying with a deafening crash.

“Damn it!”

Li Xun cursed as his magical compass shrank back and returned to his hand, now marred with a deep crack. The once-prized treasure was now irreparably damaged.

While he fumed over his loss, a voice echoed from above.

“You’ve attacked long enough. Now it’s my turn.”

Xiao Yu’s voice was calm, but his next move wasn’t.

“Ten Thousand Swords Celestial Dragon!”

With a resonant command, his Lightweight Immortal Sword trembled before splitting into thousands of blades.

The multitude of swords filled the narrow cavern, creating an overwhelming spectacle.

Under Xiao Yu’s control, the blades aligned and merged into a massive, dragon-like formation bristling with sharp edges and claws. The sword dragon roared and lunged at Li Xun.

“This is Tianyong City’s ultimate technique, the Ten Thousand Swords Celestial Dragon!”

Recognising the formidable attack, Li Xun’s face turned pale.

In an instant, he realised the true identity of his opponent: a disciple of one of the Four Great Immortal Sects.

The sword dragon bore down on him with unstoppable force.

Desperation drove Li Xun to unleash his own ultimate move. Summoning his only high-grade artefact, the Nine Suns Ruler, he activated Blazing Sky Valley’s supreme technique, the Blazing Sky Tome.

“Nine Suns Burning the Heavens!”

With a shout, the Nine Suns Ruler split into nine blazing suns, illuminating the cavern with searing light.

The intense heat melted the stone walls, turning them into rivers of molten rock.

Boom!

The colossal sword dragon collided with the nine suns, triggering a cataclysmic explosion.

The blast unleashed a shockwave that collapsed the entire cavern, burying Xiao Yu and Li Xun beneath a mountain of rubble.

Silence fell over the world.
