Future Me and My Love

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Our First Date

Lee walked out of the restaurant, still thinking about her mom's words. Grandchildren. How was she even supposed to respond to that?

Gen walked beside her, hands in her pockets, looking way too relaxed.

Lee glanced at her. "So… what do you think about what my mom said?"

Gen shrugged. "We can talk about that later."

Lee frowned. "Later?"

Gen stopped and turned to her with a smirk. "Yeah. Right now, I have something more important to talk about."

Lee sighed. "What now?"

Gen grinned. "Our first date."

Lee blinked. "What?"

Gen tilted her head. "You heard me. Let's go on a date. A real one."

Lee gave her a look. "Gen, we just had a stressful talk with my mom. This is not the time."

Gen tsked. "That's exactly why it's the perfect time."

Lee folded her arms. "How does that make sense?"

Gen stepped closer, lowering her voice. "Because if we sit around thinking about all this, you'll get wrinkles from stress."

Lee scoffed. "Excuse me?"

Gen grinned. "I'm just trying to help. You should thank me."

Lee rolled her eyes. "Unbelievable."

Gen leaned in, whispering. "Or you could kiss me instead."

Lee pushed her face away. "Not happening."

Gen laughed. "Worth a try."

Lee sighed. "Where exactly do you want to take me?"

Gen smirked. "Somewhere special."

Lee gave her a blank stare. "That doesn't tell me anything."

Gen shrugged. "You trust me, right?"

Lee narrowed her eyes. "Not really."

Gen clutched her chest dramatically. "Ouch. That hurt."

Lee sighed. "Fine. One date. That's it."

Gen's eyes lit up. "One date for now."

Lee groaned. "I already regret this."

Gen grabbed her hand. "No take-backs, Doc. You're stuck with me now."

Lee shook her head, but she couldn't hide the small smile forming on her lips.
