Cheat Million Love

Chapter 28: Ch.28 : Collapse of the Deathly Gang

Rayn shouted angrily, "Why the hell did you help him, Eliz!? Are you out of your mind!?"

Eliz simply shrugged, calm as ever. "The only reason I joined you was because you were strong. But it looks like this guy's even stronger than you."

Enraged, Rayn lashed out, "You'll regret betraying me, you damn whore!"

Suddenly, several older members of the Deathly gang arrived. They were all stunned to see the younger members sprawled unconscious on the ground. Baron, the real leader of the Deathly gang, stepped forward with a cold glare and asked,

"What the hell happened here?"

Rayn, still fuming, pointed at Nic and Eliz. "Take those two down!"

But Roy, the vice leader of Deathly, approached Rayn with a mocking stare.

"Since when do you get to give us orders? If you want them taken out, do it yourself."

Rayn gritted his teeth, humiliated. Overflowing with rage, he rushed at Nic, ready to attack.

Eliz moved, trying to help, but Nic gently stopped her. "Just sit tight. This is my fight," he said with a faint smile, even though his body was clearly exhausted.

Eliz stayed silent, unsure. She could see how worn out he was, but something about Nic still gave her confidence.

Nic then took a stance—low and coiled like a serpent. Rayn frowned at the strange posture, but his anger pushed him forward. He charged at Nic again and again, but Nic dodged every strike with smooth, agile movements. Then, in a sudden burst, Nic closed in and locked Rayn's movements, coiling around him like a snake and slowly choking him out.

Rayn thrashed in panic, struggling to breathe as Nic's grip tightened. When Nic finally let go, Rayn dropped to the ground, gasping. He sat there, defeated, his will crushed. Deep down, he knew he couldn't beat Nic.

Roy turned to Baron. "Baron, just shut this kid-version of Deathly down. They're useless."

Baron approached Rayn and yanked the gang badge off his shirt.

"From now on, there is no more Deathly Gang for you. And if we ever see you claiming to be part of us again—we'll end you ourselves."

Without another word, Baron and the senior members left, abandoning Rayn and his broken crew.

Eliz watched it all unfold, her eyes filled with awe. She turned to Nic, eyes sparkling. "Teach me that move!" she said, full of excitement.

Nic sighed. "We should go. If we stick around, this'll turn into an even bigger mess," he said, eyeing Rayn's gang, who were slowly starting to wake up.

They left the area together.

Eliz scratched her head with a sheepish grin. "Sorry, I'm kind of a brat. I like strong guys who can protect me. That's why I joined Rayn. But honestly, I'm strong enough to protect myself. I just… I don't know. I like the feeling of being taken care of."

Nic looked at her, puzzled, then smiled. "You're weird," he said casually.

---

When they got to Eliz's house, Nic asked, "Mind if I crash here? If I go home like this, they're definitely gonna freak out."

Eliz nodded. "Sure. I just live with my sister."

Nic quickly called his sister and let her know he'd be staying over at a friend's place for the night.

Meanwhile, back at Nic's house, Vivi, Nia, and Leona were waiting impatiently to check on him, but Kiara told them Nic wasn't coming home.

"He's not even coming home!?" Vivi huffed, crossing her arms.

"I made chicken soup for him too!" Nia pouted, clearly upset.

Leona let out a long sigh. "If he comes back tomorrow without a proper explanation, I'm calling an emergency meeting with the entire Unity Club to interrogate him."

While Nic was getting some rest at Eliz's place, three of his girlfriends were steaming mad back home.

---

As Nic stepped inside Eliz's house, he saw a mature-looking woman sitting in the living room. She glanced at him sharply. This was Lizzie—Eliz's older sister.

"Who's that?" Lizzie asked bluntly.

Eliz replied casually, "Just a schoolmate, a junior. His name's Nic."

Lizzie nodded slightly, but her expression remained skeptical. "What's he doing here?"

"He's staying the night."

Lizzie blinked. "Huh? Staying over? Where's he supposed to sleep?"

Eliz paused before answering, "Maybe on the floor of my room?"

Lizzie immediately objected. "No way, Eliz. He can't sleep in there."

Eliz didn't back down. "Please, sis, he looks totally beat up." She pointed at Nic, who really did look like he'd been through hell.

Lizzie narrowed her eyes. "Did this happen because of your gang stuff?"

Eliz nodded. "Yeah, but I've left the gang now."

Lizzie's eyes widened. "You left Deathly Gang? What about that guy you said was strong?"

Eliz smiled. "The guy standing in front of you is stronger than all of them—including Rayn."

Lizzie looked confused. "What do you mean?"

"Nic took on Rayn and the whole Deathly Gang by himself. And won."

Lizzie's eyes popped. "Seriously!?" Her face lit up with curiosity and excitement. She immediately turned to Nic and said, "Go clean up and patch yourself up first. Then we talk."

Lizzie was a total action junkie. Whenever there was a movie or story about fights, she'd get completely obsessed. So hearing about Nic's situation got her fired up.

After Nic showered and changed, they all gathered in the living room. Lizzie and Eliz brought drinks and snacks. Lizzie leaned forward excitedly.

"Alright, spill everything. Start from the beginning. How did all this even start? If you tell me every detail, I'll let you stay over."

Nic nodded and began explaining everything—from the swimming competition to the street fight with Rayn's gang. Lizzie listened wide-eyed, occasionally nodding in admiration.

When Eliz came back with more drinks, Lizzie teased her.

"One tap and you were done for, huh?" she said with a grin, recalling the gym incident.

Eliz blushed, totally embarrassed. "Ugh, sis!"

She threw a cookie at Lizzie, who threw one back. In no time, the two of them were having a pillow fight right in front of Nic.

"Jeez… they're fighting over nothing," Nic muttered, munching a cookie while watching the chaos unfold.

---

That night, Nic pulled out his phone and sent a message to all his girlfriends, attaching a crying cat sticker and a simple apology.

Leona, upon reading it, immediately shouted, "Sending a sad cat sticker isn't gonna stop me from being mad!" She rolled around on her bed, fuming.

The other girls were just as upset, missing Nic after a whole day without seeing him.

Nic decided to sleep in the storage room so he wouldn't bother Eliz. As he lay down, he opened up the system on his phone, but nothing unusual happened.

He asked the system, "Can you go into my brain?"

The system paused before replying.

"Interesting question. If you do that, you'll lose consciousness until morning. Are you prepared for that risk? The benefit is that you'll never have to carry this phone again. If someone else finds it, the system will disappear. But if it's in your brain—it's yours forever."

Nic thought for a moment. It didn't sound like a dangerous risk, and it would definitely help him focus on developing his powers and protecting himself.

"I'm in," Nic replied.

Immediately, the system began transferring all its data into his brain. The process was intense, draining his energy quickly. Nic eventually passed out, unable to handle the surge of power fusing into him.

In the darkness, Nic felt the world fade away as he drifted into a deep sleep—completely unaware of what would happen next.
