Break The Silence

Chapter 35: Chapter 35

Taehyung leaned closer, his eyes filled with curiosity and concern. "When you first joined the family at seven, what was it like?" he asked softly, his voice steady but full of emotion. He studied Jimin's face, searching for any hint of how he felt. "Were they kind to you, or were they harsh? Did anything about them seem strange to you?"

Taehyung looked calm, but he clasped his hands on his lap, revealing his nervousness. He tried to stay composed, but the thought of what Jimin might say made his chest feel heavy. He wanted to be patient, to give Jimin the space he needed, but he couldn't ignore the unease growing inside him as he waited for the answer.

Jimin shrugged, his eyes fixed on the floor as a distant look crossed his face. "They were strange," he said quietly, his voice filled with hesitation. "They treated me like I was always doing something wrong." He paused, his brows furrowing as if the memories weighed heavily on him. "When I was little, I thought maybe all families were like that. But as I got older, I started to realize something wasn't right with them."

Jimin exhaled a long breath, his voice grew softer, almost trembling, as his thoughts drifted to the painful memories. Jimin's hands fidgeted in his lap, and his shoulders slumped slightly, as though the weight of his past pressed heavily down on him. His expression seemed a mix of confusion and hurt, the emotions he had buried for so long beginning to surface.

Taehyung felt as if a panic rising slowly inside him, it was a moment, he desperately waited for, and when it finally arrived, he felt anger and pain. "Did they abuse you?" He asked, his leg began to trembled.

Jimin nodded, "They always punished me, whenever I made mistake." He said in a quivering voice, tears filled his eyes and his heart ached, "Every punishment would depends on my mistake." Every word Jimin spilled, expressed his agony, "If I did a small mistake, then they'd lock me in a basement room, if the mistake was big, then they'd beat me, sometimes with belt, sometimes with other objects." He said normally as it was a part of his life, and then the deep silence wandered into the room.

Taehyung swallowed, he gritted his teeth as the anger washed over him. Taehyung knew, he needed to control his emotions, as Jimin now seemed on the verge of burst. "Have you ever try to seek help from anyone.?" He asked, though he already knew the answer.

"No, I had nobody who could help me." Jimin replied, "At that time, I... I always missed you much, I'd wondered if you're living the same life or any different."

Taehyung stared at his notepad for a brief moment, for a moment, he felt guilt to live a better life, then he looked up at Jimin, he seemed difference, so mature now compared to the Jimin, he met month ago.

And now Taehyung could certainly say, Jimin had never loosened his mind, he never went crazy, people abandoned him, they made him suffer so much that he went silent.

"How was your bond with Jisun?" Taehyung asked.

Jimin looked petrified at the mentioned of Jisun, he swallowed, his heart suddenly began to pounded loudly in his chest, "Ji-Jisun, he was a jerk, he never accepted me as a part of his family and he always tried to hurt me." He replied in a subtle tone.

Taehyung exhaled sharply, he decided to asked one of the most important question that could lead this therapy session to a new way. "Do you know they had a son before you?" He asked.

Jimin paused for a moment, then he nodded his head. "I was fourteen when I found out about their older son, but they never explained anything to me." He said. "Instead, they shout at me."

Taehyung gritted his teeth, his hand clutched at his side, "Do you remember what happened that night.?" He asked.

Jimin shook his head, his face clouded with frustration and confusion. He always wanted to dodge this question, but today, he could trust Taehyung, "I can't remember," he said, his voice quiet but strained. "I mean, I remember everything that happened before Jisun died and everything after that night, but I can't recall how he died or what exactly happened to him. It's like those memories are completely gone."

Jimin paused for a moment, as he took a shaky breath. "I remember waking up in the living room. The police were there, searching the house, and Jisun was lying on the floor, covered in blood." His voice trembled as he spoke, and he looked down, his expression filled with guilt and pain.

"But there's one thing I know for sure," he continued, his tone firm despite the tears welling in his eyes. "I didn't kill Jisun."

Taehyung furrowed his brows, "I'm sure something terrible happened that night, and I also believed that there are chances, Mr. And Mrs. Park were involved in this situation." He said leaning closer, "If you remember anything, that could help us to find any clue then it'll be great."

Jimin shook his head then he gasped, his eyes widened, "I had a dream early in the morning." He said.

Taehyung's heart skipped a beat, "What dream?" He asked curiously.

"I saw myself tied on a chair, it was a dark room lit with so many candles, and I saw a woman, she said something weird." Jimin explained everything about his dream, "It's time for ritual, that's what she said."

Taehyung stared at Jimin silently, his heart aching at the merciless behavior Jimin had endured in his entire life. He desperately wanted to find Mr. And Mrs Park to punished them for their craziness, but he knew at this time he needed to control himself, to comfort Jimin.

"Oh yes, one more question." Taehyung said, "When you actually realized about Jisun began to haunted you." He asked in a gentle tone.

Jimin thought for a moment, "I don't remember the exact date, but he never left after his death, I tried to tell Mom and Dad, but they refused to believe me." He explained.

A heavy sigh escaped from Taehyung's lips,"Everything will be alright." He said, "I promise I'll find them and make sure they get punished what they did to you." He promised.

Before Jimin could react, a loud crash filled the room, and shards of glass flew everywhere as the fish tank shattered. Water gushed across the floor, soaking the carpet, while the fish flopped helplessly on the wet surface.

Jimin froze, his eyes wide with terror, his body trembling as the noise had triggered something deep inside him. Taehyung stood quickly, his heart racing, and reached out toward Jimin. "It's okay," he said softly, trying to calm him.

But Jimin's gaze stayed fixed on the broken tank, his breath coming in quick, shallow gasps, as though the sudden chaos had pulled him into a memory he couldn't escape. "Ji-Jisun, he's here....he did this." Jimin stuttered, stood up quickly.

Taehyung grabbed his forearm, "Look at me." He said, "Right now you're safe with this pendant, so you don't need to worry about anything." He said, taking Jimin in his embrace.

Exhausted and Petrified, Jimin gasped a long breath,

"I'm so afraid Taehyung, I'm so afraid, I...I want to stop this all, I want to live a normal life." He pleaded, sobbing through the pain.

"Just be patient, I promise everything would be alright." Taehyung comforted.
