Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 19: Chapter 19 : Intervention

Chapter 19 : Intervention

Nash observed Eileen and Hawkeye for a couple of seconds.

'These are her former teammates,' he accurately deduced.

Nash then proceeded to examine Hawkeye. 'He's a swordsman.'

Nevertheless, Nash was surprised at how furious Eileen had gotten just from seeing Hawkeye.

He did not believe that the ever calm and smiling Eileen could lash out at someone.

Hawkeye scratched the back of his head and chuckled sheepishly. "Come on, now. How can you be so mean to your former teammates?"

He took two steps forward. "We are even classmates outside of here. The game doesn't really matter, you know. Don't burn bridges over silly things."

Eileen was indeed overreacting considering that she was kicked out for a valid reason.

Hawkeye, on the other hand, was not happy that she was trying to play the victim despite how much he tried to help her.

At least that was how the swordsman saw the situation.

Eileen scoffed.

Hawkeye then shifted his attention to Nash, staring at him for a little bit.

"Who's this guy?" he asked. "He's my replacement?"

"Who he is has nothing to do with you! Let me be!" Eileen snapped. "You are just so full of yourself, Greg!"

Nash blinked a few times. This atmosphere was getting intense and this side of Eileen was indeed taking him by surprise.

"Now, now. Let's stick with calling me Hawkeye, my dear Eileen."

"Tch!" Eileen crossed her arms over her chest and turned away.

Hawkeye was too full of himself at this point.

As much as Eileen understood that she had wronged the group and accepted their punishment of her exit, she also wanted nothing from them any longer.

Eileen was frustrated because Hawkeye could not just accept the fact that she didn't like him as much as he did her.

There was really no big deal in that but he was starting to make it seem like there was.

Seeing Eileen's expression, Hawkeye could feel the irritation that oozed from her body. It was palpable.

'This bitch,' Hawkeye cursed Eileen in his mind. 'After everything I've done for you. I was nice to a noob like you and accepted you into my group even when no one else wanted you.'

Hawkeye ground his teeth bitterly and tightening his fists. 'So I was nice to you for no reason. We will see about that."

Hawkeye then shifted all of his attention away from Eileen and transferred everything to Nash.

"You…" Hawkeye said, looking for where he could offload all his anger as he took a few steps closer to Nash.

"Stay away from this," Hawkeye added. "I want to talk to my ex."

Eileen snapped, shooting Hawkeye an icy cold stare.

However, she said nothing.

She wanted to see if Hawkeye was serious about what he had said.

Eileen watched for him to repeat himself but Hawkeye did not. At least not until Nash made him to.

"Your ex?" Nash repeated with a chuckle, quickly moving his eyes between Hawkeye and Eileen.

"I thought you'll have to date someone to them an ex," Nash continued, pouring fuel on top of the fire he was preparing.

Nash knew that Hawkeye wanted to look down on Eileen by tagging her as an ex and at the same time, being cocky about it.

Following Nash's quick and witty response, Hawkeye almost ruptured an artery in anger.

"Come on, man. Take it from me," Nash placed his hand on his own chest and began to advise Hawkeye.

"Liking someone who doesn't like you back is the very worst."

As if trying to provide Hawkeye even more, he put his arm around Eileen's shoulder.

Eileen was shocked and her face blushed as soon as she realised that it was Nash.

Her heart started to beat loudly and fast. The more this happened, the more embarrassed Eileen got.

Hawkeye was fuming. If he could kill Nash with just his eyes, he would have done it seconds ago.

Angrily, Hawkeye reached for the handle of his sword.

"Get your hands off her, you filthy animal," he warned, ready to draw his weapon.

Nash glanced at his hand and then at him, scoffing.

"And if I don't?" he provoked the swordsman further.

"Nash… Neon," Eileen called while quickly correcting herself.

Nash looked her way.

"Stop," she said, her voice seeming to beg him to not provoke Hawkeye anymore.

Noting the worried look on her face, Nash also felt that he had gone too far with teasing Hawkeye and nodded, agreeing to stop.

Eileen was happy that Nash stood up for her without being afraid, even when he didn't know who Hawkeye was or what he was capable of doing.

While she didn't mind or care even one bit what Hawkeye thought about the two of them, she was concerned.

Eileen was being careful, because she knew the kind of personality Hawkeye had.

The swordsman was a vengeful one.

She couldn't put it beyond him to carry their present issue from the game into the real world, only to cause trouble for everybody involved.

"It's fine," Nash replied to Eileen as he withdrew his arm from her shoulder.

Since he was reborn, Nash developed a feeling of disgust and hate towards pompous brats like Zebadiah and Hawkeye as they feel they can always have their ways with anyone or anything.

This time around, he was afraid of going up to them.

If anyone wanted a fight, he was more than ready to do so.

Eileen then proceeded to hold Nash's hand. "Let's leave this place."

Nash turned to go with her, heading to the entrance of the dungeon, when he halted and turned back.

"This isn't beauty and the beast," he retorted.

Hearing this, Hawkeye snapped and pulled his sword from its sheath as he moved to strike Nash down.

"How dare you?!" he yelled.

Suddenly, someone held him back and it was Kai.

"Relax, man. You want to get flagged for no reason," Kai persuaded him from a rash decision. "Is he really worth the trouble?"

Nash smirked, knowing full well that Hawkeye was still existing in the game thanks to Kai's intervention.

Otherwise…
