Chapter 4: Meeting Hogwarts.
Me and Hermione sat down in a cabin and waved at her parents.
"They are really nice people." - "They are. I've really grown to love them."
I waved my hand and the door and blinds closed.
Hermione: "Why'd you do that?"
I pulled out a ring. "I had the Goblins regain access to everything on my parents' bodies when they passed and this ring is a family ring going back centuries.
I know I'm not a true Potter, but I've been blood adopted, and I'm the next heir so I felt it is right." - "What are you doing?"
"What I couldn't do in our last life. Giving you a ring. I know it isn't a fancy way to ask, or anything like that. But I felt this moment is still special.
So I ask you, will you one day Marry Me? Not now, of course, we are physically too young. But with this ring I give you my full devotion."
She held out her hand and I slipped on the ring and it shrank down to fit her perfectly when I let go.
Hermione: "Yes, I will Marry You. Only took you 7 years."
I laughed. "We were 4 when we awoke."
She kissed me. "Excuses. Excuses."
I laughed and I felt something happen. But I couldn't explain what.
.
Once we made it to Hogsma we walked into the hall then down out of the train.
Hagrid: "Right, then! First years! This way, please!
Come on, now, don't be shy! Come on now, hurry up!"
We walked over to him and I waved.
Hagrid: "Hello, Harry."
"Hey, Hagrid." I looked at Hermione who smiled. "Hagrid, Hermione. Hermione, Hagrid."
He waved down at her. "Well, hello there." - "Hello."
"He's the one who helped me get my books and stuff. Very friendly. You'll like him."
Hagrid smiled at us, then really smiled when she looked at Hermione's hand. "Do you know what you did Harry?"
"Give her a promise and my devotion. I've known her since I was 4. I've always planned to be with her forever." - "You definitely don't have to worry about that now."
He shook his head slightly with a grin before looking at everyone else. "Right then. This way to the boats! Come on, now, follow me."
We looked at each other confused.
"Do you know what he's getting at?" - "Not a clue."
We shrugged it off and left it to our future selves to figure out.
We looked forward the. Followed everyone to the boats.
We smiled introduced ourselves and went with Neville.
As the Castle came into sight I can't help but exclaim "Beautiful."
Hermione: "It is. Isn't it?"
We continued through the water until we hit land.
We walked up the stairs to Hogwarts then continued up even more, until we met with another professor.
McGonagall: "Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family.
Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule-breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house
cup."
Neville spotted something and ran out to grab it.
Neville: "Trevor! he catches his toad." McGonagall stares down at him as some of the students laugh
"Sorry." He backed back into the crowd with his head down.
McGonagall: "The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily." She cracked the door and walked into the Great Hall.
Draco: "It's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." Some of the students are heard whispering, "Harry Potter?"
Draco with his two friends walked up to me. "This is Crabbe and Goyle. And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy."
"Okay? Why are you telling me this?" - "You're Harry Potter aren't you?"
I pointed to my forehead and hair. "I have blonde hair and no scar. How am I Harry Potter?" - "I don't know how. But you are."
Ron: "Come on Malfoy. He's not Harry Potter."
Draco: "Who are you, Wait." He looked down at him. "I do not need to ask your name. I know, Red hair, and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley."
McGonagall walked back into the hall while he spoke and glared down at him.
Draco turned his head to see her, then stepped back into the crowd.
McGonagall: "We're ready for you now. Follow me."
The door opened up all the way and we walked through.
The whole first-year class stared up at the fascinating ceiling.
"Looks better in real life, than the movies."
Hermione: "It truly does."
McGonagall led us all the way to the front and stood next to the sorting hat.
McGonagall: "All right, will you wait along here, please? Now, before we begin, Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words."
Dumbledore rose from the main table and everyone looked at him. "I have a few start-of-term notices I wish to announce. The first years, please note that the Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all students.
Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death. Thank you."
He sat back down and McGonagall continued. "When I call your name, you will come forth, and I shall place the sorting hat on your head, and you will be sorted into your houses."
Names got called, but Hermione didn't get called when she should have.
We looked at each both asking the silent question Do you know why. But we didn't.
McGonagall: "Draco Malfoy."
Draco saunters up proudly.
Before the hat could fully land on Draco's head it screamed. "Slytherin!"
All the students cheered, just not as loudly.
Ron: "There isn't a witch or wizard who hasn't went bad who wasn't in Slytherin."
I grinned and tapped his shoulder. "Wasn't Merlin in Slytherin?"
His eyes went wide. "Yes, B. But."
"Okay. I was making sure."
McGonagall: "Susan Bones."
A small redhead, named Susan Bones, walks up to the Sorting Hat.
I looked around and noticed a black greasy-haired, pale man. 'Awe Severus Snape.'
He gave me a sinister look, and my scar hurt.
'I can see how Harry thought it was him. The timing is almost perfect.'
I looked a little to the right of Snape and saw the turban facing me. I put a hand up to my forehead do to the sharp pain, but I didn't make a noise.
Ron: "What is it?"
"Nothing, I'm fine."
Sorting Hat: "Let's see... I know! Hufflepuff!"
McGonagall: "Ronald Weasley."
He nervously walked up there to have the hat placed on him.
Sorting Hat: "Ha! Another Weasley. I know just what to do with you... Gryffindor!"
McGonagall: "This can't be right." She brought the list to Dumbledore and he looked shocked as well but nodded and she moved back to her original position.
She cleared her voice. "Mr. And Mrs Potter."
The room went silent. Not a single person made a noise, I think you could have heard a pin drop in the hallway.
McGonagall: "Harry and Hermione Potter please come up.
The room went crazy at those words.
We looked at each other once more confused.
I looked down at her hand and lifted it up to show the ring. "We must have done something stupid."
We both laughed as we stood up and made up to her.
Everyone went silent, and everyone in the first year was really confused.
My hair changed back to normal as my scar appeared.
I turned around to face everyone at the last step.
"Sorry, everyone. I wanted to get to know some people before they knew my true identity."
We finished the last bit and I was placed on the chair while Hermione stood next to McGonagall.
Sorting Hat: '"Hmm... difficult, very difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. Definitely a good mind, too. There's talent, oh, yes, plenty of talent.
Even a lot of Loyalty to your friends and Family. But where to put you?'"
"'Gryffindor. Gryffindor.'" - "'Gryffindor? Why not Slytherin? Or Ravenclaw?'"
"'My friends are there.'" - "'I see. I see. You'd do great in any house and I think you'd do great in Slytherin, but I guess I'll have to go with... Gryffindor!'"
'"Please don't separate me and Hermione."'
Before he could say anything the hate was taken off of me and I took Hermione's place and she sat down.
Sorting Hat: "Gryffindor!"
Fred and George: "We got the Potter's! We got the Potter's!"
I grabbed her hand and held it up and danced a little to the twins' chant as we walked down to the Gryffindor table.
Once at the table, we sat down and ignored the loud cheering and questions from the table.
"And the fun begins." - "I'm not worried about that stuff."
"You want to study." - "I have this mind. Might as well put it to good use."
"That is a really good point."
We sat quietly and watched everyone else get sorted until the whole incoming class was sorted.
Everyone was talking, waiting to see what will happen next when McGonagall yelled to get our attention. "Your attention, please."
Dumbledore got to his feet. "Let the feast... begin!"
