Chapter 239: Cease to exist.
Mykel sat in the chair and was surrounded by everyone as if he was on trial and he was pleading guilty. Everyone had the same expression, and that expression was disappointment and sadness. They still couldn't believe that he would leave them again, but some of them understood the risk he took.
Brynhilde, Manna, Euros, and his team, were the ones who understood him deeply. Sometimes, when things were impossible to achieve, sacrificing oneself to achieve the goal was necessary. They had experienced hardship, and desperation, and lost the will to move forward, so they were on his side.
"We're not going to make a move until you explain everything to us, Mykel. I'm the leader now, and you have to obey me and tell us what you're planning to do," Elena said and she looked at Mykel with a cold expression.
"To kill The Lord by either taking his power and making it mine or he take my power away and then let you use your Nihility power to kill him. I know from the beginning that it's impossible to win against him since no matter how powerful I become, in the end, I can only be on par with him," Mykel explained as he looked at Elena. "I was planning to keep him busy as Mara tried to become overpower and deal with Lucifer. That was the plan, to reverse The Lord's creation with your power," Mykel continued.
"And then what? If Elena reversed The Lord's existence that also means all of his creations would also disappear, and that includes you. If you didn't exist, then none of us wouldn't exist as well. That's exactly what Nal said, and do you think that would make us happy?" Aurea asked as she looked at Mykel with her eyebrows furrowed.
"No. That's only one of the two possibilities," Mykel answered as he leaned his back and looked at Aurea. "I still don't know exactly what would happen if Elena reversed The Lord's existence. One, it was as Nal said, all of us will cease to exist, or the second one would be only he who disappeared from this world," Mykel explained.
Elena looked at her hand and realized the power that she wished for could backfire. She never thought about it, and she understood the reason why Mykel would go that far knowing it might be the only way to end it.
"Let's try it on someone," Elena said as she looked at Mykel. "Let's see how far my power can affect the law of this world," Elena added.
Everyone looked at Elena and wondered who she wanted to test her power on. Nobody wanted to cease to exist and her power had been proven that if they died from that power, they couldn't be brought back to life. Mykel already knew the outcome, but he didn't stop her since it would be best for her to see it with her own two eyes. Discover hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire
Elena glanced at Nyx, and that was when everyone immediately turned around to look at Nyx. Nyx was terrified and tried to resist, but Aurea and Jeanne grabbed her shoulders, preventing her from resisting.
"Bring back the souls of her children, Aurea," Elena said as she walked toward Nyx. "Mykel, bring her children back to life once their souls are freed," Elena continued.
Aurea released all Nyx's children's souls, and Mykel immediately brought them all back to life. Luciel and the Demon Princesses hunted the bodies and it didn't take long until all of them were subjugated and brought to Nyx's side.
"No! No! Please! I beg you!" Nyx yelled as she shook her head repeatedly and stared at Elena with a terrified look on her face. "I have no grudge against you nor any of you! My only desire is to make Nal suffer!" Nyx explained.
"That's the problem. She's our savior, and we owe her for saving us. If you're a threat to Nal, then you're a threat to us as well," Elena answered as she put her hand on Nyx's face.
"Actually. I owe Mykel, so we are even now," Nal said as she looked at Mykel.
"Well, it doesn't matter anymore," Elena shrugged.
Keres, Thanatos, and the other children of Nyx tried to save their mother, but they were powerless in the presence of the Demon Princesses. Beldathiel even used her [Inertia] skill to prevent them from moving if somehow they managed to free themselves from the Demon Princesses.
Elena released her life energy around Nyx's body and the moment she grasped her hand on Nyx's face, her whole body disappeared into thin air. The moment Nyx disappeared, all her children ceased to exist, and that was when they realized how scary Elena's power was.
"Now I have no reason to deny that she's the strongest among us," Aurea said with her eyebrows raised.
"It's a shame, you must have thought about it as well, right, Mykel?" Nal asked as she walked toward him and stood next to him.
Everyone looked at Nal and wondered why she said that.
"A shame? What are you talking about?" Jeanne asked.
"Well, I was hoping that Elena's Nihility power isn't that potent. You know, like only erasing Nyx's existence in a big family painting. But after seeing it with my own two eyes, if you erased Nyx from the painting, the whole painting became blank with nobody in it," Nal answered. "I think Mykel already knew about that, and there was no helping it but to use what he has," Nal explained.
"I can try to only erase the existence of the person that I used my power on. Give me time and I'll be able to do it," Elena said as she looked at Mykel.
"You can't. Even if you somehow managed to do it, the law of nature of this world won't allow you to just erase an existence without erasing their past and achievements," Nal pointed out as she shook her head. "This world belongs to The Lord, and he's the one who set the law of nature. You can't do anything about it," Nal added.
"Then what's the point of stopping Mykel from proceeding with his plan if, in the end, it doesn't even matter? We can't kill him as Mykel said, and using Elena's power won't even change the face we're all going to cease to exist?" Manna asked as she looked at Nal.
"As I said, I have a theory, of The Lord and his origin," Nal answered as she looked at Manna. "He's everlasting, but does everlasting really have no beginning?" Nal asked with her eyes squinted. "What if... what if The Lord isn't the one who created everything? What if he's not the first being that exists in this world?" Nal asked with her eyebrows raised this time.
"Yeah? So what about it if The Lord isn't the first being that exists? Does it even matter since he's currently still the being that rules over this whole universe? Why knowing that would help us fight against him?" Manna asked again and she looked as confused as before.
"That's not the main purpose of why we want to find out about it. The main purpose is to understand The Lord itself and his origin. I believe he's not that omnipotent and there's a way to defeat him," Nal answered. "I have tried to find the pieces of information related to him, but I couldn't do it because there's always something that stops me from doing so. I believe that my theory is right, and what we experienced earlier, it was his wrath. If there's really nothing, why would he be so wrathful toward us?" Nal asked back as she looked at Manna.
Everyone looked at each other and they were still not convinced, but there was no reason not to try to find it. They had no other option but that, and that option was still a lot better than Mykel's plan of sacrificing himself to The Lord.
"So? Where are we going to find this evidence?" Elena asked.
"Now that the void that Erebus created has disappeared. There should be a lot of places that I haven't explored since they might have been hidden behind them. I believe the answer lies in those worlds where they exist before The Lord himself," Nal answered as she looked at every one of them.
