Georgie's POV

Miss Fenley has said that I can meet her friend today. I didn't know who Miss Fenley wanted to introduce me to but I chose to be with my parents even though I trusted Miss Fenley.

"Mom… can you drive me?" I asked, watching Mary as she loaded clothes into the washing machine.

"Where to?" Mary asked, turning to look at me. I had already been told by Miss Fenley that her friend in the music industry was willing to meet me.

"My music teacher. You know Miss Fenley, right? She has a contact in the music industry, and she wants to introduce me to them." I said, averting my gaze. "Where's everybody else?"

"Oh my! Is that true?! Is my son going to be a star?!" Mary exclaimed, dropping the laundry basket and covering her mouth. "Where's George?! George!!" she shouted, looking around for him, though I already knew he wasn't home since I had checked earlier.

"Where is he?!" Mary asked again, looking at me with hesitation.

"…Oh, right, he's at school coaching the team for the big game in two days. Is it okay if it's just me taking you? Missy is with Veronica—'girls time,' she said—and Sheldon is at the comic book store with Tam."

"Hmm, Missy will be upset with me if I don't bring her along… but it's okay. We're just going to talk to this person, and I don't plan to sign anything with them." I said, aware that signing contracts required a lawyer, and I wasn't about to be tricked into a bad deal.

"Alright then! Let's go!" Mary said, taking me out of the house.

"Wait, what about your laundry?!" I asked, noticing the scattered clothes left behind.

"That can wait!" Mary replied cheerfully.

"You should leave a note for Dad and the rest of the family first!" I added, making Mary stop in her tracks.

"You're right." she admitted, quickly scribbling a note before pulling me along again.

"Let's go! Oh boy, I'm so excited!" Mary exclaimed as she dragged me out the door.

3rd POV

"Veronica, why did you invite me to get ice cream?" Missy asked while eating her ice cream, eyeing the woman across from her.

"I just… wanted to spend time and get closer to you." Veronica replied, taking a bite of her own ice cream.

"Why?" Missy pressed, looking directly at her.

"Nothing really important…" Veronica said, avoiding her gaze.

Missy shrugged. "Well, as long as I get free ice cream, why not?"

Veronica smiled again. "We should do this a couple more times, you know… girls' time." she said, using air quotes.

"Oh, that's really awesome." Missy said, smiling back. "I really like girls' time with you… especially with this free ice cream." Her comment made Veronica giggle.

"It's okay. I know why you invited me to hang out with you." Missy said nonchalantly, still scooping her ice cream.

"…You do?" Veronica asked, her smile stiffening.

"Of course. You want to get close to my brother, right?" Missy replied, staring at her. "I'm his favorite girl, so you're trying to get close to me to get closer to him, right?"

Veronica let out a small, awkward laugh. "…Is that okay?" she asked hesitantly.

"It's okay. I like you. I think you'd be a good girlfriend for my brother." Missy said casually.

"Really?" Veronica asked, her smile growing wider. "Did you know your brother is quite popular with the girls at school?"

"Yeah, I know." Missy sighed. "I can't imagine what it'll be like if my brother becomes a famous singer someday."

"A famous singer?" Veronica said in surprise. "He wants to be a singer?"

"Yeah. When I told him I'd rather he be a singer than a football player, he went straight to my dad and told him he was quitting the football team." Missy said enthusiastically.

"…Your brother really loves you, huh." Veronica remarked. "I once told him he'd be better off as a Rockstar, but he said he'd think about it… but one word from you, and he's determined to become a singer, huh."

Missy grinned. "Of course! He loves me so much!"

Veronica snorted playfully and then smiling back at Missy. They continued talking about everything—boys, family, Georgie's fans—and became much closer to each other. Veronica had won Missy's heart.

3rd POV

"George, where's Georgie?" Wayne asked, scanning the field. Georgie was nowhere to be seen, and he hadn't shown up for the past few days.

"He quit." George replied, jotting something down on his clipboard without looking at Wayne.

"What do you mean he quit?" Wayne asked, opening his mouth in disbelief. He couldn't believe George would let Georgie quit playing Football.

George looked up. "He quit playing football." he said, showing no disappointment on his face.

"What happened?!" Wayne asked, still stunned. "He's got talent, George!"

"I know." George replied, gazing at the field. "…Let him be what he wants to be." he said wisely.

"…What the hell are you talking about?!" Wayne snapped, raising his voice and trying to calm his frustration.

George smiled faintly and patted Wayne's shoulder. "I'm not going to force my will on my son. He's gonna be a grown man. Maybe if you had kids, you'd understand what it feels like."

"…You're really stupid, George!" Wayne retorted but realized he couldn't do much. Georgie was George's son, and if George didn't want him to play, there was no changing it. "…I thought we were going to dominate the field this season." Wayne sighed.

"About that…" George began cautiously. Wayne looked at him, sensing something bad.

"…I want to use my son's…sheldon… statistic game." George said hesitantly.

Wayne's bad feeling intensified. "WHAT STATISTIC?!"

George felt guilty but decided to trust Sheldon—no, Georgie. "Just one game." George said firmly.

Wayne shook his head. As an assistant coach, he could only advise, while George, as head coach, held the final say.

3rd POV

"I enjoy this comic, but I find it hard to read the onomatopoeia." Sheldon said, looking at Tam, who was utterly confused.

"…What?" Tam replied.

"Onomatopoeia." Sheldon repeated. "Words that imitate sounds." he explained with furrowed brows. "Kthoom… Snikt… Bamf."

"Writers shouldn't make up words." Sheldon added, looking at Tam.

"…Somebody made up 'onomatopoeia,'" Tam said sarcastically, though Sheldon missed the sarcasm entirely.

"You challenge me. I like that." Sheldon replied.

"…Yeah, right. I'll grab some Red Vines." Tam said. "Do you want anything?"

"No, thank you." Sheldon replied.

"Okay." Tam said, walking off to buy snacks.

Sheldon wasn't traumatized by food but was engrossed in reading comic books because of his brother and his father. By the time Tam returned, Sheldon had already finished reading a DC comic.

"Why doesn't Superman just defeat Batman quickly in The Dark Knight Returns?" Sheldon asked Tam, pointing to the comic he had been reading. "Superman is stronger than Batman. I don't understand why he can't just beat him easily."

"Huh… Sheldon, you're still new to this world. You need to read more comics to get it." Tam replied, chewing on his Red Vines. "Batman and Superman are best friends. Superman knows Batman has returned to fight crime, but the government sees Batman as a threat. They sent Superman to take him down."

"…Then why doesn't he just defeat Batman quickly? With his superpowers, I'm sure he could beat Batman in no time." Sheldon insisted, flipping through the comic again.

"Because Batman is prepared and has advanced technology… plus, he knows Superman's weakness." Tam explained.

"I know that, but why couldn't Superman defeat Batman before Batman used Kryptonite? Superman knows Batman's location and his true identity." Sheldon argued, clearly unsatisfied.

"…You're not listening to what I said earlier, are you? Batman and Superman are friends! You don't just kill your best friend easily, Sheldon." Tam said firmly. "Emotions are another weakness of Superman. Do you know why Batman and Robin wear masks? Or why other superheroes wear them?"

"…To hide their true identities." Sheldon replied with a puzzled look, staring at Tam.

"No… I mean, yes… but it's also to protect the people they care about from the consequences of their work." Tam explained, his tone growing more animated.

The conversation heated up as Sheldon continued to ask questions about everything he didn't understand in the world of comics.

Meanwhile, Georgie and Mary stared helplessly at two women seated across from them, especially Mary, who looked particularly resigned.

30 Minutes Earlier: Georgie's POV

I walked toward Miss Fenley's friend's house. "Hmmm… I'm nervous." Mary admitted, eyeing the two-story house with a beautiful yard. She looked around, waving back at some employees who greeted us.

"Georgie!" Miss Fenley's voice reached my ears, and I saw her approaching with a woman beside her. I smiled at her but couldn't help sneaking a glance at the woman next to her.

"Hello." Mary greeted Fenley.

"Mrs. Cooper, good to see you." Fenley said, shaking hands with my mom. "Sorry for the short notice, but Rosie has been incredibly busy lately." She gestured toward the woman beside her. "This is Rosie, and that's my student Georgie." she said, motioning toward me with a polite smile.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Rosie." I said, shaking her hand.

"Nice to meet you too, Georgie." she replied with a warm smile.

"And this is Mrs. Cooper, Georgie's mother." Fenley added as the two women shook hands.

"So… shall we?" Rosie asked, inviting us to take a look around the property.

"Is this your house?" I asked Rosie, walking beside her while Fenley and Mary trailed behind.

"It… was." Rosie said with an awkward smile at my question. Something about her tone felt off. I glanced at Fenley, who avoided my gaze.

"No, it's my house… but I want to turn it into an office for a while, and a studio…" Rosie explained.

"Oh…" I replied, looking back again. I noticed Fenley watching an employee mowing the lawn, seemingly uninterested in our group. Mary gave me a confused look.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Huh…" I hesitated, then looked at Rosie again. "…Basically… you haven't started your company yet, have you?"

Rosie averted her gaze guiltily. "…"
