Chapter 479: Chapter 479: The Sky and the Sea, the Complete Realms of the Underworld World Tree, Awaiting the Final Moment!
An eruption of sinister energy.
The Sea Realm sealed.
The Mythical World's fury revealed.
It can be said that the Greek Pantheon, the Mythical World, has become increasingly strange.
But regardless of the oddities, the gods no longer have the time or power to worry about such things; they can only continue to fight on this singular path forward.
This is the only outcome.
Whatever the future may hold, it is no longer important. There is only one conclusion—a single result and no second chance.
The Racial War!
This is the sole outcome and the only opportunity. There will be no second chance, nor the time to seize it.
"Nereus…"
Hemera arrived at the entrance to the Sea Realm, quietly waiting.
And though the Sea Realm was sealed, Nereus slowly emerged with a calm smile and said, "Hemera, we meet again."
"Yes, we meet again."
Nereus wasted no words, raising his hand as a ball of azure light appeared. "This is a portion of the Sea Realm's essence. It should be enough for the Underworld."
"Good."
Hemera accepted the essence and departed.
"Sigh!"
With Hemera's departure, Nereus sighed softly and murmured, "Your Majesty, what you've done is exactly as that Underworld King predicted. Now, it's only a matter of what happens next!"
Nereus felt helpless.
The Underworld World Tree! Every god knew about it; after all, the war between Hades and Hyperion was no secret to any who had the intelligence to understand.
As a result, the gods were fully aware of the circumstances and the stakes.
In this context, Hades had gradually established the Astral and Earth Realms.
What would his next targets be?
The Sky and the Sea! That was undeniable.
In truth, had Hades not ascended to the rank of Ancient God—or if his progress had been slower, allowing Poseidon and Boreas to succeed—the conquest of the Sky and Sea Realms would not have been as straightforward.
But, the situation is quite the opposite.
Hades ascended, reaching the level of Ancient God.
An Ancient God. A God-King. The difference between the two is immense. This is no small matter. Now, the disparity is evident, clearly standing before them.
There's nothing to be done.
The facts remain as they are.
So…
What can they do about it?
In essence, it's an insurmountable problem.
As an Ancient God, Hades is simply too powerful, forcing the Sky and Sea Realms into making a difficult choice.
Is Poseidon really incapable of controlling the sinister energy? Let's be serious! For all these years, Poseidon had mastered it perfectly. How could it suddenly surge out of control now?
In truth, this was Poseidon's plan all along. By this means, he allowed the Mythical World to seal off the Sea Realm, creating isolation yet safety by distancing it from everything else.
It's a good outcome.
In fact, it's the best one.
Now, Poseidon has time to do what he wants, taking care of the remaining matters step by step.
Likewise, in the Sky Realm!
At its entrance, Hestia encountered Demeter once more.
"Demeter, it's been a long time."
Hestia greeted her with a smile. Unlike her previous beauty, her slightly round cheeks now gave her a cuter appearance.
"Hestia…"
Demeter looked at Hestia with deep eyes, pausing before finally replying, "It has indeed been a while."
Clearly, Demeter was reflecting. If she had made the same choice as Hestia and joined the Underworld, what would her fate be now?
Demeter didn't know, but she did understand that her path and Hestia's had diverged drastically.
Hestia had a clear road ahead, and she only needed to follow it.
As for herself? Demeter knew well that she had no such choice. The path she walked was unknown and filled with uncertainty.
Everything was laid bare before her. There was no turning back.
Unknowingly, the former sisters had completely separated, heading down different, irrevocable paths.
Hestia, Demeter.
The two goddesses exchanged no further words.
Demeter merely handed the essence of the Sky Realm, which she had long prepared, to Hestia.
Hestia took the essence and left.
There was no need for further words.
They simply weren't needed.
"Sigh…"
As Hestia left, Demeter sighed, murmuring to herself, "This… difference…"
Another sigh escaped her lips. What more could she say? Or even do? The truth was before her. She had no other options.
Other than sighing, what else could she change?
Hestia, Demeter, Hera.
Among these three goddesses, Hera had never truly had a choice.
In fact, both Hestia and Demeter had the option to choose at one point.
But now, having made their choices, there was no way to regret them.
Compared to Demeter, Hestia had indeed been spoiled by her younger brother, living like a princess who only needed to be happy each day.
Seeing Hestia again, Demeter noticed in her not the divine sharpness or majesty of a goddess, but rather…
A kind of innocent foolishness.
What did this signify?
It was self-evident.
For Hestia, there was nothing to worry about. She wouldn't face any problems, and her days would be filled with simple pleasures.
This was the change Hades had brought to Hestia.
For Demeter, all she could do was envy, unable to do anything about it.
Sometimes, it's just like that.
There is no choice and no ability to make one. This is the only outcome.
"Sigh!"
Demeter sighed again before returning to the Sky Realm. Regardless, the result was what it was, and she could only continue on her path.
In truth, many gods had no choice. They could only walk this singular path.
In reality, 99% of them had no say in their choices.
Choice?
Who actually had the right to choose?
This was the one and only reality. No matter who you are, the outcome is the same. Once you've embarked on this path, there is no turning back.
This is the most crucial fact.
No one can change it.
Every god, mortal or divine, must pay the price for their choices. Once you have chosen, there is no longer any chance to retreat.
The Underworld!
Hestia and Hemera returned with the essences of the Sky and Sea Realms.
"Brother."
"Your Majesty."
In the Pure Land, Hestia tossed the essence aside, while Hemera knelt respectfully on one knee.
Hades nodded and said, "Hemera, prepare yourself."
"Yes!"
Hemera knew exactly what she needed to do. After leaving the Sea Realm's essence, she respectfully withdrew.
"Hm…"
Curiously, Hestia asked, "Brother, has the god-king of the Sky Realm already been chosen? Is it Hemera?"
Hades answered calmly, "Hemera is the most suitable, but choosing rulers for the Sea Realm and Underworld isn't easy."
Hades was still contemplating this.
It's not that he felt a need to maintain balance.
Although any god he selected could theoretically become the god-king of the Sea or Underworld, the key issue was that the gods of the Underworld would never sit on that throne.
It was madness.
For the gods, sitting on that throne was unthinkable.
In theory, Persephone, Hestia, and Pandora were all suitable. But none of them could command universal respect.
Even Persephone, as Queen of the Underworld, couldn't.
Perhaps Persephone could assume the position, gaining reluctant acceptance from the Underworld gods, but Persephone would never take it.
In the end, this presented a significant problem for the entire Underworld. How could it be solved?
It was truly a headache!
As for the Sea Realm's god-king?
The same principles applied. Without sufficient compatibility, potential would be an issue. Sitting on the throne alone would not grant its full power.
This has never been easy.
"While Hemera suits the position of god-king in the Sky Realm, the Sea Realm is another matter. As for the Underworld…"
After some thought, Persephone chuckled and said, "Husband, why don't you take on an additional role? After all, no other god is more suited for the position."
Hades fell silent, unsure of how to respond.
Was his wife serious with that suggestion?
"Hehehe…"
Hestia giggled like a small hamster, her eyes smiling at the scene, while Eris quietly observed, keeping her thoughts to herself. This wasn't something she wanted to be involved in.
Too risky!
Better to stay out of it.
Hades did not respond, instead calmly sending the essences into the World Tree.
Instantly, the entire realm changed dramatically.
At that moment, the Underworld World Tree began to grow, evolving rapidly.
The Sky Realm.
The Sea Realm.
Both realms began to take form.
The Underworld's structure continued to shift.
The Astral Realm, Sky Realm, Sea Realm, Underworld, and Earth Realm formed a cohesive whole around the eight great hells.
From the outside, one could see the five realms encircling the eight hells, with smaller hells connecting to the larger hells, all centered around the towering World Tree.
In a flash, the upheaval within the Underworld World Tree gradually subsided.
It was as if the massive transformation had never happened, leaving a strange sense of
calm.
Of course, this made sense. For the Underworld World Tree, until the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind were fully assembled, everything was merely in preparation.
The true transformation would not occur until the elements were complete, and the entire Underworld World Tree would undergo a drastic change.
