Georgie's POV
After that long night, I slept soundly. I know my parents want their kids to be successful and aim to guide them down the right path. But the 'right path' isn't always what comes out of their mouths.
I walked out of my room, and whether it was fate or something else, I bumped into George. "Hey..." he said, and I smiled.
"...Have you stopped crying yet?" I replied with a smirk on my face.
"Shut up." George said and walked away. George was raised with an iron fist, typical of parents from the '70s, who were rigid and old-fashioned. For them, crying wasn't an option—it was always 'fight back with your own fists.'
"You know, Sheldon is really good at math. He could come up with strategies to help the team win." I said, dragging Sheldon into a 'noble cause' to make Dad happy.
"Pfft, Sheldon?" George said, glancing over at Sheldon, who was happily eating his breakfast.
I walked into the dining room and saw my family, especially Mom, making toast with a big smile on her face.
"Good morning, my man." she greeted me, teasing as usual.
"No! Georgie is my man!" Missy said, running toward me and giving me a hug.
"What do you know about that word, young lady?" I asked, ruffling her hair.
"I don't know." Missy replied, but she didn't let go of the hug.
George ignored Missy and me, turning instead to Sheldon. "...Can you do it?" he asked. Before Sheldon could respond, I interjected, "The question is, do you trust him?"
Sheldon glanced at me. "If I have enough data, I can make a plan for the team."
I looked at George, who was still staring at Sheldon, "Sheldon, what should be done on fourth down?" I asked Sheldon. "Everyone says you should punt. Do you believe that?"
"Statistically, always punting on fourth down doesn't make sense." Sheldon said, looking back at George.
"Sheldon, I've been playing and coaching football for a long time. I don't think what you're saying is true." George said, looking at Sheldon and me.
Missy returned to her seat and gestured for me to sit next to her. "Brother, you want some eggs?" she said, trying to cut her scrambled eggs.
"No you can eat that, you need to grow up and become a beautiful lady." I said, smiling at her.
"Okay!" she replied enthusiastically.
I turned back to Sheldon and George, who were still discussing punting on fourth down. "You know, punting on fourth down can actually be considered a wise decision, Sheldon." I said, though I had been the one encouraging him to talk football in the first place.
"See? I told ya!" George said with a triumphant grin because I had sided with him.
Sheldon furrowed his brows at me, displeased. "Why is that?"
"Well, I guess it depends on the field conditions. Punting reduces the risk of giving the opponent the ball near the end zone. But if the team is close to the first down at the 10-yard line, you've got to try. Sheldon is right about the 50-50 chance." I explained, grabbing a slice of toast Mary had spread with jam.
"Thank you." I said to her.
Mary kissed my cheek. "Anything for my man!" she chuckled. "...You're not letting that go, huh?" I sighed, ignoring her teasing laughter.
But when I sat beside Missy, she suddenly kissed me on the cheek Mary had just kissed. "Hey!... The other cheek hasn't been kissed yet." I said, offering my right cheek with a smile.
"Huh... You're really hopeless, huh, big brother..." Missy muttered and kissed my other cheek with a grin.
Sheldon and George stared at me, looking annoyed. "Ahem… Anyway, punting on fourth down isn't bad. It's your judgment as a coach that leads the team to victory. Sheldon's data just helps guide you. It's up to you to make the right decision." I said, returning to my breakfast.
"...Sometimes, I forget you're about 15." George muttered. "Can you help me?" he asked Sheldon.
"Sure. Like I said, if I have enough data, I can help... and I'm always right." Sheldon replied, giving me a look.
"Of course... You've been handling the family taxes since you were six, and we've never been audited, right, Mom?" I said with a proud smile.
"That's true!" Mary said, walking over to Sheldon. "You know, we even got a tax refund last year thanks to my genius boy!" she exclaimed, kissing his cheek.
Sheldon smiled smugly, but I didn't mind his proud look. Sheldon is special. Yeah, I know what makes him 'special.' and a little credit will keep him motivated.
I ruffled his hair, earning a grumble from him, but he didn't push my hand away.
"...Dad, you need to replace the tissues in our room. You used up a lot last night." Missy's voice suddenly broke the moment. George quickly excused himself, "...Gotta go." and left the room.
I laughed and called after him, "Drive safe, I love you!" George paused briefly, turned back, and waved to us. "We love you too!" Mary said instead of George, kissing all three of us.

3rd POV
Sheldon and Georgie walked down the school hallway. The other students paid no attention to them, long past being impressed by Sheldon's presence.
"Georgie, I want to ask you something." Sheldon said. He watched Georgie smile and greet a few people he knew.
"Sure." Georgie replied, turning back to Sheldon.
"Why did you write a song about the Lord? You're not particularly religious." Sheldon asked.
"Wow, no small talk, huh?" Georgie replied.
"...You wrote another song?" A girl's voice suddenly cut in beside them. "Hello, Sheldon. Hi, Georgie." Veronica greeted them both with a smile.
"Hello." Sheldon said, glancing at Georgie again. Georgie turned to Veronica, "Hi there, beautiful."
"...Don't change the subject. Did you write a new song?" Veronica asked, ignoring Georgie's flirtation. She had to.
"Yes, he wrote a song about the Lord, and... actually, I don't really know what the song means." Sheldon admitted, only aware of the word 'Lord' and that Georgie had involved him somehow.
"Oh, really?" Veronica said, looking into Georgie's eyes to see if he was lying.
"Yeah, it's... family thing." Georgie replied without blinking.
"...Alright, I believe you." Veronica said, walking with them.
"Georgie, you still haven't answered my question." Sheldon pressed.
"Well… because the words 'God' and 'Lord' have deeply symbolic and emotional meanings. Those words can evoke emotional and spiritual reactions in people who hear them. You saw Mom and Dad's expressions, didn't you? Well, let's leave Memaw out of this." Georgie explained, though it only made Sheldon more confused.
"It's just a word, and you don't believe in it either." Sheldon remarked.
"No, Sheldon… I actually do believe." Georgie said, surprising Sheldon, who stopped for a moment. "I just don't show it. God is in our hearts… believing in Him makes our hearts calm, and I like that." Georgie added.
"…I don't believe it. I want to know the truth about this universe, and I will study it." Sheldon said seriously, staring at Georgie, whose face was full of… a smile?
"And I believe you will do it." Georgie replied, ruffling Sheldon's hair.
"…You believe me?" Sheldon asked again.
"Well... if not me, your brother, then who else will believe in you? Soon, you'll win a Nobel Prize for your discoveries." Georgie said with a grin.
Sheldon nodded, feeling even more motivated to win the Nobel Prize.
"…Sorry, but Sheldon, I want to know why you're asking about Georgie's song. Do you not like it?" Veronica, who had been left behind in the brothers' conversation, interjected to inquire further about Georgie's song.
"Oh no, it's really good… my dad and mom were crying with a… smile? Why were they smiling and crying at the same time? Sadness and happiness are different—that I know." Sheldon said, looking at Veronica.
"That's tears of happiness." Veronica explained. "They were crying? Really? How powerful is your song?" Veronica asked Georgie, but Sheldon answered instead.
"That's why I want to know too… Why were they crying while being happy? Why did Dad cry even though he doesn't believe in God?"
"Oh, brother, you've got a lot to learn about human emotion." Georgie said, sighing. "That's okay. I'll teach you a lot, and experience will guide you to understand human emotions."
"…You talk to your brother like he's a robot." Veronica said, playfully punching Georgie's arm.
"Don't tell him that—that's a compliment for him." Georgie said, pointing to Sheldon's face, which was now smiling at Veronica's remark.
