Chapter 142: Successful Crusade
Su Yan exhaled, stepping onto solid ground. He looked at his palm, noticing a wound there—a rare occurrence, since in most of his battles he didn't usually bother with Armament Haki. He would casually endure opponents' hits, or else rely on his far more potent Conqueror's Haki in wide-range attacks. Only when forced into a true head-on clash did he lean on the defensive strength of Armament Haki.
"Seems I really found a limit," he muttered. In this world of magic, Su Yan had never believed sheer physical prowess could make him truly invincible. Even if Kaido himself existed here, powerful enough to stand among dragons, there were still enemies that could push him.
All around, the ruined control tower of Nirvana lay in debris, and the massive moving city finally ground to a halt.
At that moment, Natsu, Wendy, Carla, and Happy arrived. The group landed carefully among the cracked stones.
"Brother Su Yan, are you okay?!" Wendy asked anxiously, seeing blood on his palm.
"I'm fine," Su Yan said with a reassuring smile. Inwardly, he was quite relieved. Another tough fight—yet he'd come away the victor. Plus, he'd gained some unexpected growth from the ordeal.
"Awesome, so this thing finally stopped moving." Natsu breathed a sigh of relief. The swaying of Nirvana made him feel sick and dizzy.
"Since we wrecked the control tower, there's no more steering," Su Yan added lightly.
Wendy, hand on her chest, closed her eyes in relief. "That's wonderful…Cait Shelter is just ahead; if Nirvana had kept moving, it might've destroyed my guild."
Suddenly, a shadow swept overhead. Everyone looked up to see the battered Blue Pegasus magic bomber—Christine—limping across the sky. Despite being severely damaged, they'd managed to coax it into flight once more to reach Nirvana.
"Hey—everyone!" Lucy's voice called down from the airship. "Are you alright?"
"Lucy?!" The Fairy Tail group recognized her voice immediately.
Soon, Christine managed a wobbly landing atop Nirvana, allowing the entire Allied Force to reunite. They climbed down, many supporting injuries.
"Phew…so you're all safe!" someone exhaled in relief.
Erza's gaze roamed across the scattered Oración Seis members lying unconscious. "What about the rest of Oración Seis?"
Su Yan gestured to the collapsed forms: "All taken care of."
The Blue Pegasus trio in particular glared at Midnight's prone figure, remembering how he'd once beaten them. But now, evidently, he'd been bested by Fairy Tail.
Jura approached, mentioning he felt a surge of overwhelming magic just moments ago—clearly referencing Zero's final awakening. Yet the threat was gone now, with Zero lying defeated.
Lucy blinked at the wreckage. "So that…that weird guy Brain changed into someone else called Zero?"
"Seems so," Su Yan said. "Claimed he was Oración Seis' true master. Not that it helped him in the end."
Wendy then piped up, "Umm, since we're so close, would you all like to visit Cait Shelter? I mean, it feels odd not to. Our coalition ended successfully…we should rest."
Everyone murmured agreement. Indeed, the Alliance was battered and exhausted, their clothes and armor in tatters. Even Su Yan stood with part of his outfit half-shredded from the fighting. Visiting the Cat House guild for respite sounded wise.
Shortly after, they boarded Christine—still barely airworthy—and made the short trip to Cait Shelter's location beyond the forest.
Meanwhile…
Deep in the rubble of Nirvana, Zero—who had been left unconscious—suddenly snapped his eyes open, glowing red. He rose in silence. "Heh…this isn't over," he muttered, though battered and bleeding.
