Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Albus Dumbledore
It was three days later when William took an early leave did they meet with the Hogwarts Professor. Well, the supposed professor since the one that showed up was a bit surprising. Now in the living room was an old man with a long white beard that could be tucked into his belt buckle. He wore half moon glasses and a colorful robe as he smiled kindly at Felix.
The man who came to introduce magic was the legendary Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Felix was surprised as he quite liked Albus Dumbledore even if many viewed him negatively in discussions and fanfictions.
For the man was a human who while making mistakes and did plenty of behind the scenes things, he still tries his best. After all, trying to get a teenager who was fairly rebellious like Harry Potter and his two friends to face a foe that even smarter and more experienced wizards fell too. If a curse didn't basically bring him to the end of his life, trying to guide Harry probably would have. Even so, while preparing Harry for what he will face and doing a few questionable things, he still tried to give Harry a somewhat decent life while trying to prepare him for what to come.
Overall, Felix evaluation of the man is a good man who is willing to do what must be done. Granted, he also knew Dumbledore could be too far sighted at times and will manipulate others if he felt it was for the better. However, this could also be considered a flaw that most geniuses may develop.
"I'm sorry about dropping in like this suddenly. It has come to my attention that one of my professors tried to schedule a meeting a bit rudely a few days ago on short notice." Albus Dumbledore began. "I hope you can forgive us for that since young Felix's last name causes her a great deal of discomfort."
"Is that so?" William simply looked at the old man. "We can delve into that issue later. Can I know what kind of school Hogwarts is and why should I send Felix there?"
"Hogwarts is one of the best schools in the world to learn witchcraft and wizardry for young magical children. Young Felix here is a wizard and he should have done a few abnormal or different things before." Albus Dumbledore began. "This is magic."
"I don't remember anything like that." William frowns.
Felix coughed a bit, "Journals."
"Ah! Magic is involved?" William said with surprise.
"A bit yes," Felix lazily said.
Maybe it was due to his tiredness of his last life or due to the headaches and weakness he had most of the time due to peeking. Felix tended to have a lazy nature to him despite wanting to do a great deal. However, he tends to lack energy like when answering questions.
"Journals?" Dumbledore asked curiously. "Are you able to use magic to some degree, Felix?"
"A few parlor tricks." Felix replied. "I should have a journal around here, right father."
"I think I stored them under the stairs. Give me a moment." William, despite his shock, got up.
After a few minutes, Dumbledore saw a stack of journals present before him and picked one up. He flipped through them and was a bit surprised at what he saw. Then he picked up the next one and after looking through a couple of them, he put them down.
"Are you a seer, Felix?" Dumbledore.
Felix rubbed his chin for a moment. In a sense he could be said to be a seer, but not one the magic world or Dumbledore was thinking of. While he could make trinkets to help him peek into the future paths, he didn't feel like doing so. He truthfully didn't care to peek at what the future held and if he ever felt like peeking, then he would probably just peek at the weather.
Of course peeking at the future of things like magic, potions and those don't count. That is his addiction and hobby and he refuses to give it up despite the side effects.
"That is a bit tricky to answer. In a general sense I could be considered a seer, but at the same time I'm not. Due to wanting to keep this ability to myself, I won't say more, but it is possible to peek at a possible future, though I don't really hold much interest in that." Felix replied.
"Can you show me?" Albus Dumbledore asked. "I met a few seers in my life and I would like to see how it's different."
William looked a bit worried since he suddenly had an understanding when Felix grows weak. However, truth be told, Felix tended to be by himself when he does things and he was curious how it happens. So he pulled out an empty journal and pen for Felix who just looked disinterested.
"Fine, I will demonstrate it once, in exchange, Headmaster you will buy my school supplies this year and wand while doing what the other professors do." Felix huffed. "Also help me with the animagus transformation in my third year."
"Very well," Dumbledore nodded after a while.
Albus Dumbledore knew his request was a bit out there, so he didn't mind spending a bit of his savings to buy school supplies for the child before him. It has been a while since an actual seer walked the halls of Hogwarts. As for helping him become an animagus in this third year, he decided to take a wait and see for it would depend on Felix talent in Transfiguration and if he is still interested in it.
"Then, may I see your wand? Don't worry, I'll just hold it for a moment." Felix asked.
While it may be a bit bold, Felix wasn't going to pass up a chance of holding the Elder Wand. The truth is he could probably make a wand similar or better than it, but that could be a future project. He currently didn't have the skills nor items to make one and the wand materials probably aren't cheap.
Dumbledore took a moment before he handed over a long wooden stick with a series of knots on it. The wand felt a bit weird in Felix hands due to its length of fifteen inches and the worn down wood. That not to say it wasn't maintained, but this wand has been around for centuries and even older than Nicholas Flamel who is over six hundred.
Thinking about how he wants to demonstrate this ability, Felix thought for a moment. In the end, he decided to write out the process of creating it. While he thought of improving the wand, Felix felt that just writing how it's made would be quicker. He wanted to visit Diagon Alley with Dumbledore after all. So if he got a migraine and basically put himself into a weak state, the trip would be more tortuous than fun.
So under the looks of the two before him, Felix's eyes changed to red with blue pentagram in them. Then under their watch, he began to furiously write in the journal as a few beads of sweat formed on his forehead and his color lightly paled. However, he soon finished and didn't end up in a full on weak state, but instead just had a mild headache and a bit winded.
"Here, this is a small part of my abilities." Felix handed the journal to Dumbledore.
Dumbledore opened up the journal and his eyes slightly widened at what he read. It wasn't so much how to manufacture another Elder Wand, but Felix's ability and eyes. Unlike the other prophets he had met, Felix was indeed different. For he clearly wrote a clear instruction and not a vague thing.
"Interesting. So can you only use your gift on objects." Dumbledore said.
"If you want a definite answer, I require a contract or binding of sorts from you so you won't spread it." Felix said.
William just sat to the side and looked a bit hurt. Clearly it was shocking to learn that magic is real and he adopted a wizard child. Only that child hid it from him for a few years and probably the only reason he is finding out now is due to the Headmaster of a magic school.
Felix noticed William hurt look and grabbed his chin for a moment, he turned to face William. "Mainly because of my laziness in explaining and it's not like I hid it from you. You just never really asked."
William slumped as Felix did have a point, he just thought Felix was a super genius. A boy who would grow into a legendary man like Albert Einstein and other similar figures in history. So he really didn't ask too much, but now he guesses Felix is special in other ways too.
'Yes, Felix is a special boy with or without magic. Adding magic just makes him even more special.' William comforted himself a bit. 'He won't mind me asking him various questions after Mr. Dumbledore leaves right?'
Felix noticed a strange smile on William's lips than how the man's brown eyes shifted over to the bookcase. There a few fantasy novels were placed and among them were the Lord of the Rings, which was William's favorite series. Which made Felix scratch his head since he could probably guess William's future question, is it possible to make things from this story?
