Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Midnight abduction
Moonlit Confrontation:
Outside Iras's palace, Hylos and Iras stood facing each other, bathed in the soft, silvery glow of the night. Hylos's golden eyes gleamed with exhaustion, his curly locks disheveled, and his shimmering golden attire a testament to his readiness to flee. However, he had been apprehended by the ruggedly handsome General Iras.
Hylos's breathing grew labored, his chest heaving with exertion, as he struggled to maintain his stance. The intense chase had taken its toll, and Hylos's strength began to wane. His vision blurred, and his legs buckled beneath him.
As Iras watched in concern, Hylos's body swayed, and he collapsed onto the ground, unconscious. Iras rushed to his side, cradling Hylos's head in his lap. The General's eyes filled with worry as he gazed at Hylos's peaceful, yet pale, face.
Iras's thoughts were a jumble of emotions - frustration, concern, and a deep-seated longing. He gently stroked Hylos's hair, his fingers tracing the curves of his face. The General's heart ached with a mix of love and desperation, knowing that their situation was precarious, and their love was forbidden.
Iras carefully lifted Hylos and carried him back to the palace, gently placing him in his bedchamber. He laid Hylos on the grand bed, ensuring his lover was comfortable.
Iras sat on the floor, his eyes fixed on Hylos's peaceful face as he slept. The General's gaze was filled with a deep affection, his heart still racing from their earlier encounter.
As the night wore on, Iras's eyelids grew heavy, and he eventually succumbed to exhaustion. His head slipped onto the bed, resting beside Hylos's, as he drifted off to sleep.
The two men slept side by side, their bodies entwined, a testament to the deep bond between them. The soft, golden light of dawn began to creep into the room, casting a warm glow over the tranquil scene.
Midnight Abduction:
As Iras slept soundly, the door creaked open, and two men clad in black attire sneaked in. They approached the bed, where Hylos lay sleeping, with Iras by his side. The men carefully lifted Hylos, trying not to make a sound, and began to carry him away.
Just as they were about to escape, a faint noise echoed through the room, and Iras's eyes snapped open. He saw Hylos being carried away by a man in black, his face obscured. Iras's instincts kicked in, and he swiftly grabbed his sword, preparing to charge.
As he engaged in combat, Iras's eyes remained fixed on Hylos, who was being carried further away. Iras's anger intensified, and his sword strikes became more ferocious. "If you don't want to die, drop what you're carrying!" Iras bellowed.
The man carrying Hylos hesitated, clearly intimidated by Iras's reputation as a skilled warrior. Just as he was about to release Hylos, another attacker emerged from the shadows, striking Iras's side with his sword.
Iras groaned, blood spewing from his wound, and he fell to one knee. Despite his weakened state, he forced himself to stand and continued fighting to rescue Hylos. In a desperate bid to gain the upper hand, Iras knocked over the lamp, plunging the room into darkness.
Seizing the opportunity, Iras swiftly counterattacked, his sword slicing through the darkness. The attackers cried out in pain as Iras's blade struck true. Finally, he managed to reach Hylos, who had been roused by the commotion.
As the dust settled, Iras stood panting, his sword still trembling with adrenaline. Hylos, now awake and disoriented, looked up at Iras with a mix of fear and confusion. Iras's eyes locked onto Hylos's, filled with a deep longing and a determination to protect him at all costs.
Tending to Wounds:
Hylos's eyes widened in shock as he took in the scene before him. Two men lay unconscious on the floor, while Iras stood beside him, blood seeping from his side and lips. Hylos's gaze snapped back to Iras, who was still holding him, despite his injuries.
"What happened, General Iras?" Hylos asked, his voice laced with concern.
Iras didn't respond. Instead, he tried to stand, but his legs buckled, and he collapsed. Hylos quickly caught him, holding him upright.
Hylos's eyes filled with worry as he realized Iras had been injured while protecting him. He gently lifted Iras and carried him to his chambers, determined to tend to his wounds.
As Hylos laid Iras on the bed, the General turned his head, avoiding eye contact, his face flushed with embarrassment at being carried by Hylos.
Hylos fetched medicine and bandages, carefully tending to Iras's wounds. "You're all fixed now, so we're even," Hylos said, looking at Iras with a hint of a smile.
Iras remained silent, his eyes cast downward. "You can leave now; I want to rest," he said, his voice weak.
Hylos stood, his expression turning sullen. "Why wouldn't I leave? I didn't plan on having a guard, so I'm definitely going out," he said, his tone petulant, like a child who had been scolded.
With that, Hylos turned and walked out of the room, leaving Iras to his rest.
