Destroying My Own World

Chapter 237: Predominance.

Amaryllis came back after she couldn't sense Sasha's life anymore. She looked at Mykel standing still, staring at Sasha's dead body after he had healed all the wounds. She knew that Mykel could bring her back to life again, but looking at him, it seemed that he didn't plan on doing so.

"Is that what she wanted?" Amaryllis asked but didn't dare to get closer.

"This is what we both wanted," Mykel answered as he kept staring at Sasha's face. "She suffered enough. She suffered from being tortured, used, living, and she also suffered from loving me," Mykel continued. "As long as she's alive, she won't find peace," Mykel added.

Amaryllis slowly approached Mykel, and then she was surprised when Mykel was holding a scroll. It was the Caveat Scroll, and then she finally realized why Mykel wanted Sasha dead.

The scroll wouldn't be able to be extracted until the task that was given was completed or the host died. Even if the host died, the scroll would go back to The Lord's side since it was his will. Now that Sasha died inside the novel world, the scroll couldn't go back and stayed there.

"I believe that's for the best, for both of you," Amaryllis said as she looked at Mykel. "Are you going to bury her here?" Amaryllis asked.

"Yes. I don't want anyone to try to dig her grave even though her soul is inside me now and nobody can take her. I want to give her a proper burial," Mykel answered and then warped away.

Amaryllis knew where Mykel went and followed him to the Empyrean World. She looked at Mykel grabbed a shovel and started digging the grave with his own hands even though he could easily create one in an instant.

It saddened her to see Mykel dig a hole and dirtied himself with a sorrowful expression. She wanted to help, but Mykel wanted to do it on his own, so she watched on the side, protecting Sasha's body.

"Can I ask why you look sad right now even though you said that this is the best for both of you?" Amaryllis asked with her hands clenched on her thighs.

"Because I let her die, twice. I saw her dead body twice, both in gruesome ways. Lastly, because I have to attend her burial twice," Mykel answered. "She was and still is the love of my life," Mykel continued as he stabbed the shovel after he made a big enough hole.

When Mykel grabbed Sasha's body, Hera came with Little Sasha and saw Sasha's dead body. Mykel didn't mind their presence as he put Sasha's body in the hole, and then he started burying her.

"The only grave in the Empyrean World," Hera said as she looked at Mykel's messy hair.

Mykel only hummed as he put down the shovel after he finished the job, and then he created a headstone for Sasha. It was similar to her previous grave, only a different place, and fewer people that attended her funeral.

Amaryllis grabbed little Sasha's hand and brought her away to let Hera have some alone time with Mykel. The moment she was far away from those two, she turned around and Hera was already hugging Mykel to comfort him.

"It's already on this stage..." Hera said as she listened to Mykel's heartbeat and tightly hugged him in fear.

"Nobody can stop me now, especially after I took the Caveat Scroll and put it inside me," Mykel nodded his head and gently stroked Hera's hair. "I have achieved all my goals for the final fight. All I can do right now is to wait," Mykel pointed out.

"Wait?" Hera asked as she kept hugging Mykel and rubbed his back underneath his suit.

"To reach The Lord's level and for Loki to give me the result of our creation," Mykel answered. "I'm not sure how long it will take, but waiting is all I can do right now," Mykel continued.

"What about Lucifer? You're going to let him go wild?" Hera asked as she looked Mykel in the eye with her eyebrows furrowed. "She's dead, and that means he got what he wanted, right? Isn't it dangerous to let him be like that?" Hera added.

"If Lucifer did kill The Lord, he did me a favor," Mykel chuckled softly. "But that would be close to impossible. There's only one way to defeat him," Mykel said as he caressed Hera's cheeks.

Hera waited for Mykel to reveal the way to defeat The Lord, but he didn't reveal it.

"There's no reason for you to hide here anymore. Let's head back to Earth," Mykel said as he slowly and gently pushed Hera away from his body.

Hera nodded her head with understanding and then she went to grab Sasha.

When the four of them came back to Earth, Hera was shocked when she saw that Earth was no longer there, only floating debris. There was nobody left except Mykel's team, Nal, Nyx, and Mara. She wondered where the other Gods and Primordials went.

"You missed the fun, Hera," Nal said as she landed and looked at Sasha. "So this is your precious daughter," Nal went down to her knees and smiled gently at Sasha as she waved her hand.

"Where the others went?" Hera asked as she watched Jeanne fight Mara in outer space fiercely.

"Lucifer and the demons retreated. The Gods and the others, on the other hand, all died, consumed, devoured, eaten, you name it. They can't be resurrected anymore, and I don't think The Lord cares about the situation down here anymore knowing a threat is coming toward him," Nal answered as she held Sasha's tiny hands.

"Hera, you finally showed yourself," Nyx said as she was on her knees. She was being pushed down to her knees by Aurea. "Did you enjoy your life in there?" Nyx scoffed as she glared at Hera.

"Just ignore her. She's just envious after she lost everything," Nal said. "Let's just focus on the last enemy that's still resisting," Nal pointed out as she looked at the Void Clouds that covered the space.

The Void Clouds were expanding and shrinking like lungs, and everyone could see the lights that tried to come out of them. They had no idea what was happening there, but then suddenly the clouds were cut open and that was when Jeanne got thrown out and landed on a debris.

Mara slowly showed herself out of the clouds, and then the clouds behind her turned into massive wings made of Void Clouds. She covered the whole universe with her clouds and she seemed to have gained a lot of power during the battle.

"You lost to her?" Aurea asked as she watched Jeanne's broken armor that was slowly regenerating.

"I hate to admit it, but something is off about her. I don't know what it is, but she's no longer the same one as before," Jeanne answered as she stood up. "My attacks don't work on her anymore," Jeanne pointed out.

"It's because, at the last moment of the story that Sasha made, Mara revealed her power," Mykel said as he looked at Mara. "That power made Asmond feel powerless in her presence, it's called Predominance," Mykel added.

"And what's that supposed to mean? We have no idea about that," Aurea asked.

"The one who controls over all power. Something that could be said above omnipotence. She's the one who reigns even an omnipotent being if that being is in the same domain as hers. To put it simply, she can overpower your power with just her existence alone," Mykel explained.

"That's bullshit," Rozan said as he looked at Mara. "So basically no matter how strong we are, she's unbeatable?" Rozan asked.

"That's why in the story that Sasha made, Mara was something that cannot be defeated," Mykel nodded his head in agreement. "If we turn back in time and she's the Mara inside the novel, I'm still able to defeat her with the help of the system. But, now that she's a real entity, I don't think anyone could stop her," Mykel continued.

"Are you implying that for all of us including you, or are you implying that just for us and not you?" Luciel asked as she looked at Mykel.

"Who knows, but I know for sure Elena can deal with her. After all, she's the one who can reverse creation," Mykel answered.
