Hokage: I Am an Uchiha with the Power to Extract Entries

Chapter 89: Uchiha Itachi

After hearing Yuma's suggestion, Fugaku was still uncertain.

Hesitantly, he spoke with difficulty: "But if this happens, our already precarious situation in the village will worsen..."

"Don't worry about the other ninja clans. Since when did the Uchiha have to worry about anything besides the Senju?" Yuma interrupted Fugaku before he could finish speaking, voicing his thoughts aloud.

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Fugaku finally understood: "You're right... The Security Department holds so much power that the other ninja clans won't like it. If we take control of this benefit, they will just have to accept it, even if they are displeased!"

Fugaku's realization deepened. He understood the village's leadership's primary goal: stability.

As clan leader, he knew why the village was so wary of the Uchiha. The legacy of the Second Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen's ties to the Sarutobi clan, and the historical distrust of the Uchiha all played a part in this. The village's leaders felt they had to remain vigilant.

Moreover, the Sharingan, the Uchiha's most powerful ability, had a dangerous side. Its power could only be accessed through pain, and the resulting paranoia among the Uchiha made them difficult to control. Fugaku had firsthand experience with this, having awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan through the pain of losing his closest friend.

But when Fugaku considered the situation and looked at Yuma, he found himself calming down. The young man before him, who had absorbed Uchiha Setsuna's political legacy, could help stabilize the Uchiha clan. A stable Uchiha would be the village's ideal partner.

Fugaku now saw clearly: the village needed a stable, manageable Uchiha clan. No leader with a clear mind could oppose it.

Moreover, Yuma's strength would make the Uchiha an asset rather than a liability. The village leadership would overlook the clan's more extreme actions as long as Yuma was involved. Uchiha's reputation within the village would improve, and the village's top brass would tolerate their behavior to keep him on their side.

Uchiha Fugaku was beginning to grasp the bigger picture.

When Yuma noticed Fugaku's changed expression, he knew the clan leader had come around. He continued, "The political situation in Konoha has been stable for nearly forty years. Stability is key. It's something the village prioritizes above all else."

Fugaku nodded, now fully on board with the plan. He and Yuma immediately began discussing the specifics of the Security Department reform.

After finalizing their strategy, Yuma smiled and said, "I'll leave the execution to you, Fugaku-san. As clan leader, your involvement will make a big difference. I'm confident the clan will overwhelmingly support the reform."

Yuma then took a sip from his tea bowl, feeling a sense of relief. With the reform in place, the income from the Security Department would remain unaffected, and the profits from the 'taxes' on underground organizations like the Yakuza would be substantial. The Uchiha, a clan that had been in decline for decades, would see a significant boost in its wealth.

This would ease Yuma's financial strain and allow him to meet Tsunade's annual research funding of 300 million ryo. He put the tea down with a contented sigh and smiled at Fugaku.

"By the way, we agreed before to accept Fugaku-san's child as our disciple. If it's convenient, let's do it today!"

Fugaku smiled and said, "You're a reliable person. Please wait here; I'll bring Itachi."

Less than a cup of tea later, Fugaku returned, bringing a young boy with an unusually mature expression. "This is my son, Uchiha Itachi," he introduced proudly. "He's two and a half years old now."

Fugaku was immensely proud of his son, having noticed his exceptional intelligence and maturity at such a young age. He had realized half a year ago that Itachi was no ordinary child, a discovery that filled him with joy.

Yuma, intrigued, walked up to Itachi and gently placed a hand on the child's head. With a calm demeanor, Yuma allowed his system to extract the most brilliant golden entry, before smiling warmly at Itachi.

"Nice to meet you, Itachi-kun. Are you interested in becoming my disciple?"
