Dragon Ball: Ultimate Selection System

Chapter 3: Dawn of Rebellion

When Link's plan for a Saiyan rebellion began, nothing on the surface appeared to change.

The Saiyan troops, led by mid-level warriors, swiftly overran the Frieza Force's communications outpost on Planet Vegeta.

Under pressure, the soldiers sent false reports to the Frieza Force:

"Sir, everything is normal on Planet Vegeta; there are no changes..."

Meanwhile, Link personally led a team that quickly subdued several higher level warriors of Frieza's force—the very men tasked with monitoring King Vegeta. After encrypting the communicator, Link immediately summoned all the Saiyan captains to explain his plan.

As we know, Frieza—the self-claimed Emperor of the Universe—is far more powerful than anyone on Planet Vegeta. His first form alone boasts a combat power of over 530,000, not to mention his other transformations.

Even the proud King Vegeta doubted that the Saiyans could ever defeat Frieza.

Link though that as well, but he saw a glimmer of hope. Frieza's decision to remain in his first form—despite his potential to transform—meant his combat power was effectively capped by his own foolish.

In contrast, when Link transformed into a Great Ape, his strength could surge past one million—a level more than enough to overcome Frieza's 530,000.

Link believed that if he acted swiftly—catching Frieza off guard before he could transform—the seemingly impossible could become reality, even if he initially wielded only about 100,000 combat power.

Link then ordered all Saiyans to gather in the capital—not to directly confront Frieza, but to draw his attention. Although they might not be able to harm Frieza personally, their collective presence would force him to take notice.

After all, Frieza was never alone; he commanded a strong force. If Link acted alone, Frieza might transform before he could be surprised.

Not everyone opposed the bold plan. For too long, the Saiyans had suffered humiliation—forced into submission by Frieza and living as expendable mercenaries conquering planets.

With that in mind, Link only had to say one sentence in order to convince King Vegeta.

"King Vegeta, you know why Frieza sought to annihilate Planet Vegeta, don't you? It wasn't merely for power—it was born from his dread of our race's untapped potential."

King Vegeta, recalling how his own decisions in the past had drawn Frieza's ire, finally accepted Link's words.

He chose to ally with Link to ensure the plan's success. Under his influence, many Saiyans obeyed the orders—albeit reluctantly.

Link also secured crucial support among the lower ranks. Bardock—the revered elite warrior and father of Goku—had once suffered a near-fatal blow during an invasion of Planet Kanasha. This encounter endowed him with an ability to foresee the future.

In a vision, Bardock had witnessed Frieza's destruction of Planet Vegeta. Convinced of the looming threat, he pledged his loyalty to Link.

With the mid-level warriors rallying behind King Vegeta and the lower ranks united under Bardock, Link had assembled his army for the final phase of his plan.

A few days later, on the night foreseen by Bardock's vision, all the Saiyans gathered in the capital of Planet Vegeta, their eyes fixed on the sky.

"Bardock, is the time almost upon us?" Link asked softly as he gazed upward.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Frieza will arrive soon," Bardock replied.

From the sidelines, King Vegeta's voice trembled: "Our destiny—the fate of all Saiyans—rests on this one move!"

"We will win," Link assured him.

Then, a violent roar shattered the night as enormous energy readings flooded the detectors.

Sure enough, it was exactly what their King had said. Frieza had arrived uninvited with his army.

Taking a deep, steadying breath, Link's expression turned solemn. Now was the moment to create a miracle.

If his plan succeeded, it would mark an unprecedented battle—a battle where the weak could overcome the mighty, rewriting the original plot. The future of the Saiyan bloodline hinged on this gamble.

"Former King Vegeta, Paragus! You may begin!" Link commanded.

King Vegeta and Paragus nodded in unison. Although they would not lead the direct assault, each would command a small team of elite warriors assigned a critical task: fabricating multiple artificial moons on the ground.

Their mission was to ensure that an ever-present artificial moon hung in the sky—a process that consumed enormous energy, a burden only high-level warriors could bear.

"Don't worry, King Link! For the Saiyans!" came a rallying cry.

In an instant, dazzling white light formed in their hands. Several warriors threw these bright bursts into the sky, and soon light orbs—resembling the gentle glow of the moon—began to hang in the skies.

With the birth of the artificial moons, every Saiyan on Planet Vegeta raised their battle cry, ready to face Frieza in a conflict that would forever change their fate.
