Last Chapter: Chapter 21

Yuma laughed again; his eyes wild. "It doesn't matter what you try, Kai. It doesn't matter how strong you think you are. You're standing in the shadow of inevitable destruction!"

He spread his arms wide, grinning like a madman. "Your dragons burn brightly, but my chaos is eternal! Let's see how you handle THIS!"

I gritted my teeth, my fists clenching as I stood beneath the colossal mechanical behemoth looming over me. Its enormous metallic body cast a suffocating shadow across the battlefield, its crimson core pulsing like a heartbeat of destruction. Every hum, every slight movement of its massive limbs sent shockwaves through the air, making the ground beneath me tremble.

For the first time in this duel… I truly felt the weight of what I was up against.

But even as the pressure bore down on me, even as the overwhelming presence of Chaos Dyson Sphere threatened to crush me—I refused to run scared.

I exhaled sharply, steeling myself.

I wasn't done yet. No matter what, I was going to walk out here the victor!

Chapter 22: That Secret Weapon!! Battle Of Destiny Part 3!!

Flashback

I stood alone in my room, the dim light casting long shadows across the walls. My fingers tightened around the cards in my hand, their weight heavier than usual. This was it. The moment I had been preparing for—the inevitable battle with Yuma Tsukumo.

Yet, despite my focus, my thoughts drifted back to my last conversation with Declan Akaba. His words echoed in my mind; their meaning was impossible to ignore.

"If we want any hope of defeating Duel Academy, we need the Xyz Duelists on our side."

I exhaled slowly, my grip on my deck firm. And to do that, I had to face Yuma.

Not just as an opponent.

But as the one thing standing between us… and the war ahead.

I stared at the cards once again in my hand. These were powerful dragons, that I hadn't planned on using until the battle against Duel Academy.

I stared down at the cards in my hand, their surfaces shimmering faintly under the dim light as if the power within them was waiting—watching. These were not ordinary monsters. Their presence was overwhelming, carrying a weight that even I could feel just by holding them.

I had kept them hidden, reserved for a battle far greater than this one. Duel Academy. That was when they were meant to be unleashed when their power would serve its true purpose.

And yet…

A lingering thought gnawed at me, refusing to be ignored.

Would this duel force my hand?

Would I be pushed to reveal them before their time? If I did, there was no turning back. The moment I played these cards, I wouldn't just be showing my strength—I'd be revealing my resolve.

I exhaled slowly, my grip tightening.

The question wasn't if I would need them.

It was when.

Flashback end

I sighed, my breath steady despite the colossal mechanical creature hovering above the stadium, its sheer presence suffocating. Its massive, metallic frame pulsed with an ominous red glow, circuits and energy conduits crackling like restrained lightning along its surface. The enormous crimson eye at its core shifted, scanning the battlefield with an eerie, calculating precision, as if it were a sentient force of destruction waiting for the command to strike.

Its sleek, curved plating gave it the appearance of an orbital war machine, built for one purpose—to dominate. Towering mechanical appendages extended from its sides, twitching slightly, primed for devastation. The low, constant hum of its energy field resonated through the air, distorting the space around it like a gravitational force bending reality itself.

Even from here, I could feel the sheer weight of its existence pressing down on me.

It wasn't just a monster.

It was a force of annihilation.

I looked at my monsters. Divine Dragon lord Felgrand, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon. All useless in terms of power. That just meant I had to bring an even stronger more broken monster.

"I activate Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon's effect from my hand. By shuffling it into my deck, I get to set Max Metalmorph directly to the field." I said as I set the card face down on the field. "Now with that, I end my turn."

"Very well, my turn!"

Control Room

"See that? Kai can't do anything in the face of Yuma's power!" The Chairwoman smirked, leaning back in her chair, her arms crossed as she basked in Yuma's overwhelming control of the duel.

Shay and Declan, however, could only exchange a glance before letting out a silent sweat drop at her blatant glazing.

Shay scoffed, shaking his head. "Tch. You're acting like this duel is already over."

Declan remained calm, his gaze still glued to the screen. "I wouldn't be so sure."

Shay raised an eyebrow. "You see something?"

Declan smirked slightly. "Kai just set Max Metalmorph. Once that activates, he can summon Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon, and that means next turn, he'll have an even stronger monster on the field."

Shay's eyes narrowed as he studied the screen, and his expression shifted. "Hmph… so that's what he's doing."

The Chairwoman's smirk faltered slightly as she turned back to the duel, only now realizing the trap Kai had laid out.

Declan folded his hands in front of him, his voice steady. "Kai has set himself up beautifully for his next turn. The real fight hasn't even started yet."

"He just has to survive until then." Shay crossed his arms, watching intently. "Still, that won't be easy with Yuma's Chaos Dyson Sphere on the field. It doesn't matter how many attacks points it has, it will still be swallowed up." This got Declan interested.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You'll soon find out."

Turn 7

Kai

Hand: 0

Yuma

Hand: 5

LP: 4600

"I activate the effect of my Astral Kuriboh from my hand. By revealing my Rank 8 Lancelot, Dark Knight of the Underworld, I can now summon it with the same level of its rank. Appear Astral Kuriboh!"

Astral Kuriboh LV8 (ATK 100/DEF 100)

"Now I summon Gagaga Magician! And use its effect to turn it into a level 8 as well."

Gagaga Magician LV8 (ATK 1500/DEF 1000)

"Tch. You're going to xyz summon again?" I asked with annoyance.

"Well, well… looks like we've got a clever one here," Yuma smirked, his eyes gleaming with twisted amusement. "Too bad it won't matter in the end—because I'm still going to card you."

He spread his arms dramatically, his Duel Disk flaring with dark energy. "You've already caught a glimpse of him a few seconds ago… but I don't think you two have been properly introduced. I overlay Level 8 Gagaga Magician and Level 8 Astral Kuriboh, to once again build the overlay network!"

The air around him grew heavy, a chilling aura radiating as a swirling vortex of shadows began to form on his field.

"Allow me to introduce you to the Protector of Purgatory! The relentless enforcer of the underworld! Rise—Number 23: Lancelot, Dark Knight of the Underworld!"

Number 23 Lancelot, Dark Knight of the Underworld Rank 8 (ATK 2000/DEF 1500)

A piercing metallic screech echoed through the battlefield as a dark-armored knight emerged from the abyss, its tattered cape flowing like mist, its glowing crimson eyes piercing through the darkness. The ethereal steed beneath it let out a hollow, ghostly wail as it stomped onto the field, the ground beneath it cracking apart with each step.

Yuma's smirk widened. "Hope you're ready, Kai—because this knight doesn't just serve the underworld… he rules it."

I stared at the monster in awe, its dark presence sending a shiver down my spine. Its armored form gleamed with an eerie glow, the tattered cape billowing like a shadow given life. Once again, I was reminded of just how overwhelming Yuma's power had become.

"I've never seen someone Xyz Summon so many different monsters in one duel before…" I muttered under my breath, the words coming out a little more respectful than intended.

Yuma let out a low chuckle, his smirk widening as he casually raised a hand over his Duel Disk. "Heh. That's because you've never faced someone like me before."

Without hesitation, he pointed directly at me, his voice brimming with confidence.

"And since you're so impressed, let me give you an even closer look! But first, I activate the spell card Oni-Gami-Combo, By detaching all the xyz materials on my Chaos Dyson Sphere, It can attack twice this turn." Said Yuma with a smirk. "Now to fulfil what I just promised, I activate Number 23: Lancelot, Dark Knight of the Underworld's effect! Since it has an Xyz Material, it can attack you directly!"

Lancelot's crimson eyes flashed, and in an instant, it dashed forward with impossible speed—a streak of black and red cutting across the battlefield like a phantom executioner.

I barely had time to react before a cold, piercing force slammed into my chest, the impact sending a powerful shockwave through my entire body.

Kai LP: 2100

Yuma laughed, his expression wild with exhilaration. "What's wrong, Kai? You wanted to see what I was capable of. So don't look away—because I promise you, the worst is yet to come!"

His eyes gleamed as he thrust his hand forward. "I activate Lancelot, Dark Knight of the Underworld's effect! When it deals damage, I can target one monster you control and destroy it!"

Lancelot's red eyes burned brighter, its armored gauntlet slowly rising as a surge of dark energy coiled around its sword. The ominous force crackled violently, tendrils of shadow lashing out like chains, seeking to ensnare my Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon.

The cursed knight let out a distorted, hollow war cry as it swung its blade forward—aiming straight for Dragoon.

But the moment the dark energy reached Dragoon's form—

Nothing happened.

The black tendrils disintegrated upon contact, fading into harmless wisps of shadow. Lancelot's sword struck thin air, unable to land even a scratch on my monster.

Yuma's confident smirk twitched. "What—?"

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Yeah, that's not going to work, Yuma."

His eyes snapped to me, frustration creeping into his face.

I smirked, crossing my arms. "You should really read your opponent's cards more carefully. Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon is unaffected by card effects."

Dragoon stood its ground, its burning crimson gaze locked onto Lancelot, completely unfazed by the attack. The very air around it seemed to pulse with sheer invincibility, its armored form radiating an aura of untouchable dominance.

Yuma clicked his tongue, his hands balling into fists. "Tch… You're really starting to piss me off, Kai."

I chuckled again, my smirk widening. "Good. That means I'm doing something right." I then noticed an action card beside me. Grabbing it, I smirked. 'For insurance.'

"I activate my Trap Card—Max Metalmorph!"

A surge of silver energy erupted around my field, wrapping around Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon-like liquid steel, its body beginning to pulse with a strange, mechanical transformation.

"With this, I can Tribute any Level 5 or higher Dragon monster on my field to summon a new force of destruction from my Deck!"

But before my trap could fully activate, Yuma scoffed, raising a hand over his Duel Disk. "Sorry, but I don't think so!"

I narrowed my eyes as he thrust his arm forward. "I detach an Xyz Material from Lancelot, Dark Knight of the Underworld to activate its special ability—your trap is negated!"

Lancelot's burning red eyes flashed, and an ominous wave of dark energy pulsed outward, aiming straight for Max Metalmorph. The power surrounding my trap began to waver, its glow flickering, its activation incomplete.

Yuma smirked, crossing his arms, completely confident in his move. But then…

He saw my expression.

I was smiling.

Yuma's smirk twitched. "Huh?"

"Sorry to disappoint you, but I already expected that."

His eyes widened. "What?!"

I raised my hand, flipping over a card in my grip. "I activate Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon's special ability! By sending this Action Card from my hand to the graveyard, I can negate your monster's effect and destroy it!"

Dragoon's glowing crimson eyes flared, as an intense wave of dark energy erupted from its form, crashing into Lancelot's interference! The opposing power was instantly overwhelmed, shattered into useless wisps of shadow before it could reach my trap.

Yuma gritted his teeth, stepping back slightly. "Tch—seriously?! So that's why you grabbed that action spell."

I smirked, shaking my head. "What's wrong, Yuma? You're acting like you didn't see that coming. I guess I'm the one that's one step ahead of you now."

Yuma clicked his tongue, fists tightening.

I turned my attention back to my field, the energy of Max Metalmorph restabilizing, stronger than ever.

"Now then, where were we?" I pointed at Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, my voice rising with confidence.

I pointed at Darkness Metal Dragon, my voice rising with confidence. "Ah yes, I Tribute Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon—to unlock its true, maximum potential!"

The moment my words rang out, Darkness Metal Dragon let out a deafening roar before its body was completely encased in glowing, molten metal. Sparks erupted as its form melted down, its energy condensing into a single, pulsating core of raw power. The transformation wasn't just a rebirth—it was an evolution.

The ground trembled. Neon signs flickered wildly across Neo Heartland City. The air crackled as the core of metal began to shift, forming into something bigger, something stronger, something unstoppable.

Then, with a thunderous explosion, the metal shattered outward revealing the unstoppable force within!

"Rise from the forge of ultimate power!" I roared, throwing my arms out. "I summon—Red-Eyes Fullmetal Dragon!!"

Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon LV8 (ATK 3400/DEF 2400)

From the glowing remains of its transformation, a new beast emerged. Its armored body gleamed like polished obsidian, thick metal plating covering its once-scaled form, enhanced beyond its original strength. Steam hissed from its reinforced wings as they snapped open, their edges sharpened like blades. Its red eyes burned hotter than ever, its claws glinting like tempered steel, ready to carve through anything in its path.

"Don't think that's it though. Since I summoned it, I can equip Max Metalmorph to it, boosting its power by 400!"

"That was smart," Declan smirked, his sharp eyes still fixed on the screen.

His words caught the attention of both his mother and sister, who turned to him with confused expressions. Even Shay, who had been silently observing the duel, furrowed his brows slightly.

The Chairwoman scoffed, crossing her arms. "What's so smart about barely surviving?"

Declan sighed, leaning back slightly as he began explaining. "Kai knows exactly what kind of duelist Yuma is. Up until now, Yuma has been one step ahead—countering everything Kai throws at him. Kai figured that sooner or later, Yuma would have some way to negate his plays, so he set a trap of his own."

Shay narrowed his eyes. "Wait… Are you saying Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon was bait?"

Declan nodded. "Exactly. He didn't just summon it for power—he wanted to force Yuma to reveal his negation. That's why he made sure to pick up that Action Card earlier. He knew that if he played his trap, Yuma would try to shut it down. And the moment he did, Kai would already have a way to counter it."

The realization dawned on Shay as he turned back to the screen, his arms tightening across his chest. "So that's why he looked so damn confident even when Yuma activated Lancelot…"

The Chairwoman frowned, her smirk faltering slightly. "Hmph. Clever… but it won't matter if Yuma still comes out on top."

Declan merely smirked again, his fingers steepling in front of him. "That depends. Because not only does Kai have a monster stronger than Dyson Sphere, he also has another negate to anything Kai tries to activate as well."

He looked back to the screen.

"Whatever happens now, I up to him"

Arena

Yuma scoffed, rolling his shoulders as he pointed straight at me. "So, you've got another strong monster on the field—so what?! It's not going to save you! Because you have no protection from what happens next!"

He thrust his arm forward, his voice booming with excitement. "I attack Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand with Chaos Dyson Sphere!"

The massive mechanical titan rumbled, its enormous crimson core pulsing violently, sending out waves of gravitational force that warped the very air around it. Its enormous metal limbs adjusted, locking onto Felgrand with an unstoppable targeting system, as if reality itself had deemed my dragon unworthy to remain on the field.

I gritted my teeth, bracing myself for impact—but then, the entire battlefield shifted.

The moment Chaos Dyson Sphere began its attack, its glowing circuits intensified, and a sudden, invisible force wrapped around Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand.

My eyes widened. "What—?!"

Yuma grinned, his duel disk flaring with power. "Unfortunately for you Kai, before damage is calculated, I can activate Chaos Dyson Sphere's effect!"

The gravitational pull around the battlefield amplified, the air around Felgrand distorting as an unseen force yanked it upward. Felgrand let out a defiant roar, but it was no use—it was being dragged straight toward Chaos Dyson Sphere!

Yuma's eyes burned with intensity as he declared, "Once per turn, before Dyson Sphere attacks, I can take one of your monsters and attach it to my beast as an Xyz Material! And guess what, Kai? That means Felgrand's effect is negated!"

Felgrand vanished into a swirl of crimson energy, pulled into the centre of Chaos Dyson Sphere's core, its struggling form turning into pure light before locking into place as an Xyz Material!

"So that's why you detached all your materials. You already knew you would get another xyz material from this battle." I said, in awe at Yuma's combat ability. "Heh." I suddenly chuckled under my breath, shaking my head.

Yuma's grin faltered for a split second before frustration took over. "What's so funny?!" he snapped, eyes burning with irritation.

I slowly lifted my gaze to meet his, smirking. "I just find it funny how you still think you're ahead…" I took a step forward, the confidence in my voice unwavering. "When in reality, everything is going exactly according to plan."

Yuma's expression twisted in disbelief.

Control Room

A heavy silence filled the control room as the latest exchange unfolded on the screen. The tension was palpable—the weight of every move pressing down on the air like an unseen force.

One of the operators gulped, his fingers hesitating over his keyboard. "Is… is this really going according to Kai's plan?"

Another operator shook his head, his eyes locked onto the screen. "I don't know… but he doesn't look shaken at all. He still has that smirk on his face."

The Chairwoman's eyes narrowed, her previous smugness now replaced with careful observation.

"So, what if it's part of his plan?" she scoffed, arms crossed. "It doesn't change the fact that Yuma still has the strongest monster on the field. And that boy can't keep pulling miracles forever."

Declan, however, didn't seem so sure. He remained perfectly still, his gaze sharp as he analysed every detail of the duel.

Shay, standing beside him, clenched his fists. "Damn it… Kai's up to something, I know it." His voice was low, but there was an unmistakable intensity in it.

Declan finally spoke, his voice calm but unwavering. "If Kai says everything is going according to plan, then that means he still has something left to play."

The Chairwoman scoffed. "He has no hand cards, no set spells or traps left, and even his strongest monster Chaos Dyson Sphere. What exactly do you think he has left?"

Declan smirked. "That's what I'm looking forward to finding out."

Shay exhaled sharply, arms still crossed. "If he's got a trick up his sleeve, he better play it soon. Because if he's wrong, then this duel is already over."

Arena

Yuma's smirk suddenly vanished, his expression twisting into one of pure irritation. His eyes burned with frustration, his patience completely worn thin.

"Tch… Who cares if everything is going according to your so-called plan!?" he snapped, his voice dripping with venom. "I'm ending this—right now!"

He thrust his arm forward, his Duel Disk flaring with chaotic energy as the battlefield shook violently in response.

"Chaos Dyson Sphere—" Yuma's voice rang out like a war cry, his rage boiling over. "Annihilate Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon! Cosmic Cataclysm!"

The enormous war machine trembled, its core flashing with blinding crimson light, its entire metallic body humming with raw planetary-level energy. The sky above distorted, warping under the sheer gravitational force being unleashed.

Then—BOOM!

A monstrous beam of energy erupted from Dyson Sphere's core, spiralling downward in a catastrophic torrent of destruction, aiming straight for Dragoon! The battlefield cracked apart beneath the sheer weight of its force, the cityscape around them trembling under the impact of its presence.

Kai LP: 1400

The sheer force of the blast sent me hurtling backward, the impact crackling across my duel disk as my body skidded across the battlefield. My vision blurred for a moment, the overwhelming gravitational energy from Dyson Sphere still pressing down on me.

But Yuma wasn't finished.

"Let's see you plan your way out of this, Kai!" he growled, his Duel Disk flaring with power. "I activate Chaos Dyson Sphere's special ability! You take 300 points of damage for each Xyz Material it has!"

The air around Dyson Sphere distorted violently, waves of crushing pressure rippling outward as its core pulsed ominously. A hellish purple energy beam began to form in front of it, swirling with chaotic force before suddenly splitting apart—fragmenting into countless orbs of destruction!

The energy spheres crackled with unstable, burning intensity as they launched forward, raining down toward me like a meteor shower of annihilation.

Still reeling from the last attack, I gritted my teeth, twisting my body midair before slamming my feet into the ground, skidding to a stop. My arms shot up in defense, my eyes burning with defiance.

"Not so fast, Yuma!" I roared, thrusting my hand forward. "I activate Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon's special ability—to negate your effect!"

A pulse of black steel energy erupted from my side of the field as Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon let out a deafening roar. The metallic sheen of its body glowed fiercely, absorbing the scattered hellfire of Dyson Sphere's attack. One by one, the energy spheres dissolved into nothingness, unable to pierce through the unstoppable force of my dragon's protection.

Yuma's eyes widened slightly, his teeth gritting in frustration.

I wiped my mouth, exhaling sharply. "Nice try, but you're not burning me down that easily."

My smirk returned, my confidence completely unshaken.

Sakaki house

Everyone sighed in relief as they watched Kai save himself again.

Gong sighed heavily; arms still crossed but visibly relieved. "Phew… Gong thought for sure that was it." His usual composed demeanour had been tested, and even he couldn't deny the insane tension in the air.

Yuya let out a breath he didn't even realize he was holding, his hands gripping the edge of the table. "I know what you mean, that was way too close… It would've been over right there if he didn't have that effect."

"How does he even keep pulling through?" Yuzu muttered in disbelief. Her fingers clenched against her shirt, still shaken by the sheer destruction that almost ended the duel.

"Kai's not going to be able to keep this up forever. He's got to start fighting back soon."

Yoko exhaled deeply, her hands trembling slightly. "That boy is going to give me a heart attack…" she muttered, shaking her head. But behind her worry, there was something else, pride. He was still standing. Still fighting. "You better have something big planned, Kai."

Arena

Yuma grumbled in annoyance, his fingers tightening around his remaining cards as he glared at the field. He should have been in complete control—his Chaos Dyson Sphere was still towering over everything, and Kai had barely managed to survive the last attack.

And yet…

Something felt off.

His grip on his Duel Disk tensed as an uneasy sensation crept up his spine. It wasn't fear—no, it was something else. A gut feeling, a duelist's instinct screaming at him that something was coming.

Something big.

Something he wouldn't be able to stop from appearing.

Yuma clenched his teeth, shaking the thought away. "Tch… What the hell am I thinking?" He had Chaos Number 9 on his side, the most unstoppable monster in the duel.

And yet… deep down, he felt like a part of him knew.

Kai wasn't just going to push back.

He was going to hit back with double the force.

"Tch, I equip the monster ZW – Sylphid wing to my Chaos number 9: Chaos Dyson Sphere. With it, it gains an extra 800 attack points!"

Number C9: Chaos Dyson Sphere Rank 10 (ATK 4400/DEF 3200)

"Your move."

"Finally," I said as I looked down at my deck. 'There is only one monster that I can summon to take that monster down. But I am going to have to draw the right cards to do so.'

I closed my hands as a memory appeared in my mind.

Flashback

Kai stood across from Yugi, his breath heavy, his mind racing. The duel between them had been fierce, every move met with a counter, every strategy pushed to its limit. And yet, no matter how dire things looked, Yugi had always found a way forward.

Another perfect draw. Another game-changing move. It was almost unnatural.

Kai finally voiced the thought that had been lingering in his mind.

"How? How do you always pull exactly what you need?" His voice was laced with both frustration and curiosity. "It's like the deck itself listens to you."

Yugi smiled—a calm, knowing smile. "That's because it does."

Kai blinked. "What?"

Yugi stepped forward, placing a hand on his deck, his expression serene yet resolute. "A duel isn't just about strategy, calculations, or even skill. Those things matter, yes, but they aren't everything."

He looked Kai in the eyes, his voice unwavering.

"It's about belief."

Kai furrowed his brows, but Yugi continued before he could question it.

"Every time I draw, I don't just hope for the right card—I know it will come. I trust in my deck, just as it trusts in me. It's not luck, Kai—it's the bond between a duelist and their cards."

Kai scoffed slightly, folding his arms. "So, you're saying if I just believe, my deck will magically give me the exact card I need?"

Yugi chuckled softly. "Not magic, Kai. Trust." He gestured toward Kai's deck. "If you hesitate, if you doubt yourself—even for a second—your deck will feel it. But if you stand firm, if you truly believe that your deck will answer you… then it will."

Kai looked down at his own cards, Yugi's words sinking in.

"Trust in my deck…?"

Yugi nodded. "In the heat of battle, when everything is stacked against you, when all logic says you should lose—that is when you must believe the most. If you can do that, Kai, then your deck will never fail you."

Flashback end

I snapped open my eyes, drawing my card as I shouted

"I believe!!"

Turn 8

Kai

Hand: 1

LP: 1400

Yuma

Hand: 1

LP: 4600

"I activate the Spell Card—Card of Demise!" I declared, slamming the card onto my Duel Disk. A surge of energy rippled across the field as a golden glow surrounded my deck. "This allows me to draw 5 cards—but at the end of the turn, I have to discard everything left in my hand."

Yuma scoffed, his arms crossed as he shook his head. "Tch. So, you're relying on luck now? Face it, Kai—you've got nothing left." His smirk widened with confidence. "Just accept your defeat."

I lifted my gaze, my expression dead serious. "That's where you're wrong, Yuma."

Yuma blinked, taken aback by the absolute certainty in my voice.

I placed my fingers on my deck, gripping the top card tightly. "I'm not relying on luck—I'm relying on my deck!"

"DRAW!"

I pulled my five cards, my eyes scanning them swiftly. And as I did… a satisfied smirk slowly spread across my face.

Yuma's expression shifted, his confidence wavering. "What…?"

I raised my first card high. "And my deck has rewarded me! First, I activate the Spell Card—Monster Reborn!"

A pillar of radiant energy erupted onto my field, its light cutting through the battlefield's tension.

"With this, I bring back Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon!"

Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon LV10 (ATK 2800/DEF 2400)

A mighty roar echoed as Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon emerged from the light, its metallic wings unfurling, its body radiating overwhelming dark energy.

Yuma clenched his fists. "Tch… That again?!"

I wasn't done. I pointed forward, my voice booming. "Now, I activate its effect! Once per turn, I can Special Summon a Dragon from my hand or Graveyard!"

Another card flared to life in my hand, and I slammed it down with force. "From the boundaries of light and darkness itself, a force that exists between two realms descends!"

A cyclone of opposing energies—one side blinding light, the other pure shadow—swirled onto the field, twisting and crackling as a mighty dragon took shape.

"Come forth—Light and Darkness Dragon!"

Light and Darkness Dragon LV8 (ATK 2800/DEF 2400)

Yuma's eyes widened, the golden and dark vortex reflecting in them as the two-toned dragon appeared, its majestic yet ominous presence looming over the battlefield.

But I wasn't done yet.

I held up another card, my smirk deepening. "And now, I activate the special ability of Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon from my hand!"

The ground beneath me trembled, a deep rumbling growing louder.

"By sending Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon from my deck to the graveyard, I can unleash it for the world to see!"

A massive fiery explosion erupted from my field as a meteor-like object crashed down, cracking open to reveal a towering, flame-coated dragon, its obsidian scales burning with an intense red glow.

I raised my hand, the flames reflecting in my eyes.

"Arise—Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon!"

Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon LV6 (ATK 2000/DEF 2000)

The dragon let out a thunderous roar, sending heatwaves across the battlefield. The once one-sided duel had completely changed in an instant.

Yuma gritted his teeth, his confidence shaking for the first time.

I looked down at the monster card in my hand. A card that reminded me of my friendship with a certain powerful duelist. 'The stage is set'

I took a deep breath, my smirk never fading as I raised my hand over my Duel Disk. "Sadly, for you, Yuma, Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon aren't here to stay."

Yuma furrowed his brows, watching cautiously as the two dragons on my field roared one last time, their bodies glowing with a fierce, blinding red light.

I thrust my arm forward, my voice filled with unwavering confidence.

"I tribute these two monsters in order to call forth a dragon whose power eclipses the stars themselves—a beast that burns with the savagery of a supernova!"

The battlefield trembled violently, and above us, the night sky began to distort, as if the very fabric of space was warping from the sheer force of what was coming.

The fiery remains of Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon shot upward, spiraling into a swirling vortex of pure cosmic energy. A massive burst of starlight erupted from its centre, illuminating the battlefield with an intense, celestial glow.

I spread my arms wide, my voice echoing across the arena.

"When the very cosmos trembles, a new power is born! Take flight, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon LV8 (ATK 3000/DEF 2500)

A blinding beam of blue and white light shot down from the heavens, splitting the battlefield in two as a towering, radiant dragon descended from above!

Its massive, luminous wings spread wide, its body pulsing with pure photonic energy, and its piercing blue eyes locked onto Yuma's field with overwhelming intensity.

Yuma's eyes widened as he took a step back, the sheer pressure of its presence crashing down on him. "That's—!"

I clenched my fist, my confidence at its peak.

I could feel the adrenaline surging through my veins, my heart pounding in rhythm with the power radiating from my field. My smirk widened as I locked eyes with Yuma, determination burning in my gaze.

"You think I'm done?" I asked, my voice brimming with confidence.

Yuma's expression stiffened, his fists tightening.

I thrust my arm forward, my voice booming across the battlefield.

"I overlay my three Level 8 monsters—Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, Light and Darkness Dragon, and Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon! With these, I build the overlay network!"

The entire battlefield shook violently as my three dragons rose into the air, their bodies turning into swirling streams of radiant energy. The sky above us cracked apart, revealing a vast cosmic gateway, its spiralling core pulsating with unimaginable power.

A gravitational force unlike anything before pulled everything toward it, the air growing dense with pure, unrestrained energy.

I raised my hand high, my voice roaring with absolute resolve.

"When the stars are extinguished, a new supernova shall illuminate the cosmos! Descend now—Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"

Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon LV8 (ATK 4500/DEF 3000)

A colossal burst of light erupted from the vortex, splitting the heavens apart as a titanic form emerged.

A dragon of unparalleled majesty took shape, its wings stretching across the battlefield like radiant galaxies, its armor gleaming with the brilliance of a dying star reborn! Three Orbiting Overlay Units spun around its body, each one crackling with cosmic energy.

Its piercing blue eyes locked onto Yuma's massive mechanical monster. Both exuding pressures forming a clash in the middle.

Sakaki house

The entire living room of the Sakaki household was dead silent, the tension in the air so thick it was suffocating.

Yuya's hands gripped the edge of the table, his heart pounding in his chest. His eyes were wide with disbelief, his voice barely more than a whisper. "He… he still had another dragon of such power hiding away in his deck…!! Incredible!"

A part of him had expected something big, but this? This was on another level.

He could feel goosebumps rising on his skin as Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon spread its colossal wings across the battlefield.

Yuzu clamped her hands over her mouth, her eyes locked onto the screen, barely able to process what she was seeing.

"Just how strong is Kai!?"

Gong crossed his arms, but his usual steady demeanour was visibly shaken.

"Gong don't know" His voice was low, filled with pure awe and disbelief. "Gong's seen many duels… but nothing like this."

Yoko, who had been watching in silent worry, finally let out a breath she had been holding. But even as relief set in, she couldn't ignore the fear creeping in the back of her mind.

He had witnessed Kai struggle, counter, survive— but now, this wasn't just a comeback.

This was an all-out declaration of power.

Just how strong was Kai's deck?

Control Room

Everyone was looking in awe at the new monster Kai had summoned. Throughout this whole duel, they had witnessed monsters far surpassing even the top pro duelists in their dimension.

The one most surprised was Declan. "It seems Kai had been holding back during our last duel." Declan clenched his fists. "And to think there are monsters even stronger than these two duelists out there. I must get better."

Suddenly, a loud slam echoed through the control room.

Shay had slammed his fists onto the table, his body tensed with anger as his eyes burned with rage. His breath was heavy, his gaze locked onto the screen, staring daggers at Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon.

"What the hell is Kai doing with Kite's monsters?!" he snarled, his voice dripping with frustration.

This shocked everyone around him. Even Declan turned his attention to Shay.

"What!"

Arena

I smiled at my monster, this was going to help me take down that Dyson Sphere. I looked towards Yuma, preparing to continue my turn.

However,

Yuma's body trembled, his fists clenched so tightly that his nails dug into his palms. His head was bowed, his wild hair casting shadows over his face.

"How… did you get it?" His voice was barely a whisper.

"Huh?"

Yuma's head snapped up, his eyes burning with fury.

"HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET KITE'S DRAGON, YOU DAMN MONSTER?!" he roared, his entire body radiating rage.

I took a step back, stunned. "Wait—you know Kite?" I asked, but then realization hit me like a freight train. 'Of course, he'd know Kite. They're from the same dimension.'

Seeing the sheer fury in Yuma's expression, I quickly raised my hands in defense. "Hold on! I know what you're thinking but just listen—Kite gave me these dragons! I didn't steal them, alr-"

"Liar!" Yuma cut me off, his voice shaking with raw emotion. "You probably stole it when you attacked the Xyz Dimension—just like your friends stole mine! Don't even try to deny it!"

Stole his monster? What monsters?

I shook my head. "Look, I already told you—I didn't steal Kite's monster. He gave it to me as a sign of our friendship. But if you won't believe me…" My eyes narrowed as I raised my Duel Disk. "Then I'll just have to beat the truth into you!"

I thrust my hand forward. "I activate Neo Galaxy-Eyes' special ability! By detaching the last Overlay Unit from Chaos Dyson Sphere, my monster absorbs its power—and gains 500 Attack Points!

I smirked, thrusting my hand forward as the power of my ultimate dragon surged through the battlefield. The very air trembled beneath its cosmic radiance, its three orbiting Overlay Units crackling with limitless energy.

"Now, Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon—attack and destroy with Supernova Photon Stream!"

A colossal burst of energy erupted from Neo Galaxy-Eyes' core, spiralling outward into a devastating beam of celestial destruction.

Angrily Yuma shouted. "I activate Chaos Dyson Sphere special abili-"

"Don't even try it. Galaxy-Eyes has already negated your monster's effect when it entered the battlefield. Nothing can stop its path to destruction!"

"Shit… I forgot."

That was the only thought running through Yuma's mind as Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon's attack came barrelling toward his field.

Then—

BOOM!

The attack struck with devastating force, engulfing his monster in a blinding explosion. The sheer impact sent massive shockwaves tearing through the battlefield, causing the very ground to crack beneath their feet.

Yuma gritted his teeth, bracing himself against the force as sparks erupted from his Duel Disk, his entire field consumed by the sheer cosmic devastation of the blast.

I smirked. "I hope that knocked some sense into you. I set my last card and end my turn."

The atmosphere suddenly shifted. My chill went down my spine as I watched Yuma calmly stand up from the ground.

He lifted his eyes.

"You!"

His eyes were dark, full of rage.

"I am going to end you!" He stated. His voice was low, but there was something off about it.

Something that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
