Chapter 103: Chapter 103: The Orange Spirit Ring
They were staring at a human — a four-ring Soul Master — who possessed a red hundred-thousand-year spirit ring. Even more shocking, the aura coming from that ring belonged to one of their own kind from the Extreme North.
"King! Kill this human soul master! He has slaughtered the beings of our Extreme North!"
"Yes! The pure lands of the Extreme North must not be defiled by humans!"
Several Titan Snow Demons roared in anger. But the towering thousand-meter figure — the Titan Snow Demon King — did not move. It merely watched, its massive eyes fixed on Gu You.
With over three hundred thousand years of cultivation, the Titan Snow Demon King's intelligence rivaled or even surpassed that of many humans. It could sense the unique aura on this human — an ancient pressure it had only ever felt from the Ice God or a true dragon.
"Human. Out of respect for your hard-won cultivation, leave the inner region of the Extreme North," the Titan Snow Demon King rumbled, its titanic eyes locked onto Gu You.
"I'm sorry, but I can't leave. I came here precisely to find you. Nowadays, savage beasts are nearly extinct. There are barely any hundred-thousand-year soul beasts left on the continent. My third spirit ring is already at the hundred-thousand-year level — surely I can't have the next ones be weaker, can I?"
Gu You's calm words held no fear. He had enough cards to play.
Arrogant!
Even the Titan Snow Demon King was angered. Wasn't this human basically asking it to become his spirit ring?
"Human! If you wish to die here, then prepare yourself for the Ice God Titan's Roar!"
"Our king!"
"Let this foolish human boy taste the power of our Titan Snow Demon clan!"
The surrounding Titan Snow Demons raised their voices in a thundering chorus.
"Before you rush into battle, why not hear my offer? I promise you'll be satisfied," Gu You said evenly, his purple vertical pupils gleaming as he released an overwhelming pressure that immediately made the Titan Snow Demons hesitate.
"Impossible!" the Titan Snow Demon King roared, slamming its fist into the snow. With a boom, the ground cracked open, creating a seven- or eight-meter-wide pit.
It could feel it — a bloodline suppression! But it was the descendant of the Ice God; how could it possibly be suppressed? Unless… unless… a terrifying possibility surfaced in its mind.
"Since you're willing to listen, let me explain. I can help you become a god. Like the two rulers of the Extreme North ten thousand years ago, you can enjoy endless years, surpass your three-hundred-thousand-year tribulation, and avoid the death that's creeping closer with your four-hundred-thousand-year limit. Don't you want that?" Gu You's clear voice echoed across the icy plain.
The Titan Snow Demon King fell silent. It knew it couldn't survive the four-hundred-thousand-year tribulation. But this human boy claimed he could grant godhood. Could it really believe that?
"How can you prove it to me?" the Titan Snow Demon King rumbled cautiously.
"With this."
A circle of purple light flared behind Gu You's head, radiating divine aura, sacred and overwhelming.
Thud!
The Titan Snow Demon King almost fell to its knees but quickly adjusted, lowering one massive knee in a gesture of respect. That aura — it was too familiar. Over two hundred eighty thousand years ago, it had encountered a human divine envoy who possessed this very aura.
"Divine One," the Titan Snow Demon King murmured, bowing its massive head.
The other Titan Snow Demons also knelt, their mountainous bodies making the ground tremble.
Gu You gazed down calmly. Someday, he would reach the point where the heavens and the earth themselves could no longer obscure his eyes or bury his heart. He would make all things bow to him — he would seize the sun and moon with his hands, pluck the stars from the sky.
The snowstorm howled, ice whipping through the air. In this moment, something fierce and unshakable took root deep within Gu You's heart: the eternal seed of a king, a heavenly emperor.
If only he were stronger already… Would Yuezi have dared to…
"No need to call me Divine One," Gu You said softly, closing his eyes. "I haven't yet fully mastered that power."
"Yes! But if I leave, what will happen to this place? What will happen to my people?" the Titan Snow Demon King asked, raising a painful but critical question.
"It's simple. Your entire Titan Snow Demon clan can come with me." Gu You smiled calmly.
What?
Not only the Titan Snow Demon King, but the other Titan Snow Demons were left dumbfounded. With their thousand- and ten-thousand-year cultivations, they had more than enough intelligence to understand what Gu You was proposing — and it sounded insane.
"Become my spirit souls. Merge into my spiritual sea, and you will see. The Extreme North will not fall. And if humanity tries to invade, I promise you, I will not stand idly by," Gu You said confidently.
The Titan Snow Demon King still had its doubts. But when faced with the chance for immortality, could it really hesitate? Even if there was only a sliver of hope, it did not want to die beneath the lightning tribulation.
A soft blue light gathered at the Titan Snow Demon King's forehead. With a faint flash, a small glowing orb emerged, drifting gently through the air toward Gu You's brow.
Yes — this was its spiritual essence.
The Titan Snow Demon King's massive body dimmed, then collapsed with a thundering crash, shaking the surrounding snow.
The remaining Titan Snow Demons wept. Their king was gone, voluntarily given to the human to become his spirit ring. But none dared to attack Gu You. Their king had made the choice willingly.
Don't be fooled by how simple this process seemed — only spirit beasts that had broken through a major limit and reached over a hundred thousand years could extract their spiritual essence like this.
"Incredible… your spiritual sea…" the Titan Snow Demon King murmured, awestruck by what it saw inside Gu You's mind.
This was an entire world! A space where spirit beasts thrived, brimming with abundant life energy. No wonder… no wonder…
"Do you believe me now? Your people can all be absorbed into this place, live peacefully, and even strengthen their cultivation," Gu You said, his projected figure smiling warmly at the Titan Snow Demon King.
"Titan Snow Demon clan?" Tie Hanhan stirred awake.
"Ice Emperor Scorpion King?! And a hundred-thousand-year one at that!" the Titan Snow Demon King exclaimed in surprise.
"Everyone, meet Tie Hanhan," Gu You said, pointing at the Ice Emperor Scorpion.
"Go to hell! That's not my name!" Tie Hanhan roared.
"Feeling bold, are we? Talking to your master like that," Gu You laughed.
Watching this playful scene, the Titan Snow Demon King was stunned. Could humans and spirit beasts truly coexist like this?
"My name is Ah Tai. That's the name the Snow Empress once gave me," the Titan Snow Demon King said softly, a trace of nostalgia in its voice. The Snow Empress — she had been stunningly beautiful, a true ice spirit, a living embodiment of heaven and earth. Even female spirit beasts who saw her were said to admire her. As one of the three great rulers of the Extreme North back then, Ah Tai had naturally admired her too — though he'd never dared confess it.
"That's more like it. Everyone should get to know each other, so we don't have any clashes later. I still need to collect the rest of Ah Tai's people, but for now, I'm leaving," Gu You said as his figure gradually faded away.
"Don't forget to collect my clan too!" the Ice Emperor Scorpion muttered.
The Ice Emperor Scorpion clan: … sigh…
Gu You shook his head lightly. Behind him, the Titan Snow Demon King's spirit ring began to condense — an orange ring, a color unique to three-hundred-thousand-year spirit souls.
