Chapter 90: Chapter 90: A New Beginning
The night lay silent as whirling tree shadows and bright moonlight created a wonderful scene. A gentle breeze blew across the landscape.
"WHOOSH!"
Space distorted as several figures suddenly materialized from the void.
"THUD! THUD! THUD!"
Upon hitting the ground, three figures immediately collapsed.
Raditz, Vegeta, and Goku were completely exhausted, dropping with relief.
Tien and Krillin exchanged glances and smiled. Tumat flew circles above Raditz's head, shouting: "Get up! Get up!"
"I can't move. Let me rest for a while," Raditz grabbed Tumat's wings, pulling him close. "Thanks to you this time..."
Having received such praise, Tumat immediately became obedient, settling quietly beside Raditz.
This made Krillin laugh out loud.
Both Gohan and Nappa remained unconscious with serious injuries. They required immediate treatment, or their conditions would become dangerous. Tien looked around, trying to identify their location, when his eyes suddenly widened.
He spotted Jeice and Burter.
"Those are... Frieza's men!"
"Ah..." Krillin grew nervous as well.
Among their group, those with the greatest fighting power had already collapsed, leaving Krillin and Tien feeling somewhat vulnerable facing Frieza's remnants.
Not far away, Jeice and Burter appeared even more nervous, glancing around in confusion while clinging to each other, terror etched on their faces.
They had finally survived the battles between various powerhouses, escaped fatal energy blasts and exploding islands, and just as they were about to board a spaceship to freedom, a sudden light had enveloped them, teleporting them here.
More troubling, they now found themselves near those same Saiyans...
Dear God, why couldn't they escape these Saiyans' grasp?!
Jeice and Burter were desperate.
"You two know what to do, right?" Raditz sensed their distress and spoke coldly.
Though lying on the ground, his commanding voice still startled Jeice and Burter. They had witnessed the battle between Raditz and Lord Frieza—a contest of nearly equal power—which was more than enough to convince them of his authority.
"Yes, Lord Raditz!" Both quickly proclaimed their surrender.
Krillin and Tien relaxed, relieved to avoid further conflict.
Several of Lord Slug's soldiers were also present. They too knelt on one knee, expressing their willingness to surrender.
Additionally, a few surviving Namekians huddled around the Grand Elder.
The Grand Elder breathed laboriously. Having endured the shock of his planet's destruction while already near death, his spirit had weakened considerably. He seemed to lack even the strength to speak.
"Thank you, people of Earth. Though you couldn't save Namek, you saved my children. For this, I am deeply grateful."
"Unfortunately, Porunga was destroyed," Krillin replied.
"That matters little. My ability can revive him. But my life nears its end. After restoring the Dragon Balls' power, Kalis, you shall become the next Grand Elder."
During the villains' rampage, all village elders had been slaughtered. Kalis was the only one who survived. Being a member of the Dragon Clan himself, after receiving the Grand Elder's approval, he could rightfully succeed the position.
The Namekians accepted this arrangement, showing sincere respect to the Grand Elder before thanking the Earthlings once more.
"But where are we?" Krillin looked around, noticing many unfamiliar markings across the vast landscape. In the distance stood towering buildings with dazzling lights, suggesting a planet with advanced technology.
When making their wish, they hadn't specified a destination clearly. There was no telling where Porunga had sent them.
"It would be better if we had a spaceship, otherwise we can't get back home," Goku commented while lying on his back.
Vegeta snorted coldly: "Many planets in the universe possess interstellar navigation capabilities. Those like Earth can only be considered primitive, low-level worlds."
"Earth isn't inferior. The best things are often found on Earth," Raditz countered.
"Hmph, a fragile civilization with an average power level under 5!"
"Power levels don't determine everything."
"Power levels are..."
The three of them, still lying flat on the ground, began arguing with each other. The sight of these three fighters—whose very footsteps could make the ground tremble—engaging in such a petty squabble left everyone dumbfounded.
"Could this be..."
Suddenly, Jeice's white hair swayed as his eyes widened dramatically. Burter also looked stunned, exclaiming: "This is Outpost M187!"
Outpost M187 was one of Frieza's strongholds in the Northern Galaxy, not far from Planet Namek. It served as an important base established by Frieza for conquering the galactic frontier. All troops for the Namek expedition had been mobilized from here.
By sheer coincidence, they had been teleported to this location!
Looking more closely at the ground markings, they indeed displayed the Frieza Force emblem.
"Lord Raditz, this is one of Frieza's bases. You can rest here temporarily."
"Well, what a fortunate coincidence," Raditz said with a smile. "This works out well. Frieza's outpost should have medical equipment, allowing everyone to recover quickly."
"Also... Krillin, I'll leave contacting Earth to you."
"Me?!" Krillin was shocked.
With their spaceship destroyed, the only way to communicate with Earth now was to simulate a signal using Earth's communication wavelength recorded in Tumat's database, then properly calibrate it.
But that wasn't the most critical issue. The real problem was that Bulma would undoubtedly unleash her fury upon learning that the spaceship she had worked so hard to build had been destroyed. Bulma's anger was truly the most terrifying force in the universe!
Krillin sighed, feeling utterly helpless. But who else was in better condition to handle this task?
Eventually, Raditz and the others were taken to medical facilities for treatment. The Grand Elder explained what would happen after his death, re-empowered the Dragon Balls, and then passed away peacefully.
The Namekians harbored deep hatred for Frieza and Slug's henchmen, but since these villains had surrendered to Raditz, the kind-hearted Namekians were willing to give them a chance to start anew.
With Tumat's assistance, Krillin and Tien located suitable equipment in the communication room atop the central tower and contacted Earth.
They recounted their harrowing journey to Bulma in detail, including its tragic conclusion. As expected, upon hearing they had lost the spaceship, Bulma erupted in a torrent of complaints, lamenting that these muscle-bound men couldn't take proper care of anything.
No matter how strong a Saiyan might be, when scolded by Bulma, they had no choice but to accept the criticism—let alone someone like Krillin.
After nearly an hour of complaints, Bulma finally paused.
Since Earth's Dragon Balls had turned to stone and been destroyed on the spaceship, they would need to ask Kami to create new ones. Additionally, with Gohan injured, they would need to hide this from Chi-Chi while preparing for their return journey...
Bulma couldn't help but start yelling again. Her endless stream of accusations made Krillin want to cry.
