Yu-Gi-Oh: I have a Card Printing Skill!

Chapter 14: Brothers... Assemble!

After defeating the Duel Spirit Yuki-Onna, Yumi smirked and walked toward her, his steps slow, deliberate.

The pale ghost girl, still on the ground, looked up at him with wide eyes. As his shadow loomed over her, she instinctively backed away, crossing her arms over her chest.

"W-What are you planning to do to me...?" she asked in a trembling voice.

Celina nearly tripped over herself at how that sounded.

"Oi, don't say it like that!" she snapped.

It made Yumi sound like some villainous pervert about to harass a helpless ghost girl.

Yumi, unfazed, just smirked and crouched down. He reached out, not for her, but for her deck.

"Since you belong to me now…" he said casually, pulling out her deck and waving it. "I'll be taking this."

Celina let out a long, tired sigh and quietly lowered the big stick she had picked up, fully prepared to club Yumi unconscious.

She was this close to committing justified violence.

Luckily for him, he was only interested in the cards.

Yuki-Onna blinked in disbelief, a little pout forming on her lips.

He wasn't interested in her at all, only her deck.

She opened her mouth to complain, but then she saw them.

Standing right behind Yumi were the two Exosisters: Gibrine loading her rifle with a click, Asophiel silently drawing an arrow.

Both Duel Spirits glared at her with the practiced intensity of senior exorcists.

Yuki-Onna's pout died immediately.

She looked away, grumbling internally.

"Tch... What can I even do? They're the seniors here. I just got drafted into this household."

If she caused trouble now, those two wouldn't hesitate to drag her out back for a 'friendly' sparring session.

And with how tight-knit Duel Spirits were to their master, the senior Duel Spirits would be the ones to correct the behavior of the new junior Duel Spirits; complaining would only make it worse.

Resigned, Yuki-Onna lowered her head.

"…Ughh. I'll be in your care from now on, Master. Seniors."

With a small shimmer, her body dissolved into spirit particles and flowed into the deck now in Yumi's hand.

"So… that's what a Duel Spirit is."Celina walked over to Yumi's side, finally lowering the large stick she had been seconds away from using to clobber him.

"Pretty much," Yumi replied, casually slipping the newly claimed deck into his pouch. He turned just in time to see a massive man in a black trench coat swinging a thick, gloved hand toward Celina's neck.

"Look out!"

Yumi reacted instantly, shoving her out of the way. The man's strike connected with Yumi's left shoulder instead, the impact sending him crashing into the ground with a sickening thud. A sharp crack followed, his arm hanging limp and twisted at the socket.

"Yumi!" Celina scrambled to her feet, eyes wide.

Then she saw it.

On the attacker's shoulder was an unconscious Obelisk Blue student, long blonde hair trailing down like a silk curtain.

"Alexis!?" Celina shouted in disbelief, rage boiling in her voice. "Unhand her, you creep!"

The large figure didn't respond. Instead, a thick white mist rolled in around them like a creeping fog. Before Celina could act, the man backed into the shadows, taking Alexis with him.

And just like that, he was gone.

"What? Where did?!" Celina spun around, trying to catch even a trace, but there was nothing.

She cursed under her breath and turned back to Yumi, who was lying on his side, clutching his shoulder.

"Yumi, are you alright?" she asked, kneeling beside him.

"I'll live," he muttered through gritted teeth, wincing.

Celina inspected his arm, frowning. "Dislocated."

Without hesitation, she moved behind him."Hold still."

"Wait, wha-"

POP!

Yumi bit down a shout as his shoulder was wrenched back into place with a loud, wet snap. His body trembled slightly as the pain subsided.

"There. That should do for now."

"...What the hell, that hurt like crazy!"

"Suck it up. I saved you a trip to the infirmary."

Yumi glanced over his shoulder at her. "How do you even know how to do that?"

"My brother forced me to learn martial arts when I was a kid," Celina replied, dusting herself off. "Picked up a few tricks… including joint resets."

She extended a hand to help him up.

"Thanks," he muttered, reluctantly accepting.

As she pulled him to his feet, both of them turned toward the direction where the mysterious man had vanished, with Alexis.

The forest was silent again.

According to his memory, the person who just attacked them and kidnapped Alexis was Titan, a fake Shadow Duelist. Using smoke and a holographic illusion to create a feeling similar to a Shadow Game to trick his opponent.

Later on, when he became a Shadow Rider, he was able to cast a real Shadow Game, only to lose in that same game.

It's like someone pretending to be evil only to get their ass kicked, then when they actually become evil, they still get their ass kicked.

Talk about pathetic.

Yumi sprinted toward the Abandoned Dorm, already knowing exactly where that bastard was taking Alexis.

Celina followed close behind, her footsteps echoing against the broken floorboards as they burst into the old, rotting structure. They moved fast, not slowing down even when they passed Jaden and his group further inside.

Jaden blinked in confusion as they ran past. "Was that Yumi?"

"And Celina?" Syrus added.

"Where are they going in such a rush...?" Chumley asked aloud, but none of them followed. Not yet, at least.

Yumi and Celina barreled through a rusted doorway and down a long, narrow tunnel, the darkness around them thick with moisture and decay. Eventually, they emerged into a wide underground cavern lit only by flickering torches, their light casting distorted shadows against the walls.

In the center of the chamber was an altar, ominously placed, dramatic, and somehow still standing after all this time. And lying on the stone platform, surrounded by tendrils of white mist, was Alexis Rhodes.

"We found you!" Celina shouted.

From within the swirling mist, a figure rose, tall, broad-shouldered, and wrapped in a black coat. The mist parted to reveal a metal mask and glowing eyes.

"Welcome... Jaden Yuki," the masked man said, raising his head slowly, trying hard to sound mysterious. "I am Titan, the Shadow Duelist!"

Yumi: "..."

Celina: "?"

Oh right, Yumi remembered. In the anime, Titan was hired by Crowler to lure Jaden Yuki into the Abandoned Dorm, hoping to use the incident to expel him from Duel Academy. Crowler probably didn't give Titan much more than "Slifer Red, male, lean build, name's Jaden." So, Titan mistook Yumi for him.

"Hand over Alexis, now," Celina growled, her fists clenched as she stepped forward.

Titan ignored her and continued speaking in his monotone voice. "I'm the Shadow Duelist, who controls the shadow games."

"Shadow games?" Celina echoed, confused.

"The Shadow Games is a contest between two people that involves a harsh Penalty Game for the loser." Yumi gives her a quick explanation.

Titan chuckled. "Your knowledge of the shadows is impressive... Jaden Yuki."

Yumi sighed. "...Sure. Let's go with that."

"If you want your friend back," Titan continued, dramatic as ever, "you must defeat me in a Shadow Game, Jaden Yuki!"

"Wait, he's-" Celina started, but Yumi beat her to it.

"Fine," he said, stepping forward since this guy had mistaken him for Jaden, he wasn't going to bother correcting him.

Yumi raised his left arm only to wince, clutching his shoulder. His arm is still recovering from being dislocated not too long ago.

Before he could reconsider, Celina stepped in front of him.

"Let me."

Yumi blinked. "Celina...?"

"Your arm's injured. You can't duel properly like this," she said firmly, supporting his weight with one arm and raising her other to activate his Duel Disk. "I'll duel for you. You just tell me what to play."

Yumi stared at her for a moment. She was serious and determined to help him. He had taken a hit for her earlier. He hadn't hesitated to protect her or go after Alexis.

Now it was her turn to have his back.

He gave a small nod, then pulled a deck from his pouch with his good hand and handed it over.

"Use this one. I'll guide you through it."

This kind of duel happened before, where one duelist is injured, so another person helps them duel while they give out commands and instructions on what to play.

Celina nodded and slotted the deck into her Duel Disk. The device powered on with a mechanical whir.

Titan raised his arm as well. His Duel Disk hissed open.

"DUEL!!" x2

[Titan, LP 4000]

[Yumi, LP 4000]

"I'll go first. Draw!" Titan said, his voice cold and composed as he drew his opening card.

At that moment, Jaden and his friends finally caught up, bursting through the entrance to the cavern.

"Yumi! Celina!" Jaden called out, with Syrus and Chumley catching their breath behind him. The underground tunnel had clearly slowed them down.

"What's going on here?" Jaden asked, eyes immediately landing on the unconscious Alexis laid out on the altar.

"This creep kidnapped Alexis," Celina said, still glaring across the field at Titan. "We chased him here, and now he's got it in his head that Yumi is you."

Titan blinked. "...Wait, you're not Jaden Yuki?"

"That's right," Yumi finally spoke up. "You never asked. You just assumed."

For a moment, Titan's eye twitched behind the mask, but he quickly composed himself again, waving it off with forced calm.

"It doesn't matter," he said. "A Slifer Red like you doesn't have the chance of beating me."

With a flourish, he played a card from his hand.

"I'll Normal Summon Skilled Red Magician."

A crimson-robed mage appeared on his field, gripping a long staff. The red cloak flowed behind him as he took position.

[Skilled Red Magician, 1600 ATK]

"Next, I'll play Pot of Greed, letting me draw two cards."

As the familiar green pot with the maniacal grin appeared and vanished, Titan quickly drew.

"When a Spell is activated, my Red Magician gains a Spell Counter."

One of the glowing orbs embedded in the magician's chest lit up.

"Then I activate Allure of Darkness! I draw two, and banish Horn Imp from my hand."

He did so swiftly, and a second orb on the Red Magician lit up.

"Now field spell... Pandemonium!"

The field shuddered as demonic energy surged outward. Stone pillars rose from the ground, twisted and engraved with runes. The air grew heavier. Shadows deepened. The entire chamber morphed into a hellish temple.

The final orb on the magician lit up.

"Now that he has three Spell Counters, I tribute Skilled Red Magician!" Titan declared, as the magician dissolved into crimson light. "In exchange, I Special Summon an Archfiend monster from my hand, Deck, or Graveyard!"

He pulled a card from his deck and slammed it onto the field.

"Rise, Summoned Skull!!"

Lightning split the air above the altar. From it descended a skeletal fiend with veiny purple flesh and tattered wings crackling with dark electricity.

[Summoned Skull, 2500 ATK]

"Then I set three cards face-down and end my turn."

Three back-row cards shimmered into existence behind the demonic monster. Titan crossed his arms, smug confidence plastered across his face.

Although Summoned Skull is a decent monster with good ATK and is easy to summon, needing only one tribute.

But Yumi remembers there are more powerful effects Archfiend monsters that could be summoned out, yet this guy goes through all of that to summon a 2500 normal beat stick.

What a waste.

"My turn, draw!" Yumi and Celina said in unison as she slid the drawn card into her hand.

Celina glanced over the cards, and immediately frowned.

"What the hell is this deck?!" she snapped, slapping the six-card hand against Yumi's face.

Yumi casually peeled them away, unbothered. "Looks like a solid hand to me."

Celina groaned, pulling the cards back and looking again.

"Only you would call a hand full of spells 'solid.'" she muttered under her breath, just loud enough for Yumi to hear.

Still, she followed his lead.

"First, I activate the Quick-Play Spell-The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh!"

She placed the card into the Duel Disk, and a ripple of magic spread across the field.

"I can take a 'Kuriboh' monster, add it to my hand, or Special Summon it!"

The original spell could only let the player choose a Kuriboh or Winged Kuriboh, but Yumi has changed the card text to 'Kuriboh' monster. Which lets the card still function like how it originally worked, but it also makes the card more versatile with the other 'Kuriboh' monsters.

"I Special Summon, Kuriboh in Attack Position!"

A puffball of brown fur appeared on her field, floating with twitchy paws and a squeaky noise.

Everyone: "!!?"

[Kuriboh, 300 ATK]

"Kuriboh?" Syrus blinked. "Isn't that Yugi Muto's card?"

Chumley nodded. "Yeah, but… doesn't Kuriboh only work when discarded to block damage? Why summon it in Attack Position?"

Celina had the same question. But this was Yumi's deck; he had to know what he was doing.

"Next, I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Multiply!"

Kuriboh let out a high-pitched squeal and split into four more puffballs.

"Special Summon any number of copies of a monster I control with 500 or less ATK."

[Kuriboh, 300 ATK] x4

"Then, Equip Spell- Rainbow Blessing! I can equip it to a Kuriboh, then tribute it to let all my monsters attack directly this turn!"

One of the five Kuriboh sparkled and burst into radiant light, creating a shimmering rainbow path pointed straight at Titan.

"Next, Level Award! I change the Level of one monster to either 0 or 8!" Yumi said softly.

Celina nodded, following the lead. "I'll set one Kuriboh's Level to 5!"

One puffball suddenly grew larger.

"The pieces are falling into place. Let's finish this." He whispered, and she nodded.

"Got it."

She picked up the last two remaining cards and activated them.

"Quickplay spell, Detonate! Destroy any number of 'Kuriboh' monsters I control, then destroy cards you control based on the number of 'Kuriboh' monsters I destroyed!"

Another card that got altered by Yumi, keeping its effect mostly similar to the real-life version of Detonate. While changing the destroy as many to destroy any number, giving the player more options to choose from, instead of going all out.

Plus, the card originally worked with Kuriboh and Kuriboh Token, Yumi's change so the card now works with any "Kuriboh" monsters, making it way more reliable and versatile.

This card can now combo with even Winged Kuriboh, which have the effect of once it's destroyed, the player takes no battle damage until the end of the turn. Meaning upon activation, he could even pop one of his opponent's cards while giving himself another turn.

Three of the Kuriboh rushed toward Titan's field, each one leaping onto a face-down card and exploding in a puff of smoke and sparks. Destroying them.

"And finally, Spell card, Five Star Twilight. Tributing a Level 5 monster I control!"

The enlarged Kuriboh exploded into five shimmering stars.

"Then I can Special Summon the five Kuriboh brothers from my hand, deck, or grave!"

From her deck and graveyard, five balls of multicolored light soared out and formed five Kuriboh, but four of them had different fur colors.

[Kuriboh, 300 ATK]

[Kuribah, 300 ATK]

[Kuribee, 300 ATK]

[Kuribeh, 300 ATK]

[Kuriboo, 300 ATK]

The Five Kuriboh Brothers... Assemble!
