from F-Rank Heir to Dimensional Beast Tamer

Chapter 16: Facing the Dungeon Boss

The moment Liam and all his tamed monsters entered the boss room, a chilling wind emanated from the place, causing the massive gate behind him to seal shut.

Without turning or even flinching, he continued to look straight ahead, his eyes fixed on an enormous skeleton seated in the center of the room.

The room itself was a vast hall with a ceiling full of skulls staring down at the floor.

The hall was also filled with several massive pillars, or rather, shiny white bone-like structures that extended to the ceiling.

On the intricately carved walls, groups of Skeletal hands held glowing stones between their fingers, illuminating the space.

Liam felt a shiver down his spine due to the strangeness of the place, but he didn't lose his composure.

Calmly, he drew a pristine sword he had found on Level Nine and ordered the monsters around him to spread out and prepare for battle.

Tremor!

Clash!

Suddenly, a bloody red glow appeared in the eyes of the colossal seated Skeleton.

It slowly rose to its feet and gazed at Liam with a cold, malevolent stare.

"Wtf..." Liam raised his head and looked at the face of the Skeletal giant, which stood over nine meters tall.

It was incredibly massive and terrifying.

[D-Rank Skeletal Giant]

But the moment he saw its rank, he felt a bit of relief. Fortunately, the giant wasn't impossibly strong.

At that instant, the Skeletal Giant took a step forward and punched at Liam.

Its punch was so powerful it made the air around it howl.

His pupils shrank in fear, and he swiftly leaped to the side, rolling gracefully on the ground, evading the fatal blow.

The moment the giant's fist struck the ground, the entire hall trembled, and the stone floor cracked.

"Fuck!" That was the only word Liam could think of.

In short, if that punch had connected, he would have been turned into a paste of flesh.

He quickly regained his composure and stood on his feet, gripping his sword tighter.

Involuntarily, he shivered, realizing that the Skeletal Giant surpassed him in strength and durability despite them being the same rank.

Without allowing fear to control him, he began to give orders to his tamed monsters:

"Bats, fly around it and distract it with your screeches!"

"Lizard, stick to the wall and try to hit its eye sockets with your acid spit!"

"Spiders, bind its feet with your webs!"

"As for you..." Liam suddenly fell silent, staring strangely at the Skeleton.

Then he sighed, "Just stay out of my way."

Following the orders, the bats circled the Skeletal Giant's head, attacking it with their annoying screeches, which left it disoriented.

The Skeletal Giant began to swing its arms wildly in rage, but due to the loud noise, its attacks became slower and less precise.

At the same time, the Skeletal Spiders began weaving their webs around its feet, aiming to bind it.

However, with every chaotic movement from the giant, many of the spiders' threads were cut, yet they continued to work diligently.

After a few seconds, the webs began to show their effectiveness, causing the Skeletal Giant to stumble, and its movements became restricted.

Taking advantage of this, the Skeletal lizard, which had climbed one of the walls, began spitting large balls of acid, targeting its eyes.

However, most of the balls landed on its skull or the bones of its ribcage.

The powerful acid began to dissolve the bones, causing a loud sizzling sound accompanied by a foul odor.

Without any of them stopping, the monsters continued to attack the giant with all their might, while Liam calmly observed the situation from a safe distance.

'Very good. It seems my plan was effective.

However, it looks like this monster won't die easily.'

After pondering the matter for some time, he made his decision.

"Let's end this quickly."

With extreme coldness, he unleashed his Dominating Aura, directing its full focus towards the Skeletal Giant.

At that moment, a suffocating pressure emanated from his body, falling entirely upon the giant's form, causing it to flinch and tremble.

Its movements froze, giving the Skeletal Spiders an opportunity to bind it with more webs.

The Skeletal lizard also rained down all its remaining acid upon it.

As for the Skeletal Bats, they stopped flying erratically and directed their combined attack towards a single point.

Liam also joined the fun.

He raised his hand, aimed it at the Skeletal Giant's head, and yelled, "Fireball!" A flaming orb the size of a palm shot out from his hand with insane speed, striking the Skeleton's eye.

It let out a strange whimper and exhaled wildly.

After practicing casting the Fireball spell dozens of times, Liam realized that yelling its name, even slightly, helped him organize his magical power at the casting stage.

After casting the Fireball spell once more, he pulled out two small daggers and threw them towards the Skeletal Giant's skull, shouting, "Take this!"

One of the daggers pierced the giant's skull and became lodged in it, while the other struck its forehead and fell to the ground.

After a full minute of sustained combined attacks, the giant's skull began to crack.

A few holes also appeared in its head due to the strong acid, some parts of its ribcage melted, and its feet became completely bound.

However, despite all this, the Skeletal Giant showed no sign of falling;

it continued to stand, its body trembling madly.

The bloody red glow in its eyes began to fade little by little, but then it suddenly intensified.

At that moment, the Skeleton opened its mouth and let out a loud screech.

Liam's body froze, and he felt a terrible premonition.

Before he could realize what was happening, the Skeletal Giant broke free from the Dominating Aura.

It then moved with extreme savagery, swinging its arm and striking a nearby Skeletal Bat, sending it flying into the wall.

It then turned and punched the Skeletal lizard clinging to the wall, turning it into small fragments.

All the monsters under Liam's control were E-Rank, so even an accidental blow from the Skeletal Giant was enough to kill them.

It didn't stop there.

Unexpectedly, the holes and cracks in the giant's head began to heal rapidly, and within a few seconds, its skull returned to normal.

Words caught in Liam's throat, and a desperate expression appeared on his face.

"How am I even supposed to kill a monster like this?"

'Hold on...!'

Suddenly, he realized something and began to stare oddly at the giant.

'This bastard got a bit smaller, and its movements also slowed down.'

He smiled faintly. 'That's good. My attack had an effect, and it seems there's a limit to its regeneration.'

He quickly devised a suitable plan and calmly ordered the System,

"Distribute all my remaining points to Agility."

[Distributing…]

Knowing the necessity of taking precautions, Liam had held back some points and hadn't distributed them.

He first wanted to discover the dungeon boss's weakness.

Then, he would allocate all his points to the attribute where he surpassed his enemy:

speed. As his agility increased, his speed would rise, and his reactions would improve.

'I can't avoid a direct fight. My tamed monsters won't be of much help here.'
