Chaos Maker: The Wanderer

Chapter 5: Sword And Shadow Magic

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Metal clashing with rock resounded throughout the deepest part of a vast tunnel. It has been a week since I woke up in this place. Three days were spent making clothes and hunting, while the rest was dedicated to digging this expansive system of tunnels on the side of the mountain.

For four days, I have been tirelessly digging for minerals. I only stop for meals, bathing, and sleep. Sometimes, I lose myself in laughter when I discover a massive chunk of gold and gems.

Currently, I am mining a black diamond, loosening the rock around it with my pickaxe.

"Ok, that's enough material," I said. After loosening the soil, I grabbed the black diamond and pulled it free from the rock. Grinning, I left the tunnel and prepared to craft my weapon.

The moment I exited the tunnel, I submerged into my shadow, entering my thousand-square-meter shadow space. Inside, I took out all the materials I had gathered over the past few days and began forging my weapon.

Raising my hand, I concentrated magic in my palm and cast magic. Without uttering an incantation, my magic activated, forming a magic circle in each hand. A red magic circle appeared in my right palm, and a yellow-green one in my left.

Using telepathic and fire magic, I processed the materials.

With telepathic magic, I levitated the materials, and with fire magic, I conjured a 6,000-degree Celsius flame, melting everything into a liquefied state. Once liquefied, the materials were easier to manipulate. With precise control, I used telepathic magic again, shaping the liquid into my desired form.

Within a minute, the liquid had taken the shape of a double-edged sword. At that moment, I cast another spell—ice magic—to cool it down. After a short while, a double-edged black blade was completed.

Next, I began sharpening the blade, revealing a white edge beneath the black surface. With that, the blade was finished. Then I crafted the hilt. Three hours later, a beautiful double-edged black sword rested in my hand. Its blade was a blend of black and white; the fuller was black, while the edge was white. Mirroring its blade, the hilt was black with a white outline. The sword's total length was 50 inches.

I inspected the sword with a glimmer in my eye. "Good, everything is fine."

"The only things left are the scabbard and the special ability, and then everything will be complete."

A day later, the sword was finished and stored in my shadow. Now, the last thing I needed was transportation. But before that, I decided to create some assurances—the magic of my design.

"I can't access my full shadow dimension, so I'll create a smaller version."

In a low voice, I chanted the spell.

"Land of the Endless Abyss, Conjure Shadow Dimension."

Nothing seemed to happen around me—no flashy magic circles or surges of magical power—but within my shadow, it was a different story. I could feel infinite dimensions forming inside it, each the size of infinity, while my magic power was halved.

"Next, the residents."

"Beings of shadows, born from shadows, followers of man, and enemies of the Abyssal Entities, Conjure Shadow Creatures."

Again, nothing appeared externally, but inside my shadow dimension, countless shadow creatures were born, and my magic was completely drained.

"Now it's done," I said, clapping my hands with a satisfied smile.

With a thought, I summoned one of the shadow creatures. My shadow expanded rapidly, and then an Elder Dragon made entirely of shadow emerged, bowing its head to me.

The Elder Dragon had green scales, each the size of a car, and its eyes were pure black with golden pupils. A barely visible mist of dark magic enveloped its body like flames—a unique trait of shadow creatures.

I examined the Elder Dragon for a moment, nodding in satisfaction. "No problems. You can return now."

The Elder Dragon bowed and dove back into my shadow.

At the river bank.

I swam in the river, racing with the current. After a while, I stopped and started washing.

"Luckily, I know how to make soap, but man, I'm still not used to this third eye."

I scrubbed soap over myself, but when my hands reached my face, I couldn't help staring at my reflection in the water, focusing on my forehead.

Black hair, blue eyes, white skin—my usual handsome face—but on my forehead was a closed eye. This third eye was new, in my past life, I didn't have it, and I couldn't open it. I don't know what power lies hidden within it, but I'm certain of one thing, when this third eye opens, everything will change.

After bathing, I donned the clothes I made: a black coat, pants, shirt, and boots. I hung the sword at my waist.

Once dressed, I drink a mana potion that I made yesterday out of boredom and then expand my magic sense, searching for good transportation. I detected one 50 miles to the north.

"There you are."

With a powerful leap, I soared through the sky, heading north.
