Chapter 215: You're Trying To Kill Me!?

Chapter 215 - You're Trying To Kill Me!?

"Hephaestus, you?"

Hearing Hephaestus's words, Hestia looked at her with suspicion.

Hephaestus had always been a composed and mature goddess in Hestia's eyes.

Even though Hephaestus's job was forging—a profession seemingly at odds with the graceful image of a goddess.

She always carried herself with elegance and poise, never swayed by external distractions.

But now?

What on earth was going on?

Hephaestus, who was usually indifferent to everything except forging, blushed when Mahiro talked to her.

Blushing just because someone mentioned something sensitive?

Or…

Could it be she had feelings for Mahiro?

After all, Mahiro was extraordinary in every sense.

For a moment, Hestia's eyes narrowed as she stared at Hephaestus with sharp vigilance.

Noticing Hestia's intense gaze, Hephaestus coughed awkwardly.

"No need to worry."

"Is that so?!"

Hestia's glare only intensified.

"Hey, Hestia, don't look at me like that!"

Hephaestus forced a dry laugh and explained matter-of-factly, "It's a perfectly normal reaction. Isn't it natural to be curious?"

"Mahiro is always doing something unexpected, after all."

"You know we gods can't help but be drawn to extraordinary things like that."

"I guess you're right…"

Hestia nodded reluctantly but still looked suspicious.

"But don't worry, Hestia."

Hephaestus returned to her usual calm demeanor and said, "I'm just curious. I won't go snooping or crossing boundaries."

With that, Hephaestus smiled lightly and took a sip of her tea, trying to play it cool.

Mahiro shook his head with a smile, stepped forward, and placed the parchment in front of Hephaestus.

PFFT—!

Caught off guard, Hephaestus spat out her tea.

"Cough-cough!"

She quickly wiped her mouth, looking embarrassed and annoyed.

"Hephaestus, are you okay?" Hestia asked with concern.

Hephaestus glared at Hestia, her gaze practically shouting, 'Can't you guys stop giving me things?'

Status details were considered private and confidential.

Whether it was the captain of the Familia or the adventurer themselves, the information was something to be closely guarded.

Even the Guild had no authority to demand detailed statuses—they could only register the adventurer's level.

Skills, magic, and basic abilities were all secrets that had to be protected.

And yet, here Mahiro was, casually laying his status details in front of her.

It was undeniable that Hephaestus was curious, but as a goddess, she prided herself on self-control.

Even if her curiosity was nearly unbearable, she had no intention of actually peeking.

"Take it away. If you leave it in front of me like this, I won't be able to resist," Hephaestus said with a sigh.

"It's fine. You can look," Mahiro said with a calm smile.

"Do you even understand how much trouble it could cause if your status is exposed?" Hephaestus retorted.

"Or did Hestia fail to explain this to you?"

"Of course, I understand," Mahiro replied calmly. "But I trust you."

Hephaestus froze for a moment, caught off guard by his answer.

"I heard from Hestia how, back in Heaven, she didn't have many friends, but you were the one who always helped her," Mahiro continued.

"Thanks to you, I had the chance to meet Hestia.

"So, showing you my status details isn't a big deal."

"You…"

Hephaestus pressed a hand to her forehead and sighed. "I only helped Hestia because I wanted to, not because I expected gratitude."

"I know," Hestia added simply.

"Fine, fine…"

Reluctantly, Hephaestus let her gaze fall to the parchment.

Her curiosity, long suppressed, finally won out.

A moment later, Hephaestus was holding the parchment, her expression shifting rapidly.

"What… What in the world is this status?!"

Her fingers tightened around the parchment, nearly crumpling it, as she stared in disbelief.

"I knew you'd react like that, Hephaestus!" Hestia said smugly, her face practically shouting I told you so.

"If my memory serves me right, you gave your Falna yesterday, right? Meaning it's only been one day?" Hephaestus asked, trying to confirm.

"That's right. Surprised, aren't you?" Hestia giggled.

"Surprised doesn't even cover it—it's beyond shocking!" Hephaestus exclaimed.

"One day of adventuring, and he's achieved what others struggle to do in a year!"

"If I didn't know better, I'd think you forged this details just to mess with me!"

"How could I possibly forge it? This is Mahiro's updated status from today," Hestia said with a wide grin.

"Yes, yes, I know…"

Hephaestus took a deep breath. "The parameters alone are absurd, and this magic… And these two skills…"

She looked at Mahiro with a mixture of awe and disbelief. "You're trying to give me a heart attack, aren't you?"

Mahiro couldn't help but chuckle softly.

Hephaestus shook her head, muttering under her breath, "You…"

Despite her usual composed demeanor, she found herself breaking character, stunned by what she had just witnessed.
