Fairy Tail: My Magic is the Sun

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Juvia Joins

Location: Fairy Tail Guildhouse and Coastline

The shadow of despair lifted as the Phantom Lord Guild Master fell. The remaining Phantom Lord members instinctively felt a strange relief — no one truly desired a Guild Master who would slaughter his own comrades.

Fairy Tail's members paid no mind to their fallen foes. The haunting memories of Jose's monstrous rampage and the mutilated Phantom Lord soldiers left an unspoken truce in the air.

Escanor raised his hand, glowing with radiant power, and cast a massive healing spell that spread over both guilds.

Wounds closed, breath steadied, and exhaustion eased — but the enmity remained unspoken. Former foes now sat side by side, eyes locked in wary silence.

Makarov's voice rang out with authority:

"Everyone! Clean up the Guild grounds. The Council members will be arriving shortly."

Hearing this, several Phantom Lord members exchanged nervous glances, attempting to flee.

But at that moment, intricate magic circles flared beneath their feet — Imprisonment Magic. The Council's elite magic squad had arrived.

Makarov descended gracefully from the sky, his gaze sweeping over the crowd.

"Guild Master! Are you all unharmed?"

Escanor nodded, calm and assured.

"We're fine. Escanor returned just in time. Everyone's tired from the battle but intact."

The Council members stepped forward, faces serious.

Though they had failed to intervene earlier, they had used this battle as a grim measure of Escanor's overwhelming strength.

After hearing the confessions from Phantom Lord's remnants, the Council reached a consensus:

Escanor was a power none should provoke. Even they could not match his fury.

"Lord Escanor, what will you do with Phantom Lord now?"

Escanor's voice was steady.

"The true culprit was their Guild Master. The subordinates have already suffered enough."

Makarov nodded solemnly.

"I will report this to the Council Chairman."

The Phantom Lord members were led away under guard, their rebellion ended.

That evening, inside Fairy Tail's Guildhouse, the atmosphere softened.

Makarov bowed his head, remorse coloring his voice.

"I am sorry. It was my failure as Guild Master to let this happen."

Fairy Tail members gathered around him.

"Don't say that, Grandpa," Erza said firmly. "It was all because of Phantom Lord's Master."

Natsu added with a grin, "You've done great, Guild Master."

Makarov's eyes shone with tears.

"These kids... truly are my family."

"Then, my little ones, let the banquet begin!"

"Roar!!!"

Tension melted away as laughter and cheers filled the hall.

Escanor accepted toast after toast, his rare smile lighting the room.

He later wandered to the bar, where Mira and Makarov shared knowing smiles.

"Grandpa, can we rebuild the Guild quickly now?" Escanor asked.

Makarov chuckled.

"I intend to. But... maybe not too quickly. My secret stash is nearly empty."

"Don't be stingy!" Mira teased. "We can all pitch in!"

Escanor laughed, rubbing his ear.

"Ah, Mira, my ears feel off after the battle. Can you check on them tonight?"

Mira's warm smile lingered as she watched the grandfather and grandson banter.

Outside, the lively chaos continued.

Natsu and Gray argued, chasing each other through the Guild.

Suddenly, a loud crack echoed.

A load-bearing pillar, installed after the battle damage, cracked under their wild play.

"My Guild!!!" Makarov's scream reverberated through the town.

The next morning, Escanor arranged for building materials to be delivered.

Natsu and the others knelt before Makarov, grumbling but ready to work.

Escanor smiled quietly at the scene.

Everyone threw themselves into reconstruction.

Escanor hauled mountains of materials, Erza switched to Re-equip: Construction Mode, and Natsu attempted to mimic Escanor's strength—only to be flattened under a pile of wood.

In a quiet corner, a figure watched intently, shy smiles occasionally flickering across her face.

"Ah! It's him! Lord Escanor!"

It was Juvia.

After the battle, she had left Phantom Lord, unsure how to approach Escanor amidst the chaos.

Her thoughts drifted back to childhood.

Her magic had always caused rain wherever she went.

She was shunned and bullied, called a jinx.

Until one day, a boy with sun magic came to town.

Escanor, reluctant to pause his mission, heard rumors about the constant rain.

Curious, he sought the girl said to bring storms.

At the park, several children threw stones at a small blue-haired girl, shouting cruel insults.

Escanor's anger flared.

With a flash of magic and a stern glare, he sent the bullies fleeing.

He knelt beside the girl, extending a hand.

Their eyes met — hers reflecting the light of the sun for the first time.

Escanor conjured a glowing crystal from his magic and offered it.

"Wear this. No one will call you a freak anymore."

The rain stopped.

Clouds parted.

Sunlight bathed the girl in warmth.

The crystal, infused with Escanor's magic, suppressed her unstable powers.

Though still young, her future was bright.

Escanor left quietly, his mission calling.

The girl searched for him afterward, yearning to find the boy who had shown her kindness.

She joined a Guild, hoping one day to reunite.

Now, Juvia stood before Escanor, heart pounding.

"I'm... Juvia. I want to join Fairy Tail."

Escanor smiled gently.

"Welcome to the Guild."

The sun set behind them, casting a golden glow on new beginnings.

Fairy Tail's family grew stronger.

To be continued...
