Chapter 23: Ch.23 : The Birth of Unity Club
Inside the principal's office, Nic and Ken sat across from each other. Ken wore a smug expression, while Nic remained calm and relaxed.
"Sir, this eleventh grader caused trouble at the senior pool. He even tried to assault Raina!" Ken accused, his voice confident and bold.
"Everyone saw it. He was touching her—"
Nic let out a small chuckle. "Wow, senior's got some nerve. Impressive."
He pulled out his phone and displayed a photo. In it, Raina was clearly being slapped by three girls near the pool.
"I was just helping an seniors who was treated unfairly. If I hadn't stepped in, she wouldn't have been allowed in," Nic explained, his eyes locked on Ken's.
The principal nodded slowly and turned to Nic. "Thank you for explaining. I'll take immediate action against those involved."
Ken shot up from his seat, furious. "You believe him just like that, sir? What if he's lying?!"
The principal's gaze sharpened. "Ken, you're in twelfth grade. Don't you know by now? This school has hidden CCTV in nearly every corner. Everything is recorded."
Ken's face went pale. He had clearly forgotten. Without another word, he stormed out of the room in defeat.
Nic stood and prepared to leave. "Well then, I'll be heading out, sir."
But the principal stopped him. "Nic, don't let down the people who trust you."
Nic paused, considering the words. He realized the principal had been watching him all this time. With a soft smile, he replied, "Don't worry, sir. That won't happen."
---
After leaving the office, Nic headed to the restroom to check his system. Now that he officially had ten girlfriends, the system had a new reward ready.
A notification flashed on his screen:
"Congratulations! You've unlocked a new skill system: Love Shoot."
Nic read the description carefully. Love shoot was a transparent love gun only he could see. With it, he could shoot someone from a distance and make them fall in love with him instantly—no more need for direct confessions. As long as he hit the right target, it would work.
"Wow, this is awesome. But I should practice first so I don't hit the wrong person," Nic muttered, grinning.
---
Back at the clubroom, all the members were waiting anxiously. Fanny, the most impatient one, immediately grabbed Nic by the collar.
"Why'd you take so long, huh?" she growled.
Nic calmly hugged her, and she froze—her face turning bright red.
"Sorry, I had something to handle. So, have you all picked a name for our club?"
Fanny awkwardly pulled away, and one of them spoke up. "We all agreed. The name is... Unity Club."
"Unity? That's great! Simple and perfect for us," Nic praised. "You're all amazing."
He then kissed each of their cheeks, one by one, causing chaos and squeals to erupt in the room.
"To celebrate, I've got a plan," Nic announced with a smile.
"Whenever we have free time or holidays, I'll randomly choose someone for a date. But tomorrow, I'll start with Vivi—she's the first."
Leona and Nia protested immediately. "Why her first?! That's unfair!"
Nic just laughed. "Don't worry. If you behave well, you might be next. Eventually, everyone will get their turn."
---
Later that evening, as everyone prepared to go home, Nic asked a question. "There's a senior swim competition tomorrow. I want to watch it. Anyone want to come?"
A few nodded. Mika, Lily, Olivia, and Nia agreed to join. The others had prior commitments.
Nic smiled. "Alright, let's watch it together. It should be fun!"
The day ended with laughter and a new plan—to support Raina at her big swim event.
Early the next morning, Nic called Vivi to confirm their plans.
"After the swim competition, we'll go on our date," he said casually.
Vivi giggled on the other end. "Okay, just don't take too long there."
After hanging up, Nic rushed to school. Rows of buses waited, ready to take students supporting the swim team. He found Mika, Lily, Olivia, and Nia near one of the buses.
They boarded the supporter's bus and claimed the back row. Nic took the corner seat, surrounded by Mika, Lily, Olivia, and Nia.
In front of them, a cheerful girl turned around. "Hey, I haven't seen you before. You guys must be from class 10 or 11, right?"
Nic smiled and nodded. "Yeah, we're from class 11. Just here to cheer for the school's swim team."
The girl introduced herself. "I'm Melisa, from class 12."
Nia recognized her. "Oh! I know you! You're one of the school's cheerleaders, right?"
Nic was curious. "But I didn't see you at the basketball match. Why?"
Melisa's smile faded slightly. "I wasn't allowed. They thought it was pointless since our basketball team always loses. They didn't believe in us. Even when we won in the end, they didn't care."
The girl beside Melisa interrupted with a grumpy tone. "Stop talking about that, Melisa."
Melisa rolled her eyes but changed the topic.
"Anyway, are any of you Nic's girlfriend?, or are you just friends? Usually by class 11, someone's already taken."
Nic was at a loss for words. But Mika, munching her burger, casually answered, "All of us sitting here are Nic's girlfriends."
Melisa blinked. "Wait, seriously? Even the student council president?"
Nia gave a soft smile, which only deepened Melisa's confusion. The girl beside her hissed again.
"Shut up, Melisa. You're being too loud."
Melisa scowled at the girl but fell silent. Olivia gracefully diffused the tension.
"Let's not fight. Peace, alright? Sorry if we were a bit noisy."
Olivia's elegance left the other girl speechless.
---
The bus began moving. Throughout the ride, Melisa kept sneaking glances at Nic and his girlfriends. Nia, sitting by the window, started feeling sleepy. She tugged at Nic's sleeve.
"Nic, I'm sleepy. Can I nap on your shoulder?"
Nic nodded, but Olivia was between them. Nia begged Olivia to switch seats, but Olivia pretended to fall asleep—on Nic's shoulder.
Nic sighed. "Nia, just nap on Olivia's shoulder."
Nia pouted but gave in. She leaned on Olivia and fell asleep. Lily, sitting beside Nic, quickly joined in.
"Whoa, shoulder-napping event? I'm not missing out!" she said, resting her head on Nic's other shoulder.
Mika, still chewing her burger, saw them sleeping and didn't want to be left out either. She leaned on Lily while continuing to eat.
Melisa watched all of this in silence. She couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. The way these girls interacted with Nic, peacefully and without jealousy, amazed her.
Her thoughts drifted to her past—when her boyfriend left her for someone else. She had begged him to stay.
"I don't mind sharing... Just don't leave me," she had pleaded.
But he said, "That's not possible. My new girlfriend won't share."
Tears welled up in Melisa's eyes as she remembered it. In her heart, she wished she could be like Nic's girlfriends—happy, without pain or heartbreak.
---
When they arrived at the venue, Nic woke everyone by pinching their cheeks one by one. They groaned playfully but got off the bus.
Ahead of them, the bus carrying the swim team arrived. Cheers erupted as Anna stepped out, radiant and confident. But when Raina appeared, the cheers grew even louder. Anna's expression soured instantly.
Watching the scene unfold, Nic smiled to himself. "Looks like this is going to be an interesting match."
To be continued...
