Chapter 74: Chapter 75: Is It Exactly Seven?
Temari's gaze shifted awkwardly as she asked Naruto, "Did you hear about it?"
Naruto nodded calmly. "Yeah, I just found out."
Temari stared at him, her tone serious. "What do you think about it?"
Naruto paused, his expression unreadable. "I have a fiancée."
"What?!" Temari's eyes widened in shock. "Then why would your Hokage make such a decision?"
Naruto sighed, crossing his arms. "It's all political games. Do you think they care about our opinions?"
Temari hesitated but ultimately agreed. "You're right. No one asked us what we wanted. It's frustrating."
Though she found Naruto attractive and appreciated his confidence, Temari wasn't the type to make decisions based purely on feelings or appearances. For her, a stable and dependable personality mattered most—qualities she believed could enhance a ninja's chances of survival and minimize unnecessary pain.
As Temari mulled over her thoughts, Naruto asked, "So, what do you think?"
She exhaled softly, her voice tinged with resignation. "This is my father's decision, and it's already finalized. Changing it seems impossible."
Naruto nodded thoughtfully. "I understand. Maybe I'll talk to the Third Hokage about it."
Temari's eyes widened. "Wait a minute! Don't be impulsive!"
Naruto tilted his head in confusion. "Impulsive? How is that impulsive?"
Her voice rose slightly, as if to bolster her confidence. "Of course, it is! Questioning a Kage's decision is reckless for any ninja."
Naruto shrugged. "I guess we just see things differently."
Temari's cheeks flushed as she glanced at the ground, her voice faltering. "I think… maybe we could… give it a try?"
Naruto's eyes narrowed with curiosity. "You're always so tough. Why do you suddenly seem shy?"
"What?!" Temari's voice rose, flustered. "Even tough girls get nervous in situations like this! You really don't know how to talk to women."
Naruto laughed lightly. "That's probably true. Usually, girls are the ones coaxing me."
Temari froze. "What?"

An Awkward Connection
Their conversation carried an air of awkwardness, reminiscent of a blind date forced upon strangers. Eventually, the two entered Ichiraku Ramen.
As Ayame served their bowls, she playfully pinched Naruto's cheek. "Naruto, did you change girlfriends again?"
Naruto's jaw dropped. "What? No! Don't say things like that, Ayame-san!"
Ayame smirked, covering her mouth to stifle her laughter. "Oh, right! I forgot. Little Naruto has a fiancée. The other girls are just his admirers."
Naruto groaned. "You're not helping."
Temari raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Wait… what does she mean by that?"
Naruto scratched his head, trying to explain. "Well, it's a little boastful, but I'm kind of popular in Konoha."
Temari rolled her eyes. "I could tell the moment I met you."
The meal was anything but peaceful, as villagers and ninjas frequently stopped by to greet Naruto. Temari noticed his growing frustration.

An Invitation to Suna
As they left Ichiraku Ramen, Temari observed Naruto's furrowed brow. "You don't seem to enjoy all this attention," she remarked. "Why don't you visit Sunagakure? Or even stay for a while?"
Naruto blinked in surprise. "What?"
Temari smiled confidently. "I'm inviting you to the Sand Village. If this life in Konoha bothers you so much, why not take a break?"
Her offer had more layers than she let on. If she could bring Naruto to Suna, it might disrupt his connections in Konoha, including his relationship with his fiancée. Additionally, Temari admired Naruto's calm demeanor and maturity—qualities she valued in a potential partner. Not to mention, keeping someone as powerful as Naruto in Suna could benefit her village greatly.
Naruto considered her words for a moment before nodding. "Alright."
Temari's eyes lit up. "Great! Let's leave now."
Naruto shook his head with a small smile. "Not yet. I have some unfinished business in Konoha."
Temari huffed but conceded. "Fine. But it's late. Can you walk me back to my hotel?"
"Of course," Naruto replied without hesitation.

Outside the Hotel
Standing outside the Suna delegation's hotel, Temari turned to Naruto. "Be honest. How many girlfriends do you really have in Konoha?"
Naruto's expression turned serious. "Just one."
Temari felt a sense of relief wash over her. But before she could respond, a deep voice rumbled in her mind.
"He's lying," said Kurama, the Nine-Tails within Naruto. "That boy has at least seven or eight girlfriends."
Temari froze, startled by the unexpected voice. Realizing it was the tailed beast speaking, she listened as Kurama continued.
"Let's count them, shall we? First, there's his fiancée—one. Then, his pink-haired teammate who's always clinging to him—two. That blonde friend of hers—three. The red-haired girl he saved—four. The rich girl he helped for pocket money—five. The ramen shop owner's daughter—six. And that villager who claimed his daughter was charming—seven. Need I go on?"
Temari stared at Naruto in disbelief. "Is this true?"
Naruto's face twitched in frustration. "Kurama, stop causing trouble! Most of those don't even count!"
Kurama chuckled darkly. "I'm just pointing out the facts, boy. You're fun to mess with."
Naruto groaned, rubbing his temples. "I've never had improper thoughts about any of them!"
Temari crossed her arms, clearly unconvinced. "If that's true, why does your tailed beast say otherwise?"
Naruto sighed, shooting Kurama a mental glare. "He's just trying to mess with me. Don't take him seriously."
Kurama's laughter echoed in his mind, leaving Naruto to deal with the awkward tension hanging in the air.

Reflections
As Temari retreated into the hotel, she couldn't help but smile. Despite the strange encounter, she found herself drawn to Naruto's honesty, resilience, and surprising humility. If she could convince him to spend more time in Suna, she might uncover even more of his hidden depths.
Meanwhile, Naruto stood outside, shaking his head at Kurama's antics. "You're unbelievable," he muttered.
Kurama chuckled again. "Admit it. I made things more interesting."
Naruto sighed, but a small smile tugged at his lips. Despite everything, he couldn't deny that life was never dull with Kurama around.
As the moonlit village settled into quiet, Naruto's thoughts turned to the road ahead. For now, he had responsibilities to attend to in Konoha. But soon, he would face new challenges—perhaps even in Sunagakure.
