Chapter 27: Fast Enough (and the Sacrifice of the Heart)

The air in S.T.A.R. Labs crackled with a terrifying energy. This was it. The final confrontation with Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash. And Adam knew what was coming. Eddie Thawne's sacrifice. The singularity. His stomach churned with a mixture of dread and helplessness.

"So, just to recap," Adam muttered, pacing nervously, "we're fighting a time-traveling speedster who stole a face, and the only way to stop him might involve… well, a paradox. And a very sad, very heroic death. Because, you know, happy endings are for suckers. And Marvel movies." His attempts at humor felt hollow, even to him.

Jisoo, her face uncharacteristically somber, gently squeezed Iris's hand. She sensed the immense emotional weight of the day, the impending loss. Her "Temporal Echoes" were a dull throb, a premonition of tragedy. She was fiercely protective of Eddie, who stood resolute, ready to make the ultimate choice.

As the battle raged, and Wells/Thawne offered Barry the chance to go back and save his mother, Adam's mind raced. "No, Barry, don't do it! Flashpoint is a nightmare! But… Eddie. How do I save Eddie? System, Major Wish: 'Revive Eddie Thawne.' Cost: All the days! Everything I have!"

[SYSTEM MESSAGE]: Wish 'Revive Eddie Thawne' Rejected. Reason: Temporal Nexus Point. Interference impossible without catastrophic timeline collapse. No Wish Cost.

Adam slammed his fist on a table, a frustrated groan escaping his lips. "Of course. The universe just loves its tragic heroes. And its rules. Stupid, stupid rules."

Then, it happened. Eddie, with a heartbreaking smile, shot himself, erasing Eobard Thawne from existence. A blinding light, a ripple in reality, and then… the singularity. A massive, swirling vortex of destruction tearing open over Central City.

Adam was caught in the initial blast, thrown backwards. He braced for impact, but then…

[SYSTEM MESSAGE]: Chaotic Savior Activated. Wish: Rubber Chicken Singularity. Host survival probability: 99.9%. Cost: 100 Days. Current Wish Balance: 146 Days. Host's frustration: Beyond words.

A small, harmless, but incredibly loud, rubber chicken suddenly appeared in Adam's hand and was immediately sucked into the singularity, letting out a comical SQUAWK! as it vanished. Barry, Firestorm, and the others, fighting to contain the collapsing reality, paused for a split second, bewildered by the absurd sound.

"A rubber chicken?" Cisco yelled over the roar of the singularity.

Adam, covered in dust and despair, just groaned. "Seriously, System? My friend just died, the world is ending, and you save me with a rubber chicken? You have a sick sense of humor."

As the singularity grew, threatening to consume everything, Jisoo's eyes blazed with a fierce, majestic light. A crown of pure energy solidified around her head. She extended her hands, and a shimmering, powerful magical barrier erupted, pushing back against the singularity, buying Barry and Firestorm precious time to close it. As she exerted her power, a mournful, haunting BLACKPINK song, filled with sorrow and determination, echoed through the city, a silent tribute to Eddie's sacrifice.

The singularity finally closed, leaving behind a stunned, grieving city. Adam, emotionally drained, watched Jisoo, who collapsed into his arms, exhausted but resolute. "We saved the world. But we lost a good man. And I'm in debt again. The Arrowverse really knows how to end a season."
