DAUGHTERS

Chapter 7: Adoptions 2

Milan point of view.

Vesta and Ace are now fifteen and thirteen years old respectively. It was ten years ago that I discussed with Charles about going and adopting the girls he wanted to adopt so he could train them along with our two daughters.

I understand him, we were so united, and he didn't want the tight bounds to break. That was the major reason he had not adopted the two girls that we discussed.

But in the morning, when he was about to set out, he told me he had a very big surprise for me.

I was wondering what it could be, but I didn't want to put my hopes high, so, I crossed my mind.

In the evening, he came back home with two kids, both girls.

He took me to the front of the building without our daughters' knowledge. Two kids were out there waiting.

I thought he wanted to render them assist. He normally does that.

When he asked me what my thoughts were on those pretty angels, I totally forgot we had discussed adopting two girls. I am not that forgetful really, it's because it's been ten years.

So my answer to him was... "They are good-looking and nothing near being bad".

And he said they are mine now... "Mine now?"

I thought for a moment and I remembered we had agreed to adopt.

I went down on my knees in front of the kids to give them a warm hug.

I was the one that walked them into the house. My arms were on their shoulders with both of them standing by my left and right arms.

When I took them in, we were standing in the sitting room and I shouted... "Hello, your sisters are here".

Both of my daughters came out of the same room, Ace's room. I had no idea of what they were doing there.

When my daughters arrived in the sitting room, they looked each other in the eyes.

We told them absolutely nothing about adoptions... I guess they were confused, especially the way I introduced it to them.

Ace, being ace, a very smart girl. She must have understood what was going on, so she took her sister's wrist and dragged her to the new daughters, and they welcomed them with a handshake.

Ace put her hands on their waist, each by her side, and took them to her room.

And her elder sister Vesta, went her separate way to her room.

Her father was about to follow her, but I held him back and told him to give her time so that she could get along.

I curved my arms around his neck and held him close to me, and I told him that he had done a wonderful job.

"If you were a soccer scout, you had scouted two great future stars". I said.

His eyebrows were raised high and a smile of self-esteem was written on his face... And he replied to me with a kiss.

I asked him to go and shower and rest, because I wanted to go to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

On the dining set, Ace arranged chairs for the two girls, and she sat in between them.

Three of them were murmuring, smiling and laughing, and Ace was assisting them with the things they wanted on the dining table.

Vesta didn't move close to them, except for that first time hug that Ace forced her to.

Ever since, not a word she has exchanged with them.

All of us were discussing as we enjoyed the meal. Only Vesta was sitting on her own, not involved in the conversation which Charles and I had joined with the kids.

She was there with her normal face, not frowning, not speaking or laughing. She was only doing her forking and spooning. Then we heard.

"Your names are?". That very moment, all of us paused all the things we were doing to look at her.

And Vesta asked again, "I said what are your names?"

That was the time I came to my senses too. I don't even ask the kids' names, although I welcome them with open arms.

Ace replied to her and was going to say their names, but Vesta forbade her to speak. She said, "I wasn't asking you!"

My name is Oscar, one said, and Vesta complimented her that her name was beautiful. And the other one said she was Helen... Vesta replied and said, "Call me Vesta".

They said they already knew her name and she responded with... "Good for you!".

Some days later, Charles adopted two more girls. We have six daughters now, and they are all the same age, except for Vesta, who is two years older than all of them.

They started their training together. Charles gave them military training. He trains them like they were special forces. They were well-trained physically and mentally to adapt to any situation they may find themselves.

Charles point of view.

My six daughters are responding well to training, just the way I wanted. Vesta, Ace, Oscar, Helen, Swiss and Mince are all united.

They loved each other so much, and that's what matters the most; loving each other.

It's the mission that makes me want them to love each other to the core, so they can watch each other's backs.

During the course of our training, we discussed the mission, and they all fell in love with it.

We always plan it together, we talked about how to make it work. We talked about how to carry out a mission and I always fed their minds with the dangers of the job they were going to start. That is again an important thing they should know.

My first daughter is twenty years old now, and all the others are all eighteen.

I decided to put them into a test to see what we have been training all these years, to know if they are ready.

My daughters are well-educated. Their training didn't disturb their education. They are highly exposed, they have traveled a lot to have more knowledge.

We even had some training at some of the most dangerous places in Africa.

They are combatants that are very good in all various weapons.

We were having dinner and I told them.

"Daughters, you are going on your first mission next week".

And next week is just a couple of days away.

They were all happy, ready and were so excited except for Ace.

Her mood changed when I talked about the mission, Helen was even dancing.

I think Ace is the best of them. I expected a bad mood from them when I mentioned they would be on a mission come next week.

The test is that I will hand over to them a short gun, and it will be loaded with just two bullets.

One in each gun, just two guns that had just one bullet each in one. Let's see if six daughters can get twenty million dollars from a bully van.
