I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 259: Assassin's Turn?

Crystal defence, the part in the competition where strategy was a key feature needed to rein in victory. Or brute force. Anything works as long as you win, after all.

As the name obviously states, this competition was all about protecting your team's crystal from being destroyed by the enemy.

Lillian couldn't help but fidget a little as she pushed her hand into her blazer pocket, pulling something out as she stared at the screen for team listing.

[Marionette Von Roselle, Christopher Jackson, Zack Scott = Jericko Von Blade, Hubert Yogurt, Rex Crimson]

'My girl is finally up there!'

When she was first setting up the teams, she had first thought about using the other group to get a feel of what the enemy team was doing.

But...

She really wanted to see Marionette in action.

Lillian hastily pulled out a small flag from her pocket, waving it like a devoted fan.

The flag wasn't complex in the slightest.

Instead, it was just a black fabric with an illustration of a rose and the Assassin's name underneath. She got it made from a stand outside the Colosseum.

However... She got a strange look from a certain... Someone...

"Ya simp."

Lillian stiffened, turning slightly to the side as she saw Millis give her an overly teasing look as she scrutinised the flag in her hand.

She then laughed, causing Lillian to pout slightly.

"You judgin'? Can't a person lovingly support their girlfriend from the sideline?"

It was at her words that Millis instantly stopped. But after a second of pause, she laughed again, this time even louder.

"BAHAHA! YA BOTH EVEN HAVE THE SAME REASON!" Millis leaned back in her chair, stomping the ground. This led to Lillian's face twitching out of irritation. It wasn't that funny, was it? She was just waving a flag.

But that was when she realised something odd about what the Heroine said. What did she mean by 'same reason'? Was there something she was missing?

After Millis's laughter had finally died down, Lillian asked with subtle curiosity:

"Could I ask what you meant by that?"

"W-wait hold on. I need to breath a little first."

Lillian, looking at the woman, couldn't help but have her right bottom eyelid twitch unconsciously at the woman's dramatic behaviour. She truly was more worthy of her Theatrical system than herself.

"You done?" Lillian asked, having waited a little bit.

Millis nodded, giving out a sigh of relief before answering, "Didn't ya know ya girlfriend was waving a flag as well for ya?"

Lillian froze, her hand tightening around the narrow pole of her flag as she listened to what Millis had told her. Marionette had what? A flag? Of her?!

"S-since when?!"

Millis, having heard this, gave her a deadpan look, "I believe ya can figure that out ya self. Not that had anyway, bro."

She then watched as Lillian covered her face. Why wouldn't she? She had just discovered that the woman she loved had just been waving a flag for her like a child at a fair.

She was, of course, extremely flattered by the woman's actions, but that still didn't decrease the overwhelming sense of embarrassment inside her chest.

She then raised her face at a thought popping inside her mind. An image that turned vivid.

What was Marionette like in her childhood? And how adorable did she look?

Lillian rubbed her chin, 'Probably a hard life... But she must've been extremely cute!' She smiled widely, shaking her head, 'That's a given, though. Considering my Marionette is always cute.'

As she was in her internal monologue, she didn't realise she was mumbling a bit, something that Millis picked up and slowly turned away from with a wry smile.

"This couple is way too much for meh. Freaky the both of them!"

***

[Marionette POV]

Marionette looked around.

The competition's current location was designated in a small city with a barrier around a certain radius to keep them from straying too far away.

Her eyes traced over the tall modern buildings before looking behind her, finding her teammates preparing for the battle up ahead.

Christopher Jackson was a tall, blonde male who had been invited from the lower-ranked classes in the year to participate in the tournament.

Coming from the same class was his colleague, Zack Scott, who was average in height and had short brunette hair.

She narrowed her eyes on them.

Due to her relationship with Lillian, she had been able to get a look at the teams and members inside it. Because of this, she was able to achieve detailed research on the men's backgrounds.

With her research, she came to a summarised conclusion.

They weren't up to her standard in terms of strength, their skills were lacking, they were subpar in character, and lastly...

They weren't Lillian.

Why hadn't Lillian put herself with her? It didn't make any sense why she didn't do it. The same person can be used twice, and if she recalled correctly, Lillian had only participated in one.

She sighed, remembering her conversation with Lillian a couple of days before.

"You don't really need me in this one, right?" Lillian tilted her head, staring down at the Assassin's face, whose head was lying on top of her lap. She ran her fingers through the woman's hair before adding:

"I'm sure you can take them on easily by yourself."

Marionette pouted, turning her body and face to where it was facing Lillian's stomach. Then, she pushed her face into her in an annoyed manner.

She then said in a muffled voice:

"I want to do it with you, though..."

Lillian raised her hand to her mouth, giggling into the side of it, "You really are too adorable, Mari. So cute, that I'm even forgetting that you are a stone-cold assassin."

Marionette pouted before feeling something wet land on her cheek.

She turned slightly, looking up at Lillian's face, who smiled at her.

She then heard her say:

"Maybe we can fight alongside each other in one of the coming days~..."

"... When are you going to kiss me?"

"J-just wait for me, alright?"

***

Marionette broke herself out of the pleasurable prison she put herself in, feeling herself become warm inside as she remembered how Lillian was so hesitant about giving her a kiss.

Unlike now, where she would always give her one after just a slight and lazy request from her.

She turned her attention past her "team mates" and looked towards the crystal, which was behind them.

Nestled in a metal cradle was a magnificent blue gem of considerable size, which radiated a mysterious energy to the atmosphere. It was this energy that she felt much more enhanced compared to normal.

It was the buff zone she would receive when in range of the crystal.

However, she wasn't planning to make use of this increase in strength, for she had something else in mind.
