Douluo Dalu 3: Purple-Gold Dragon God

Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The Savage Beast Titan Snow Demon King

Gu You moved deeper into the Extreme North, the icy wind slicing past his ears. This vast uninhabited frozen wasteland finally began to show signs of life.

The further he traveled toward the center, the deeper the snow piled. Gu You, nearly 1.7 meters tall, found himself trudging through snow up to his chest.

If I'd known, I would have brought a sled, Gu You silently cursed himself. At this pace, how long was it going to take to reach the core? It might as well be next year.

Yet even as he grumbled, when he looked out over the boundless white, Gu You couldn't help but marvel. Northern lands… a thousand miles of ice, ten thousand miles of snow. It didn't matter where in the world — the North always carried that same bone-deep cold and drifting snow.

Suddenly, a furious roar tore through the stillness, shattering the quiet of the snowy plain. Spirit beasts were appearing. Gu You realized he was closing in on the central zone.

Human exploitation of Douluo's resources had left deep scars, especially on the spirit beast populations. The once-great Star Dou Forest, once called the first and greatest forest, had shrunk to a fraction of its old size.

The Extreme North looked better on the surface, but countless illegal poachers ignored federal law, slipping into the outer regions to hunt hundred-year and even thousand-year spirit beasts. The hundred-year ones were often captured alive and sold to the Spirit Transmission Tower; the thousand-year ones were killed outright, turned into spirit rings.

Because of this, the outer zones were practically empty. Only in the middle regions did true beasts still roam.

But the middle region was dangerous. Ten-thousand-year spirit beasts could appear at any moment, and only the strongest or craziest poaching groups dared venture here.

The roar's source soon revealed itself: a snow lion, around four thousand years old. Snow lions were usually pack hunters, but males often hunted alone.

Gu You barely paid it any mind. With just a flicker of his aura, the snow lion froze, then yelped and bolted away. He shook his head slightly. He wasn't here to hunt these beasts — they weren't yet endangered, and besides, that snow lion clearly had a family depending on it.

To speed his progress, Gu You crouched down and began clawing his way forward with his dragon claws. Strangely enough, this method worked better than walking. Every so often, he'd poke his head up, check his location on the electronic soul guide map, and adjust course.

Finally, after relentless effort, Gu You reached the Shallow Snow Zone, where the snow's depth lessened enough to run.

"Alright!"

Grinning, Gu You sprinted forward like a wild stallion, free at last. For a whole hour, he dashed across the icy plain, the wind slicing against his skin, his heart soaring. That heavy weight pressing on his chest — the dread of the upcoming life-and-death battle — seemed, for the moment, to fade.

Vast skies, boundless earth…

Just a few years ago, he'd been a lonely child from Tianhai Orphanage, powerless and unsupported. Now, just a few years later, he was a fifth-rank blacksmith, a soul master brushing the edge of Soul King rank, a figure known across the federation.

Perhaps, among all those who had crossed worlds, Gu You wasn't the strongest. But he was without a doubt one of the most transformed — a truth no one could deny.

Days passed. On the third day, Gu You began to feel the intense cold seep in. The air itself became sharp, and each breath scraped like shards down his throat. He slowed his pace, shifting to a careful walk.

The Extreme North had once been part of the Heavenly Soul Empire, its northernmost boundary. Gu You's current path took him from Shrek City in the south all the way to the frozen northern core — traversing the entire northlands.

Another two days passed. Each night, Gu You curled up tightly inside his sleeping bag, but even his powerful body and top-tier gear couldn't fully block out the shrieking winds. Sleep came poorly, his mind always half-alert.

When he rose in the mornings, his eyelashes were stiff with frost, and ice fell away with each blink.

Eventually, he spotted something in the snow — a red warning sign, barely sticking out of the drifts.

It read: Extreme North Region. Human Entry Forbidden. Spirit Beasts Present — Danger! Danger! Danger!

Gu You wrinkled his nose. Who the hell put this sign up here?

He kept going. The further north he traveled, the stronger the beasts became. Some backed down under his pressure; others were less cooperative. Once, he encountered an Ice Emperor Scorpion, but thanks to the suppression effect of his own Ice Emperor Scorpion spirit ring, it submitted instantly and was drawn into his mindspace — a companion for Tie Hanhan.

The snow thickened again, but now the landscape was dotted with trees. Gu You cut a few down and crafted makeshift skis, strapping them to his feet. With a hard push, he shot forward, gliding smoothly over the surface.

Suddenly, an overwhelming aura swept down from above.

The moment it appeared, Gu You's spiritual power shattered like brittle glass.

His sharp golden eyes narrowed. Through the swirling snow, he focused his Purple Demon Eyes and pierced the haze. There — towering giants, over a thousand meters tall. Not one, not two — dozens. Over sixty figures.

Titan Snow Demons.

According to legend, these beings were the offspring of the ancient Ice God and the Titan Giants. Known as the Titan Snow Demon clan, they were the undisputed rulers of the Extreme North. A newborn Titan Snow Demon stood over ten meters tall; an adult exceeded two to three hundred meters with ease.

Seeing them in person, Gu You felt his heart tighten. Damn… people on this continent would fuse with anything. Rabbits, snakes, butterflies, sharks, dragons… probably even a hundred-thousand-year queen bee if one showed up.

The ground rumbled as the Titan Snow Demon herd approached. Judging by their numbers, this was no ordinary patrol — this was a full force, led by the Titan Snow Demon King himself.

The pressure in the air grew suffocating, so dense that even Gu You felt his breath catch.

This was a true three-hundred-thousand-year savage beast.

A deep, ancient voice rolled across the snowfield.

"Human…"

Gu You stood beneath the towering behemoths, utterly dwarfed. By sheer physical size, the Titan Snow Demon clan unquestionably ranked as the largest spirit beasts on the continent.

Without the two former Ice Sovereigns to restrain them, the Titan Snow Demons now reigned supreme over the Extreme North. Even the Ice Emperor Scorpion clan couldn't match them.

Gu You raised his head, locking eyes with the Titan Snow Demon King.

In that instant, his aura exploded outward. Four spirit rings materialized behind him.

Black. Black. Red. Green.

The Titan Snow Demons let out guttural, half-human howls of shock. A human — with a red spirit ring? A hundred-thousand-year spirit ring, on a four-ring soul master?!
