I Am Hades, The supreme GOD of the Underworld!

Chapter 480: Chapter 480: The Racial War Reaches Its Final Step, Leaving Only Humanity and the Titan-Blooded Giants!

The Underworld underwent a transformation.

Afterward, the entire realm fell into a calm, as if indifferent to all external matters.

Meanwhile, the Racial War continued to inch toward its conclusion, approaching its final step.

During this period, the Underworld discreetly aided humanity—not openly, but by stepping in only when humanity faced major crises.

Although the gods were frustrated, they understood that this must have been part of a deal between the Underworld King and the Mythical World.

After all, anyone could see that the Underworld King's subsequent actions went suspiciously smoothly. Such a path could not have unfolded so easily without the tacit approval of the Mythical World.

With the Underworld's subtle support, humanity reached the final stages on its own merit, gradually dealing with all other surface-dwelling races.

In the Underworld.

"Mmm…"

Pandora sat in her office at the Castle of the Sighing Wall, immersed in an endless stream of administrative duties.

Many think gods simply feast and revel, but that isn't the case! For the Underworld, at least, Pandora, Hypnos, and Thanatos have extremely busy schedules, with each day full of work.

In fact, the workload is intense enough to be unthinkable for ordinary mortals, who might very well die from exhaustion under such a burden.

The Underworld manages not only the Greek Pantheon and Mythical World, which are currently embroiled in fierce battles on the surface, but also the myriad smaller worlds connected to it.

The sheer volume of tasks alone could drive one mad, and it's only thanks to their divine status that they can handle it all.

"Sigh…"

Pandora sighed softly, putting down her work to rub her temples. It wasn't that she was physically tired; the workload wasn't a problem for her physically. However, the mental strain was unavoidable.

In truth, Pandora could delegate much of her work.

But the issue lies in that if she delegates it all, it would feel like a betrayal of the Underworld King's trust in her.

Thus, Pandora meticulously and wholeheartedly handled everything. This was no joke; she was entirely devoted to these tasks.

"Next…"

"Mmm…"

"There's an issue with the human soul cycle in one of the smaller worlds?"

"That needs to be managed."

"A fluctuation in faith? This will need attention as well."

After a brief rest, Pandora returned to her myriad duties. There was simply too much to do.

The matters on the surface world were straightforward. Although the surface world was embroiled in fierce conflict, the Underworld was largely unaffected.

Additionally, there were Underworld deities assigned to watch over the situation. There was little to worry about.

However, the smaller worlds were a different story. These worlds served as the Underworld's resources, so any problems there could spell trouble.

Given this, Pandora treated these matters with the utmost care. After all, allowing issues to persist in these worlds would be pure folly.

"Mmm…"

Diligently focused, Pandora processed each task with precision and order. Soon enough, all issues had been addressed, leaving no loose ends.

"Pandora."

"Eris."

Pandora looked up to see a figure emerging from the shadows—Eris.

"Eris, is there something the Lady requires my assistance with?"

Eris shook her head. "No, I only came by for a visit."

"Hehe…"

Pandora chuckled gently, her smile graceful, like that of a perfect noblewoman. "Eris, you must be quite bored lately, aren't you?"

"…"

Eris fell silent for a moment, then sighed, "You saw right through me. It's true—things have been quite dull."

Eris nodded in resignation. "The Underworld has settled into a steady rhythm, with the next goal being the Wind God Beast. Until then, we've delayed the exploration of other mythic worlds."

Eris sighed, feeling frustrated.

It seemed like many things were in the works.

In reality, the Underworld was in a lull, caught between tasks.

To say there's work to do would be true.

But to say there's nothing to do wouldn't be wrong either.

Many of the Underworld's gods were embracing a relaxed routine. Yet, for Eris, the goddess of strife and discord, this was quite different.

Boredom weighed heavily on her. Eris thrived on chaos, and without any to be found, life felt stagnant.

"Hehe…"

Pandora chuckled. "Eris, the Underworld is in a stable phase, so patience is necessary. After all, many things need to be handled gradually."

"Besides, if there's one thing gods have, it's time."

Pandora's gentle words encouraged Eris.

Then, with a mischievous smile, Pandora said, "And if you really want something to do, you could help me with my workload. That should keep you entertained."

"…"

Eris fell silent, staring at Pandora.

In that moment, she felt as though Pandora had turned into a stranger. Was this really the same workaholic Pandora? Help with her work? Just the thought made Eris recoil.

No, thanks!

Everyone in the Underworld knew how insane Pandora's workload was. The last thing Eris wanted was to get roped into that.

"See?" Pandora smiled slyly. "I gave you something to do, and you don't want it. So, you can't blame me for not keeping you entertained!"

Pandora's smile was warm but unmistakably cheeky.

"Alright, alright." Eris waved her hand, exasperated. "I really shouldn't have come to you. You know I'm not cut out for this. But Pandora, even though you seem fine, you should pace yourself. Don't let the stress get to you."

Eris was genuinely concerned about Pandora's workload.

It wasn't as if the Underworld lacked capable hands. Yet Pandora insisted on bearing the brunt of it herself.

Due to her close friendship with Pandora, Eris couldn't help but worry about her well-being.

"Hehe…"

Pandora smiled gently. "These are tasks entrusted to me by His Majesty. Naturally, I must handle them all. Besides, staying busy keeps one focused."

She continued softly, "And, Eris, having managed the Underworld, there's a unique sense of fulfillment in watching the Underworld soldiers grow and take on their duties. It's indescribable."

"Fine, fine." Eris shrugged, unbothered. "But take care of yourself. If you overextend, it won't end well."

"I understand."

Pandora nodded, appreciative of her friend's concern.

Of course, Pandora couldn't tell Eris the full truth—that she, as a natural-born commander of the 108 Underworld Soldiers, shared the same perfection as the rest of them, making her immune to exhaustion.

But that was a secret better left unsaid.

"Mmm…"

Eris nodded, then asked, "Pandora, what do you know of the situation in the surface world?"

"The surface world?" Pandora thought briefly. "Currently, everything is stable. Thanks to the Underworld's assistance, humanity has gradually eliminated all the other races."

"Some gods have been defeated, while others have fallen completely."

"In short," Pandora predicted, "the racial war is nearing its final step. It won't be long now."

Pandora speculated, though it wasn't a crucial matter for her.

"Mmm…"

Eris pondered. "So, in the end, only humanity and the Titan-blooded giants will remain."

"Indeed," Pandora agreed. "Humanity, as the favored race of the Mythical World, stands on its own. And for the Titan-blooded giants, the Earth Goddess invested a tremendous amount of effort in them. To lose now would be unacceptable."

"Not to mention, Typhon, an artificial God-King, has emerged. With him leading, the Titan-blooded giants are bound to reach the final stage."

"Mmm!" Eris nodded, agreeing with Pandora's assessment.

From any perspective, the two final contenders in the racial war would be humanity and the Titan-blooded giants.

As for what would ultimately happen between these two, no one, not even the gods or Gaia, the Creator, could be certain of the outcome!
