Highschool DxD: I have a Dimensional Travel System

Chapter 214: Seducing Hephaestus!?

Chapter 214 - Seducing Hephaestus!?

"I think so too," Mahiro replied.

Hearing his answer, Hestia wrapped her arms around him with a tender smile.

"With your growth speed, Mahiro, there's no need to worry about upgrades at all."

Hestia spoke softly, her voice warm. "At this point, you should focus on improving your strength."

"And right now, all your basic abilities are above D. If you wish to rank up, you can do so at any time."

"But..."

She continued, "The higher your basic abilities before a rank up, the greater your potential afterward."

"I think you should aim to get all your basic abilities to A or higher."

An A in all basic abilities—among adventurers of major familias, very few could achieve such a feat.

Even most high-class adventurers only had a couple of their abilities at the A.

However, in Hestia's eyes, Mahiro achieving an A was far too easy.

"A?" Mahiro remarked with a hint of amusement. "An A is too low a target."

"Of course, I know my dear Mahiro wouldn't settle for just an A," Hestia said, smiling knowingly.

"I'm hoping you'll achieve multiple S in your basic abilities."

She paused for a moment, her energy rising, and added, "In fact, it would be perfect if all of it reached S!"

S was considered the pinnacle an adventurer could achieve.

After reaching the, the growth of abilities slowed significantly, with further increases becoming nearly impossible.

So far, no adventurer in Orario—or even the entire world—had surpassed the S.

Achieving an S in even a single ability was an extraordinary thing.

For an adventurer to reach S in all abilities was unheard of.

But Hestia had such expectations for Mahiro.

She firmly believed that he who consistently defied common sense, could do so.

"All S?" Mahiro smirked faintly.

His ambitions far exceeded that goal.

In the anime, Bell Cranel had shattered the boundaries of common sense by surpassing the S.

Mahiro didn't think he was any less capable than Bell.

Especially since he possessed rare skills.

Mahiro's goal wasn't merely S in all basic abilities.

He was aiming for something higher—all basic abilities at SS or even SSS.

"By the way, Mahiro, are you hungry?" Hestia asked suddenly.

"Now that you mention it, I am. I haven't eaten much today."

"Then wait here. I'll go buy something to eat," Hestia offered, jumping off his back.

"Let's eat out today and enjoy something nice," Mahiro suggested with a smile.

"That sounds expensive," Hestia murmured, tempted but hesitant.

Having descended to the lower world, she often found herself in a state of poverty.

While she craved the delicious food available here, she rarely had the valis to indulge.

"It's just one meal. It won't cost much," Mahiro reassured her. "Besides, we didn't celebrate the founding of the Hestia Familia yesterday."

"As for the valis—I'm quite good at earning it."

After hearing this, Hestia finally agreed.

Mahiro got dressed and headed downstairs with Hestia.

It was almost nighttime, so the shop was quiet.

Hephaestus sat alone, sipping tea slowly.

However, her gaze often drifted toward the stairs.

"Going out for dinner?" Hephaestus asked as they walked together.

"Mahiro and I are celebrating together!" Hestia exclaimed happily.

"I see. Then I won't intrude," Hephaestus settled down her teacup.

"Come with us, Hephaestus," Hestia said, rushing to her side.

"Lady Hephaestus has helped us so much. Please join us. It's nothing fancy, but we'd like to show our gratitude," Mahiro added with a smile.

"Alright, alright," Hephaestus sighed lightly.

"Is that your..." Hephaestus noticed the parchment in Mahiro's hand.

Even with one eye covered by an eyepatch, her other eye's vision easily caught the details.

It had Mahiro's status detail.

"Yes," Mahiro confirmed.

Hephaestus felt a twinge of curiosity.

Although she had restrained her interest earlier, the sight of Mahiro holding the parchment rekindled her desire to see it.

Even gods were not immune to curiosity—especially regarding someone as extraordinary as Mahiro.

"Lady Hephaestus, would you like to see my status?" Mahiro asked, noticing her expression.

Hephaestus blushed and stammered, "O-Of course not! I have no desire to see your status."

'That's a lie. I do want to see it...'

Then, forcing herself to remain composed, she said, "No, I don't want to."

Mahiro burst into laughter.

Hestia, catching on, laughed along with him.

"Hephaestus, there's no need to act so distant with us," Hestia teased. "Aren't I your best friend?"

Hearing Hestia's words, Hephaestus's face softened.

She huffed lightly, "Since you two don't seem to have a problem, then so be it."

Without warning, Hephaestus lightly hit Hestia on the head, causing the latter to yelp in surprise.

Hephaestus continued sternly, "Never share your Familia's status with anyone—not even me. This is confidential."

Then, softening her tone slightly, she added, "Since this is Mahiro's first update, I'll take a look—but this should be the first and last time."
