In Naruto as senju clan leader

After Rei left, silence stretched in the office.

The two elders were still stunned with his declaration while hiruzen and danzo were deep in thought, contemplating the aftermath of this matter and how to handle it since the other clans wouldn't stay silent once they got wind of what was up with the senju clan.

Afterall, which clan would trust the elders who embezzled the clan's funds for 'village development' and then were even trying to deny the only living member it's leadership.

In their eyes, they were directly breaking the silent consensus that the village had no say in clan affairs.

And the clan was none other than the founding clan of konoha, the revered senju clan.

No clan would stay silent since if even the senju clan was taken advantage of during its weakest time, then what chances would they have?

Minato had already grasped the situation at hand but he didn't see a need to defend the actions of the elders.

Afterall, he had already declared his stand on the matter yet they still refused to understand!

Leaning futher into his seat, he just called out to thin air, "Sora".

An anbu guard instantly appeared before his desk and kneeled, awaiting the Hokage's orders.

Minato got off his chair and went to window of the office, staring at the bustling village full of happy civilians, unaware of the political undercurrents going on.

'First the Uchiha and now the Senju clan, even a fool can understand that the elders have some plans regarding the founding clans of the village.' Minato thought silently while still trying to figure out whether the third hokage was in it too or was he just as unaware as him.

'Still, I can't let this situation get out of hand any longer. Rei kun actually made a great decision by holding a meeting.

Dismantling the plans of the elders at the roots will ensure stability in the village for some time.

I must not let anything happen to the founding clans during my tenure as the hokage.'

With that, Minato made his decision and addressed the still kneeling sora.

"Go and inform all the heads of the clans that Rei Senju has called for a meeting next week concerning his ascension as clan head and he requests their appearance as an heir of the Senju clan. Attendance is mandatory."

"Hai"

Wasting no time Sora instantly flickered away towards the nearest target, leaving the four elders still silently staring at the spot where he was kneeling just a moment ago.

Minato then decided to break the elders out of their stupor and addressed them in a formal tone, "Elders, since Rei kun has already decided to continue our discussion in the presence of other heads, let us end this matter for now. The village still needs a lot of development plans approved."

Danzo was the first to compose himself and left through the door not saying a single word, his thoughts unknown.

The other two elders followed after him.

Only Minato and hiruzen were left in the office, both lost in their own thoughts.

After a few moments, hiruzen took a deep breath and addressed Minato in his typical grandfatherly tone.

"Minato my boy..."

Hiruzen paused and looked at minato deeply for a moment and then just sighed, deciding to let the matter drop for now.

He knew just how headstrong Minato could be, trying to guide him now would just deteriorate their relationship further.

As for Minato, he didn't even look at him and just stared at the village beyond the glass window of the office while addressing him, "Lord third if you wouldn't mind, I have to finish my work now. Kushina will have my head if I keep her waiting for too long."

Hiruzen just smiled at that while getting off his chair and reached into his pocket, looking for his pipe.

Taking a puff, he exhaled while going towards the door.

Taking one last look at the completely still Minato still looking at the window, he addressed him, "Then we will meet directly next week at the meeting. And do not take our discussions to heart Minato.

Afterall, we all do this for the prosperity of konoha."

With that, he left the office while leaving a frowning Minato behind.

'For the prosperity of konoha?'

He wondered silently, torn between his memories of the kind and charismatic Hiruzen Sarutobi vs the man he was seeing right now. For him, the man he was looking at now was just a shadow of his past.

Or maybe that's how it has always been and he was just figuring it out now...

Hyuga Clan

For Hiashi Hyuga, the current clan leader of the Hyuga clan, it was just a normal day like always. He woke up and was training in the clan training grounds while his wife was knitting some clothes for their future child.

It was a touching moment, broken in the next moment by the approaching servant who addressed Hiashi in an urgent tone.

"Clan leader, the Hokage's anbu wishes to relay some important information to you. Should I bring him here?"

Hiashi frowned, "Allow him in."

"Understood clan leader." With that, the servant left and returned a moment later with an anbu behind her.

Seeing the questioning gaze of the hyuga clan head, the anbu bowed and addressed him, "Greetings, Hyuga clan head. I wish to convey a message of hokage sama to all of the clan heads of konoha."

Hiashi, curious of what could be of such importance that the Hokage addressed all the clan heads gave him permission to speak.

"On behalf of Rei Senju, Hokage sama has summoned all the clan heads of konoha to a meeting concerning his ascension as clan head. Attendance is mandatory."

This instantly had Hiashi's attention. Wasn't the Senju child only 5? Though it was understandable, considering at the moment the Senju clan only had 2 living members and one of them wasn't even living in the village. But what would warrant him to summon the clan heads? It couldn't be just for the ascension, that's for sure.

"Did he specify in depth, why he summoned us? Surely it is not just for his ascension?"

Hiashi questioned, bewildered as to why would their presence even be needed for that.

"Forgive me but I can only convey that much hiashi sama."

Replied the anbu and Hiashi didn't get angry.

He was an anbu afterall.

With countless thoughts running through his mind he told the anbu that he can leave.

With the clan head's permission, the anbu flickered aways towards his next objective.

Everyone had roughly the same reaction but he didn't divulge anything else and just waited for them to compose themselves before going towards the next clan.

Finally the only one left were the Uchiha clan.

For them, he couldn't recklessly flicker lest the police force take that as a provocation and strike him down.

He stopped at the entrance to the clan grounds and waited. Only a minute had passed before a dark haired ninja flickered in front of him and asked in a questioning tone,

"What business do you have in the clan grounds?"

Sora promptly replied in a neutral tone, "I am here to see clan head Fugaku sama as per the orders of lord Hokage."

"Fugaku sama huh...alright I will guide you there." With that the dark haired ninja gestured him to follow and flickered away.

The anbu also flickered after him and in a minute, they were standing in front of the clan head's residence.

The dark haired ninja told him to wait and stepped towards the door while gently knocking.

A moment later, a woman opened the door and questioned the dark haired ninja, "Ara, good afternoon aki kun, are you here to see Fugaku?" while silently staring at the anbu in curiosity.

Aki replied back to her in a gentle tone, "Mikoto sama, this anbu here is under the hokage's orders to convey a message to Fugaku sama. Please inform him."

"Hokage matters huh...please just wait a moment anbu san, I will inform him."

The anbu nodded silently while Mikoto went inside and informed Fugaku.

Fugaku, as expected called the anbu inside and curiously asked him what the message was.

Sora conveyed him the message and as expected Fugaku was bewildered.

'Why is Rei Senju asking for our presence in his ascension?'

He had a lot of questions but, understanding that the anbu wouldn't disclose any matter of the Hokage unless ordered he just dismissed him while confirming that he would be there.

He had to see what the kid was upto, inviting all the clans in his ascension.

Hokage Office

Receiving Sora's confirmation, Minato thanked him and he just nodded while disappearing, leaving the Fourth Hokage wondering what would happen in a week from now.

'This is too stressful, I should finish up now and go back home. I miss my wife.'

Thinking about Kushina, he regained his energy and started finishing his work as soon as he could.

As for the one who was involved for all the chaos, he was eating ramen at ichiraku's while silently staring at his quest tab.

Description - The path to the Senju clan head's seat was not as simple as the host expected. Riddled with difficulties in the form of power hungry oldies, the host must ascend to the seat of senju clan head, forever altering its fate and plot.
